It seems that the DRK charts looks like a standard market reaction to the "reference signal" Wink

Can someone help me with my issue? I have downloaded the DRK wallet and left it to sync, it keeps getting stuck on block 75327 of the transaction history and is running 2 weeks behind! I have left this for more than a day with an active internet connection, but no luck! I have tried closing and re-opening, again with no luck. Any help is much appreciated!

What to expect from DRK in the next few weeks

The notion that has been floating around today hinting that DRK is near its peak price is very short-sighted. I am really not expecting a big rise with RC3, but it is very important to regain the market's confidence after the fork issues of the last attempt to implement masternode payments. Also exchanges, merchants and investors won't make any real move before the fork is implemented successfully. The masternode network is the foundation for Proof of Service and has a lot more applications beyond anonymity.

So I am more interested in RC3 solidifying DRKs position as anonymity market leader. When RC3 goes live and masternode operators start reporting on their gains more masternodes will join in, is only logical. The way the debugging was done to clean up RC3 was very transparent and professional anyone can go to darkcointalk.org and see the process and it is clear where we are from a technical perspective and that we are not hiding when we find issues but rather dealing with them openly and that sends a very positive message to investors.

The most important thing is after the 20th the development team's attention will go back to anonymity, by mid July we should have a better idea of what are the anonymity enhancements that Evan has planned for Darkcoin. How original and effective these enhancements are will be debate material and should draw additional media attention towards DRK.  I think the weeks before RC4 could be the last chance of buying DRK at affordable price levels.  Only after Darkcoin is peer reviewed and open sourced the adoption phase can start and a big rise should be expected.

One major milestone could be SilkRoad 2.0 or other Tor markets accepting DRK, but this wont happen before it is open sourced and they can verify the code themselves is only logical. But when they do and if Evans code is strong we will be starting a completely different game. So selling your DRK's before open-source is silly, specially with the track record of the development team.

Darkcoin's Competition

Darkcoin has a clear first-mover advantage and this is how I see the competitive landscape. Darkcoin started this journey 6 months ago and has been developing at a very aggressive pace, eventually the market noticed and we had our first big rise in price after weeks of being in the shadows. This produced a lot of speculative hype and catalyzed the market creating an opportunity for others to claim similar features.

With a lot of people feeling they missed the dark train they started to invest in any coin with anonymity claims in the hopes of seeing a similar price behavior. Then we saw two types of coins come up either complete scams or coins with honest intentions in the long run, but misrepresenting the stage of development they were in. And all these coins fall into one of these two categories Vericoin, Dreamcoin, Libertycoin, X11coin, Cloakcoin, Monero, Pinkcoin, Neutrino, Cryptcoin.

Lets just not talk about the scams, the ones with real intentions were claiming to be either at the same stage of development or beyond Darkcoin in just a few weeks. The market needed to know if this was true and a lot of people decided to take a risk and see, but time quickly took care of the scams and the others were proven to be either completely flawed or at a very early stage of development.  So now that the hype is dying coins really need to deliver true and proven value if they want to challenge DRK, but this requires true skill and if anything it will take a lot of time, so if Darkcoin does not relax and continues its aggressive development it can easily retain its first mover advantage and remain the market leader. This means that Darkcoin's future is in the hands of Darkcoin while serious competitors need to wait for a serious problem in camp Darkcoin if they want to win some time and close the gap. So as long as Evan and his team continues to deliver Darkcoin should have a bright future.

+1

And BTW, from what i know, most of Chinese investors are not step in the DRK market right now.

This is the best project in crypto----DarkCoin. Time will tell and don't blame you miss it.

I strongly belive once AT ship their ASICs for scrypt all miners will migrate toi DRK and price will explode. I am holding my DRK.
Mining this coin with ASICs will not increase the price of the coin.

FUD ALERT !!

Just found this going around in bitcoin blogs and news aggregators... With today's date, June 15th... shheeeesss...

Quote
A user on the DarkCoin thread showed off some screenshots of him mining at 400+MH/s, using a CPU to mine with. We all know that this is simply impossible to achieve, so maybe the pool stats are displaying the speed incorrectly?

And I was like.. whaaaaaaaat? (Phil Dunphy style)

then I checked the references and realised this is old news, from early March, would you believe!!

http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/faulty-stratum-implementation-leaves-most-mining-pools-vulnerable-to-hash-power-bug

 actual state of affairs

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=513382.0

I remember such video, it was was an extremely rude russian dude, with ZERO proof he was mining x11 at all, in fact, no proof he was mining anything real at all. Then he goes on to insult the entire planet in horrible english. 100% FUD

It's Dark in Here

A woman takes a lover during the day, while her husband is at work.

One day, her 9-year-old son hides in the closet during one of her romps. Her husband comes home unexpectedly, so she hides the lover in the closet.

The little boy says, "It's dark in here."
The man whispers, "Yes, it is."
Boy - "I have a baseball."
Man - "That's nice."
Boy - "Want to buy it?"
Man - "No, thanks."
Boy - "My dad's outside."
Man - "OK, how much?"
Boy - "$250."

In the next few weeks, it happens again that the boy and the mom's lover end up in the closet together.

Boy - "It's dark in here."
Man - "Yes, it is."
Boy - "I have a baseball glove."
Man - Remembering last time, asks, "How much?"
Boy - "$750."
Man - "Fine."

A few days later, the father says to the boy, "Grab your ball and glove. Let's go outside and toss the baseball."

The boy says, "I can't. I sold them."

The father asks, "How much did you sell them for?"

The son says "$1,000."

The father says, "It's terrible to overcharge your friends like that. That's way more than those two things cost. I'm going to take you to church and make you confess."

They go to the church and the father makes the little boy sit in the confession booth and he closes the door.

The boy says, "It's dark in here."
The priest says, "Don't start that crap again!"
