Masternode is just a bad POS implementation, scamming the POW miners.
Contemplate this: Miner mines 100 DRK Miner buys 10% of a node Miner then gets new DRKs through proof-of-service Yeah, he's very "scammed" that his mined DRKs can now give him continuous revenue. You are right the masternode implementation is pathetic - The miners do all the job to secure the network; and the masternode do nothing but collecting fees. This is 'Bank' fees invented again. What innovation? How about all the work it performs for the anonymous transactions? is that considered nothing to you? than what are you doing here? I'm sorry we do not fit your "quick profit" coin idea and are trying to solve more fundamental issues.. geeez

That is of course a joke of a remark. But it makes more sense once you see the astounding legacy of sh*tcoins you've been into the last few months.

Haven't been able to keep up recently. Sporks: are they a permanent feature of alt-coins? Hard forks can now be replaced by 2-step implementations, including checkpoints? If so, no more ASICs unless it is voted upon by choice? Part of LTC price pressure has been said to be down to ASIC miners dumping https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=2327.msg190260#msg190260

Earn your own DRK coins by mining at the multipool. Not only that, you can earn DRK using your old ASIC hardware on SHA256 and SCRYPT coins! DarkCoin by xpool - DRK Multipool PROP reward system DRK Payouts Scrypt & SHA256 & X11 Algo's DDoS Protected High Performance Backend Simple setup and usage 0% Fees while in BETA To mine: How does it work?
xpool offers 3 different sets of coins to mine. SHA256, Scrypt and X11. Each algorithm runs on a shift. Currently there is no set interval as there needs to be enough found and confirmed blocks to make trading worthwhile on the exchanges. We don't want to finish a shift only to find out, the exchanges are going to eat up the payout in fees or limit the withdraw with a large minimum. The confirmed coins are traded throughout the duration of the shift automatically to maximize the profits from exchanging them into DRK. Once enough confirmed blocked are accumulated, the shift is moved into "Trading" status while all the exchanged coins are calculated into DRK and then queued for payment. Once all the coins are confirmed as successfully traded and exchanged, the DRK payments are sent.
As the pool picks up more hashing speed and sufficient DRK can be picked up from the exchanges, the shifts will be set to a schedule and payouts more frequent and less worry about the exchanges. This is a growing phase so the more hash support the better. If a DRK block is found, there's no exchanging or loss of fees as it can simply be moved into the X11 payout queue.
The advantage of the pool is that you can utilize your older ASIC equipment to earn you the more desired DarkCoin. Cheers and Happy Hashing!
Donations welcome!
! X11 shift completed and just paid out. A whopping 29.8545 DRK was sent out after a 1.5 day long shift! Enjoy your DarkCoins!

You need to go back to page 400 or so to understand the discussions that were had about master nodes. They are not a vanity project for paying dividends to those that can afford them. They are there to power DRK coins future. Without them, there is no economically sound way to obtain privacy in financial transactions with a system that is aligned with bitcoin and so could be implemented alongside bitcoin at merchant outlets.

I'm sure this MN question has been asked several times here but I can't locate it. Do I need to have a remote linux server if I'm running already running a minning rig w/ Ubuntu? I'm also running Windows 8.1 Pro on my pc. I would like to find the best DIY setup guide and take a look at it first before I consider having someone I don't know set it up for me. Its a little nerve-racking learning something new with the value of 1000 DRK at hand.
That is what I a here for my friend. Please check my sig!! I can get you up an running in a few hours, 100% risk free, and explaining everything, monitoring your node, how to manage funds without breaking the Masternode, backups etc PM me

There were many discussions about setting up working groups to drive non-technical developments forward so that we could run parallel activities of DRK development.
Those discussions led to the creation of pockets of activity on Darkcointalk.
I think that is the wrong place to discuss non-technical developments and driving the project forward to the $1bn price range over the short-term. Darkcointalk is there for hodlers. Think about that for a minute or two.
As I originally suggested, there should be a series of DRK threads here on bitcointalk for the various activities so that they can be discussed in public. Think about that for a minute or two. Happy to have self-moderated threads, other than this main one.
This does not mean that we lose or give up on the concept of correct lines of reporting and approval so that all activities are organised and implemented in concert with each other.
DRK works on the basis of decentralisation and publicly available votes from mining and master nodes. Think about that for a minute or two.

This was actually the second thing that made be stick to DRK. 1st - Brilliant whitepaper. Then found out the dev, Evan Duffield (and no anon-pseudonym) has 15+ years working in the financial field, but is 100% dedicated to his project, Darkcoin. Since I've been on testnet like a hawk, I KNOW he barely sleeps enough to get back to coding. And now he has a team, a damn good one. And the best is soon to come! This is nothing! DRK price is ridiculously low. 2nd - Best community ever in the crypto world! By a long shot !! Just doing my part the best I can.

Again, if you care about Darckoin, help sniff around for pools !! Most unknow_pools that are NOT complying and holding us down (again, because the Evan has good ethics) - I cant find any of the one's with the bigger hashrate slots! Some may be private, but I'm sure we're missing quite a few well known ones. Find out their lat block and cross reference in chaeplin's list - http://drk.poolhash.org/poolhash.html and PM me, or post here https://darkcointalk.org/threads/just-had-an-idea-for-us-miner-collectively-help-drk-before-next-fork.1662/For example... last found block is from Multipool.us. That is a HUGE pool. THEY ARE NOT PAYING !!! Send them emails to please comply and update, otherwise it will be enforced and ALL THE BLOCK WILL BE ORPHANED !! Who suffers? Multipool? Or the miners mining there? The whole point of Masternodes is PoS. The better it works, the faster and higher the price will rise, the better for the miner, and the pool!! DUH !!

I wonder where are the miners that mined BTC at a loss, for the sheer obvious and overwhelming knowledge of being part of something truly unique, elegant and urgent, are right now? Anyway, proud to announce that coinotron.com has finally updated their wallet to 0.9.11.5 and all blocks have started paying the nodes!! Coinotron ROCKS because they did their best to fix things quick and quite professionally. Now could we please try to do something about ghash.io, dedicated pool and multipool please? C'mon people, lets start asking them for some answers !!
