I would like to thank Evan personally for granting me the opportunity to retire at young age through his amazing work.

This is the email I sent to announce my retirement:
Hi guys,
Just a quick FYI: I'm leaving the company in 3 months (30 September final working day).

Reason is basically that I got very lucky with an investment I made in February this year which has taken away financial pressure and has given me the opportunity to try to follow my dreams.

I have mixed feelings as I love my job and I love working for this company, but it feels like it is something I have to do.

Until I leave, I will continue to give my best.

Thank you,
XXXXXX XXXXXXX

PS I'm still holding my coins and will continue to do so until DRK has overtaken Litecoin.

Oh my gosh, is that safe?  What if DRK falls apart?  What if there is a terrible crash in the crypto market?  Yikes!  You scare me!  Take care!

Risk/safety depends on personal circumstances. I sent a similar email a few years ago... only without the money from a good investment Smiley I was single and young, so the downside was small no matter what happened. Things look different when you have a family, but even in that case risk can be managed.

Anyway, kudos to coinzcoinzcoinz!!! I wish I was around before, maybe I could be posting here the order for my first yatch Smiley

Last year I had 60 btc that I bought at around $30. I watched as we hit 260 ATH & then as we dropped to 60$. I never sold. I waited & waited & after 6 months, despair got to me & I had to sell 58 btc at $90 to pay bills & expenses. 3 weeks later btc hit $1200.
I learned my lesson.
Ill go as low as this ship can take me but I will not sell. I'll take a lungfull of saltwater over regret anyday. I would guess Darkcoin prices are being manipulated bigtime. Just keep building it, the end result is what matters.

I hear some similar stories. I meet a guy in TigerDirect store that sold his 2000 BTC for about $3000.

I was in the Aurora train some months ago. It was really painful. Same comments, same fuds, same trolling, same "innovative things" (airdrop).
People yelling "I will hold my AUR to the end!", today AUR= $0.15 from better don't mention here.

We need to be honest with the community, the DRK price is under a high pressure from large forces. It's a 7 double digits lottery at this moment.
I consider the fundamentals and dev team great with an exceptional work, but they are not enough at this moment to keep the price afloat.

Here and now, we can see the real true. Many users on this forums with some illusions that they can buy all the dumps yelling "yes, more cheap DRKs please". They don't have idea what they are saying, and they don't have the power to buy too much. I remember a guy imploring to drop the price because he want to buy more few days ago (I can't believe that).

We are at the mercy of these large forces. Many users here call them "idiot", retard and many other insults (in some cases by accident), they are laughing now.

Hope people learn the lesson for a better future of this coin, otherwise will be the end. Everybody need to learn how to handle an investment complex worldwide community.

I'm holding my DRKs, but please, it's an extremely high risk game at this moment, make your decision accordingly.

Never, ever put your family or yourself on the line with the illusion of be an instant millionaire in few months, because these things only happen in a very low percent of the population and in low budget TV movies (Play the lottery and probably you will have more chances).

Hmm..
No spamming, but with cloak around the corner, i think its better if you sell (a part) of your darks.

Are you serious ?

You just tested 4 for the 3rd time in a week after a high of nearly 2 and a half times that. Cloaksend = priced in and dumped. Cloaklaunch = split the scraps with XC on the 7th of July. You might get back to 5.

No thanks.

EDIT: While I've been typing you just broke your 4 support. So that makes 2 fudsters in the last 20 minutes requesting lifeboats from the Darkcoin thread. Things are turning around - you're all headed down the well trodden path that DRK's just been on except a few months behind.

#rightsofpassage

Dont get me wrong, i like Darkcoin too. But the only thing i think is that Darks techniques have been passed by Cloakcoin. Cloakcoin can provide fully anon where xc and yes, dark also, just cant.

GiftEncounter has outdone most trolls from the past. Most likely an alias/sockpuppet for Abercrombie from BTC-E trollbox.

...he's already been rumbled once because he couldn't even be bothered changing the script for some of his aliases.

What's happening here is clear. There's a multi-week consolidation period (it was months for Bitcoin) after a big revaluation. DRK is way ahead of the pack in this. The new valuation is getting hard packed now - it may still go down further or it may not, doesn't matter because it's part of the cycle.

All the new "anons" are now starting to get their taste of it but it's going to be a whole lot harder for them to pick up once they've dumped because they're basically in the "clone, also ran" category that stays on or near the deck once dumped. DRK on the other hand will have only upside left at that point and can pick up it's momentum again - no count aided by further technical announcements of genuine originality.

Earn your own DRK coins by mining at the multipool. Not only that, you can earn DRK using your old ASIC hardware on SHA256 and SCRYPT coins!

DarkCoin by xpool - DRK Multipool

PROP reward system
DRK Payouts
Scrypt & SHA256 & X11 Algo's
DDoS Protected
High Performance Backend
Simple setup and usage
0% Fees while in BETA
To mine:

How does it work?

xpool offers 3 different sets of coins to mine. SHA256, Scrypt and X11. Each algorithm runs on a shift. Currently there is no set interval as there needs to be enough found and confirmed blocks to make trading worthwhile on the exchanges. We don't want to finish a shift only to find out, the exchanges are going to eat up the payout in fees or limit the withdraw with a large minimum. The confirmed coins are traded throughout the duration of the shift automatically to maximize the profits from exchanging them into DRK. Once enough confirmed blocked are accumulated, the shift is moved into "Trading" status while all the exchanged coins are calculated into DRK and then queued for payment. Once all the coins are confirmed as successfully traded and exchanged, the DRK payments are sent.

As the pool picks up more hashing speed and sufficient DRK can be picked up from the exchanges, the shifts will be set to a schedule and payouts more frequent and less worry about the exchanges. This is a growing phase so the more hash support the better.
If a DRK block is found, there's no exchanging or loss of fees as it can simply be moved into the X11 payout queue.

The advantage of the pool is that you can utilize your older ASIC equipment to earn you the more desired DarkCoin.
Cheers and Happy Hashing!

Cheers!

14.2032 DRK have just been sent for the X11 shift earning ~ 0.02716029 DRK/Mh/1.72days

ZPOOL - the miners multipool! Support We pay 10 FLUX Parallel Assets (PA) directly to block rewards! Get paid more and faster. No PA fee's or waiting around for them, paid instantly on every block found!

It doesn't matter, because that kind of subtle technical differentiation doesn't translate into valuation as I've explained umpteen times on these forums.

Bitcoin's been "surpassed" technically by just about every alt out there but it never made one damn bit of difference.

Technical superiority is totally ambiguous anyway unless one coin is broken in a way that another one isn't. So be my guest and go buy your favourite anon algo if it makes you feel better, but don't expect it to make you any fortunes.

Okay, you have a point there. But i dont mention that Cloakcoin will take over the whole anonymous coin market. It will provide fully anonymity where for instance Silkroad needs it. It can be used just for the markets that need it.

you are comparing apples with oranges.
ltc - scrypt. if there were no asics, one 280x does 700 khs on scrypt
doge - same same as above
drk - x11. one 280x does 4.2 Mhs

so how many gpus mine drk and home many mine ltc (lets asume no asics)

But you are right that drk surpased ltc in just couple of months.

no fud, I am drk miner myself.

Litecoin and Doge are Scrypt, Darkcoin is X11. You can't compare hash rate like that. Different mining algorithms will result in different hash rate on a same hardware.

Ofcourse you are both right. My brain was temporarily dislodged.  Lips sealed

And I´m one of the heroes which buy at .136. That was a great idea. It´s not really a problem but I´m angry that I didn´t inform me and take this falling knife. So my small 2.4 BTC which I have invested have to wait until it goes up again. This should  take a while......

Well you may have a different interpretation of the "anonymous" market from me.

I'm not in the "untraceability" market, I'm in the "privacy" market. Those are two very different markets and people would do well to be conscious of which one they're investing in before they part with their precious BTC.

To me, the difference is this - one is sought after by criminals looking for a financial laundering service, the other is sought after by regular users who want at least an equivalent level of "privacy" as is currently offered by the fiat banking system. Note that the fiat system is not in the least bit "anonymous" but it is reasonably private. Your transactions are all associated with your name but they're not in the public domain. For me, that's where 90% of the "anon coin" market lies and only about 10% is in the "untraceable" sector, so thats why I don't hold much store by coins that claim to achieve this or that extremity in anonymous transactions.

All these coins are based on 20-30 year old research anyway and they all have their weaknesses.

The thing about Darkcoin is that it is so obviously being taken very seriously by the devs and testers. I don't mean simply in terms of the currency or anon philosophy or whatever; I mean really deep down, in terms of the core tech behind the features. You can watch the back and forth between these skilled people all day long on Darkcointalk. I really cannot think of another coin that gives that sense of security. It may not be particularly accessible to the layman, but it counts for the long term, no question about it.

I don't think running with development just because of charts is a good idea. Technical work must be independent, it's the best long run decision.
