TO EVERYONE WHO ARE CONCERNED WITH THE PRICE AND THE FUTURE of DarkCoin
You should first look at this
DarkCoin Network speed: 156.23 GH/s
you can make your own decisions based on that..

Let's compare it to others:

Litecoin: 402 GH/s

Dogecoin: 67 GH/s

so Darkcoin comes right after Litecoin.... not bad for such a new coin.

Litecoin and Doge are Scrypt, Darkcoin is X11. You can't compare hash rate like that. Different mining algorithms will result in different hash rate on a same hardware.

I would like to thank Evan personally for granting me the opportunity to retire at young age through his amazing work.

This is the email I sent to announce my retirement:
Hi guys,
Just a quick FYI: I'm leaving the company in 3 months (30 September final working day).

Reason is basically that I got very lucky with an investment I made in February this year which has taken away financial pressure and has given me the opportunity to try to follow my dreams.

I have mixed feelings as I love my job and I love working for this company, but it feels like it is something I have to do.

Until I leave, I will continue to give my best.

Thank you,
XXXXXX XXXXXXX

PS I'm still holding my coins and will continue to do so until DRK has overtaken Litecoin.

Wow congrat coinz^3. Excellent.

X11 is "faster" algo as it gives more hash per sec than the scrypt ones, right?

Earn your own DRK coins by mining at the multipool. Not only that, you can earn DRK using your old ASIC hardware on SHA256 and SCRYPT coins!

DarkCoin by xpool - DRK Multipool

PROP reward system
DRK Payouts
Scrypt & SHA256 & X11 Algo's
DDoS Protected
High Performance Backend
Simple setup and usage
0% Fees while in BETA
To mine:

How does it work?

xpool offers 3 different sets of coins to mine. SHA256, Scrypt and X11. Each algorithm runs on a shift. Currently there is no set interval as there needs to be enough found and confirmed blocks to make trading worthwhile on the exchanges. We don't want to finish a shift only to find out, the exchanges are going to eat up the payout in fees or limit the withdraw with a large minimum. The confirmed coins are traded throughout the duration of the shift automatically to maximize the profits from exchanging them into DRK. Once enough confirmed blocked are accumulated, the shift is moved into "Trading" status while all the exchanged coins are calculated into DRK and then queued for payment. Once all the coins are confirmed as successfully traded and exchanged, the DRK payments are sent.

As the pool picks up more hashing speed and sufficient DRK can be picked up from the exchanges, the shifts will be set to a schedule and payouts more frequent and less worry about the exchanges. This is a growing phase so the more hash support the better.
If a DRK block is found, there's no exchanging or loss of fees as it can simply be moved into the X11 payout queue.

The advantage of the pool is that you can utilize your older ASIC equipment to earn you the more desired DarkCoin.
Cheers and Happy Hashing!

Cheers!

7.9897 DRK have just been sent for the scrypt shift earning ~ 0.24418399 DRK/Mh/1.5days

ZPOOL - the miners multipool! Support We pay 10 FLUX Parallel Assets (PA) directly to block rewards! Get paid more and faster. No PA fee's or waiting around for them, paid instantly on every block found!

Oh my gosh, is that safe?  What if DRK falls apart?  What if there is a terrible crash in the crypto market?  Yikes!  You scare me!  Take care!

Completely safe considering the amount that could have been made if investing in DRK in February and providing that a significant amount has already been converted to BTC/FIAT/Stocks.  I no longer work either.  But I've pulled a significant amount out of crypto and invested in more traditional investments.  I don't know what coinzcoinzcoinz investment strategy is and it's none of my business.  But if I were to speculate, I would guess that they have probably pulled a significant amount out of crypto as well. Edit: I just noticed that they are still holding their coins.  Not the strategy I would use because I believe in diversification.

“Diversification is protection against ignorance. It makes little sense if you know what you are doing.”
Warren Buffett

Lets hope they know what they are doing.

And yes I diversify to protect against my own possible ignorance.

I think that we will be seeing many more people becoming financially independent due to profits made with cryptocurrencies.

Last year I had 60 btc that I bought at around $30. I watched as we hit 260 ATH & then as we dropped to 60$. I never sold. I waited & waited & after 6 months, despair got to me & I had to sell 58 btc at $90 to pay bills & expenses. 3 weeks later btc hit $1200.
I learned my lesson.
Ill go as low as this ship can take me but I will not sell. I'll take a lungfull of saltwater over regret anyday. I would guess Darkcoin prices are being manipulated bigtime. Just keep building it, the end result is what matters.

New pools that are stand alone and do not use upstream mining to connect to larger pools always suffer from the start up blues. You need a high hash rate to solves blocks, and you need miners to get higher hash rates. However miners don't stay if you are not solving blocks.  So miners come in and leave too quickly ,  if they all came at once it would be great for both the miners and the pool. I noticed thenorb.com has been trying to get off the ground for a few weeks. Today I pointed my miner over there to help them out. If you plan on trying a new pool or would like to support them today would be a great day to do it. Their hash rate is already over 100mh and with a few more miners the community can get it over 200mh.  That seems to be the minimum for solving blocks in a day. I am doing what I can and hope you will too. If you tried them in the past few weeks and left today is a good day to re point.

Another question guys. Can i use the wallet.dat from ubunto darkcoin-qt with the windows-qt ?

dumpprivkey <youraddress>
and
importprivkey <the private key from above> <label>

Smiley

Yes you can, just drop it into your AppData/roaming/darkcoin directory.  In case you use the wallet.dat in there, re-name it so it doesn't get overwritten!  And do so with the wallet closed Smiley

As written already by someone else before, be sure you have the same db libraries version.
When compiling with 1.5x lidbd, it clearly states in source code that wallet will not be portable !
As the portable wallet  needs 1.48 to compile.

But I agree with you the wallet.dat should be portable in general.

Thanks guys. I did test it works. Used a windows generated wallet.dat with ubuntu

A lot of alts took a hit this week. Bitcoins excitement will fade and people will diversify back into alts before long.

Are you serious ?

You just tested 4 for the 3rd time in a week after a high of nearly 2 and a half times that. Cloaksend = priced in and dumped. Cloaklaunch = split the scraps with XC on the 7th of July. You might get back to 5.

No thanks.

EDIT: While I've been typing you just broke your 4 support. So that makes 2 fudsters in the last 20 minutes requesting lifeboats from the Darkcoin thread. Things are turning around - you're all headed down the well trodden path that DRK's just been on except a few months behind.

And this is exactly how the whole XC feud started. Traders came here to poach, took advantage of both communities, made money for themselves and left both communities fighting with each other.

We have just had exactly the same on the XC thread re cloak so don't sweat it....

And agree, its so much nicer (for both sides) not having a war...
