Whether the masternodes are used for anonymous chats or internet browsing, the content sent or viewed by the user must be automatically encrypted before it goes thru the mn. (IMO)

XC already has instant encrypted chat but you need to know each other's public key to do so. Sure something similar could be implemented in time.

Paying for sending messages is essential to prevent spam

That is why we are all here.

It was Adam Back and his invention of Proof of Work to prevent email (messaging) spam that Satoshi took and used as the basis for creating the public ledger (also why we are here, lol).

Paying for sending messages is essential to prevent spam, but maybe it could be scaled so that very short messages are very cheap and then they get more expensive, the more data you send. Also with the current volatility, I think coding in set prices in DRK is a mistake. There must be a way of establishing some sort of ratio to things like difficulty, coin supply, market cap, masternodes, fiat currencies, precious metals or some combination of any of them, or something else.

Maybe we should leave this to the masternode holders or the miners (or whoever is going to process the messages) ...
This all goes a little bit into the tx fee thing... we should all use a tx fee when sending DRK (to help the network), and the miners will at one point be free to NOT process a transaction that was submitted WITHOUT tx fee.

So probably it will turn out the same way with the "message fee"... in the beginning people will be able to send messages for free, but the bigger the network gets (and or the more valuable DRK gets) we will see masternodes/miners process messages that pay higher fees with higher priority, and messages that pay no fee at all will probably not be processed at all... (or only by generous miners/nodes)

What I am trying to say is: Don't make it complicated, just let the fee be decided between the users and the darkworkers (people who make the drk network function)

Let the market decide you say... that could work, it usually does.

Maybe in the new wallet there could be some indication how much the tx/messaging fees are in fiat terms, the wallet balances were displayed that way in some screenshots I believe.

If it's really needed, you can borrow DRKs, anonymize'em, spend your 1 DRK and return the change...  Cool

darkcoin has broken the downtrend line from May (although volume could be more convincing).
There should also be a positive 7/30 MA crossover in the next few days on the daily chart.
This offers a very friendly trading environment into which RC5, open sourcing, KA's review, info on the darkcoin foundation etc can be released.

It's asinine to think lagging indicators can predict future price action. There is no possible way for something that is derived from price to be able to be predictive.
