Well, I'm angry with myself.  a couple of weeks ago or so, when mintgox failed, I put my coins into Bitfinex, and I set them to sell at about .0062.  At the time we were down in the high 4s  So I thought it wouldn't happen, but when the price started skyrocketing, I wasn't paying attention (too busy) and when I finally noticed, it was above .007!  So my coins were sold, :..(  Not a lot of coins, but still, LOL.  I'm always screwing up!

So yah.... be careful out there, it's a harsh world!

and since tor has been exposed to be as annonymous as bitcoin  Grin   maybe later we should look into making our own tor style service.
Something like vpncoin has. I think it would be a really cool feature for dark. Anon web hosting etc.

Tante, ouch!

A good idea is to set the alarm on Bitcoinwisdom to catch rises like this. If you have to sell coins you want to at least get them away closer to the top when the market's running up like it has, so set the alarm for at least 0.001 lower than your sell price, as your ask can easily be filled by someone buying into walls and spiking the price. When it goes off then you can decide whether to cancel your order or not.

Back a couple of weeks ago Cryptsy went dark for a while.  They came back up kind of bizarre like and I checked the price of DRK.  It was only .00001 and I thought to myself "it's my lucky day" so I bought a few masternodes worth.  I thought I could cash in on Cryptsy's sloppiness in getting all the open orders in place.  I was about to transfer more BTC in when I did a double take.  I bought DRKC, not DRK.  By then the bids had filled in and I sold them right back.  Only lost about $5 USD.  Then I read the DRKC thread.  What a stinker.

I awoke to find this reversal, but not reaaaaaaaly too concerned-the amount of drk fueling this reversal is not that high compared to the volume that got us to 0.008, so hopefully we bounce back up to 0.008 and beyond.

I sold around 0.0085 on bittrex, then bought back at 0.0081. But the order book just missed triggering the bulk of my DRK sales, so that sucked as I'd have been able to buy back quite a bit of DRK.

I'm thrilled that the amount sold, if bought back, pushes DRK up to new highs.

...

No one has ever sourced a darksend transaction. It's been publicly audited by a security expert, ironically it's the same one who you link to.

http://blog.anonymousbitcoinbook.com/2014/09/darksend-paper-version-2/

PS. The audit came back clean, we've fixed nearly everything mentioned.

Wow this should be everywhere !

Thank you Evan !

Yah, but I didn't look at emails and don't have a smart phone anyways.  I just got busy at the wrong time, and frankly, I shouldn't have left an open order on the books.  It's ok, just a few coins, no biggie.  Bitcoin is going up too, not as fast, but still Tongue

I know, that DRKc is really a scam, eh?  I'm sure they trick a lot of people!

Although not exciting it is good to consolidate around here, good volume has gone through, the charts indicate a attend reversal and breakout, taking time to stop for ait means the next leg up will be more dramatic.. I see the next move will be into the 900k area...

Also worth remembering , although the price has risen a bit recently, prior to that it fell for a long time and people bought all the way down. This is still bargain basement drk prices in my eyes and why we are seeing such big moves.

What do we need to do to get the BTC-e owners? Is there some sort of concerted effort and process we could all undertake jointly to influence them? Does anyone have a connection there? I know they haven't added any Alt in more than a year but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. It's just so appalling to see so many people focussing their energies on something that's so lacking in worth when they could be supporting DRK and getting so much more fulfilment (he dreams on....but "arise chikun" followers are probably getting exactly the level of return their naive notions warrant....sigh...)

They are likely huge LTC holders so they aren't gonna risk it. In addition to that, it could be that their programmers have been long gone, and no one knows how to add new coins anymore.

So it seems that what's left is to try to put them out of business. Maybe the upcoming decentralized exchanges will do just that.

Huh

I keep hearing this over and over again.
I realise where the funding is from and that with £XXXXX at your disposal some group can apparently track you down but I have seen NOTHING to convince me it's been compromised.

I am very 'camo-minded' regarding security in that it is all your ducks, or no ducks at all (in a row) if you need to be 100% sure. I just feel that as a single tool (to be used with other tools as well as your own best practises) its still doing what it says on the can.

For all the new people that discovered drk, just take it easy for a few days. Someone is trying too hard to pump this coin right now. Wait until the momentum fades off and then purchase your coins.

The absolute worst people in history, ranked by the wisdom of the crowd: "Vlad the Impaler", "Mihnea the Evil", "Ivan the Terrible" and "Evan the Instaminer".

i think, those big ltc holders will first try to kill drk before they to come the drk side. but it's also possible that they have tried that the last month and are now out of ammo.

Yes I've also been wondering when the old guard is going to run out of funds keeping the status quo...  Sometimes you can just tell the price is being suppressed...

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...
