And, if this version gets pushed to mainnet with instantX disabled it would be open source which is great, better to get that code scrutinized early
Or ripped off, incorporated into a shitcoin and released before ours. Would be interesting. DarkInstantXXXCoinGanja

BTW, can someone clarify this once and for all: is it called Instant TX or InstantX? Threadtitle and I says Instant TX... but most people (even evan) often says InstantX. What gives?

Has Evan even said whether or not the instantx code would be opensourced? I guess my stance is, if it is open sourced, why couldn't BTC add it being that they do have bitnodes across their network? What makes instantx unable to be used in bitcoin besides bitcoin needing to fork? I realize it's based on masternodes, but if the code could be used in bitcoin's bitnodes, what stops btc from having it? Just want to hear the logic behind it because it's singlehandedly one of the most valuable things DRK has.

What gives? a bird told me today that the 2 T's (instan tTx) are fused to a single one. i'am also ok with instant TX. my logo series so far: Nice! I like them all. I think we are still looking for a symbol of a masternode. Any ideas?

Because you can run million BTC nodes with zero coins, so your chances of double spending are actually realistic.

Or ripped off, incorporated into a shitcoin and released before ours. you need a masternode system to run instantX. not that easy for a new copycoin Exactly. Darkcoin currently has a masternode network valued at 1196 * 1000 * .00655 = 7833 BTC. Insofar as our masternode network is well built out and very valuable (read: difficult to replicate securely), Darkcoin has a kind of network effect that will keep competitors at bay.

Yes. Set up a different user for testnet, put testnet=1 in your darkcoin.conf, and open tcp port 19999.

OMG Ppl are panic buying BTC to panic buy DRK!!
It all makes sense!
...i lost faith in crypto after loosing a lot of money... So i if you did not lose money then...? You have to see that the market was declining to 1/3 of BTC ATH over 10 months. So you habe to be very strong to enter such a market without having clear signals of a reversal. Also you have to notice that you are investing against the interest of your government and their centralbanksters. The more and more adoption BTC will become, the more and easily you can dump the coins and there are a lot of coins which were bought for nearly nothing. People who bought over 800$ are already out to cut their loss and they never come back. Be prepared for people dumping BTC wathever the price is. To get to this concusion it takes me a few months. But a loss is only done after you sold your asset and thats the reason i am in DRK and not cut my loss already. DRK is for me the last chance to ever come out without a loss. That doesnt mean i will go out as soon as possible as i like the anon feature and like the freedom of the choice of my fav. Currency. Sorry for your loss. Before you enter the crypto trading you should have developed a trading plan. Did you make any? Any risk/reward, or how much you can lose? I have been at forex for some time before I knew about BTC and enter crypto trading in december. What a ride but I had trading plan. Buying crypto was like opening an order at forex for me but with a much bigger r/r ratio. I bought about 60 alts from then. Every trade was for 0.3-0.5 BTC. 12 profits. The rest went into the toilet. But these losses are so tiny comparing to profits. If you want to trade, make yourself a trading plan. But I thing is to late now because DRK arrived

Because you can run million BTC nodes with zero coins, so your chances of double spending are actually realistic. Basically this. The only reason any of it works is because nodes require money to exist. For BTC or any alt to implement that would require a hard fork.

Kinda answered your own question - I think we all know they won't be doing that If it was a means of getting instant transactions, I wouldn't rule anything out. I know realistically they are against forks unless needed for bugs.... but..... one of the biggest complaints about BTC is 10 min confirms and how impractical it is from a POS standpoint. Just wanted to know if there was anything inherently different other than collaterialing coins per node.

Ask any BTC zealot and you'll get told that instant transactions are no big deal, they certainly aren't going to hardfork BTC for it.
