I've been reading through a tutorial on writing smart contracts and think I'd like a few ethers to play with once I have something up and working. What is a good exchange to go from btc -> ether?

For a quick exchange (without registration), you can give https://shapeshift.io a shot. Otherwise Poloniex has most volume.

Is there any place that describes the POW system used by Ethereum currently and the eventual plans for POS? I'm not talking about in general, I know how POW and POS both work. I want to know specifically how each will be applied to Ethereum going forward. From what I've heard the POS system the Ether team has envisioned will be different than what we've seen before in other currencies

Is there any explanation for Ethereum trade volume? Especially, a couple million spikes from time to time.

Apparently when Bitcoin goes down, Etherium will rise by at least 50% from current price values.

How long is left before all the IPO money that was earmarked to pay developers has been spent, ot has it already gone? Will all the highest paid developers stop developing full time after their wages cease? They need money to live, and have limited spare time to code for nothing.

This is a very interesting computer, although it looks like a Raspberry Pi. It is somewhat similar to the 21 Bitcoin Computer but with Ethereum. I wonder how much it would cost?

Haven't heard of ethereum before but now looking at this micro computer it looks interesting. Glad I stumbled upon this and will be reading those books mentioned above. I will definitely be investing into this project further. Will have something to do during the holiday break now and know what I will asking for this Christmas.

I just withdrew ETH from Cryptsy. The withdrawal says Processed and has a transaction ID, but the transaction isn't on the blockchain. Is there a problem? Please don't tell me I've lost my coins.

I don't mind waiting, but usually when Cryptsy gets backed up it says Pending. If they've got a transaction ID then shouldn't it be on the blockchain unless Cryptsy is on a fork or something?
