ETH staying strong, chances of it overtaking BTC? Looking forward to it Smiley

Now the team of ethereum headed by Vitalik Buterin is working on the transition from POW to POS. This is a great solution! It's foolish to burn electricity into the void ... for the safe operation of the network. I await this moment and passive earnings.

Are you sure they are fully moving from POW to POS? I thought they are planning to create a hybrid of both POS and POW.

One question, after switching from pow to pos will i automatically take part on the pos?

For example I dont wanna get POS coins because in my country you need to hold coins with POS 10 years to be tax free. POW coins are Tax free after 12 months only. So for me it would be very bad to get POS generated tokens. Better for me is when i dont need to take part on POS with my holdings.

The market bleeding has shown that Ethereum has  a strong structure, it has  also, shown that it is a crypto Worth investing in . Although Ethereum  is  not totally immune to the current market bleeding but it resistance to the nagetive effect is very unique.

Does anybody have a idea how I can move my funfair token from myetherwallet ?

Always got the same message:
Insufficient funds. The account you tried to send transaction from does not have enough funds. Required 129200189000000000000000 and got: 1000000000000000000.

I got 1 Ether in that wallet too, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Gas limit is at 21,000

and Gas Price is at 90 Gwei.

try lower gass price and try lower amount that you want to transfer
i think 20 gwei gas price is enough for now because the lowest gas price is 1 gwei at this time on eth network
so 20 gwei gas price is already huge but you could use 20 gwei

Finally, the etherium has gone up, like the whole market! I think the psychological mark of 1200 dollars, he quickly breaks and rush up. I wonder if we will see at the end of the year an etherium for $ 3,000? I think yes! Yes, and the commission for transfers remains small if you do not exhibit a big gwei.

Now it's preparing for this long run I also think bull market is coming back and in coming days there is pretty good chance to go way forward and create new history so many people are entering into this world.

Guys, there are quite a lot smart contract platforms on the market at the moment and new ones are coming. Do you think Ethereum will retain leadership among such a platforms forever? For me, it might be more profitable to invest in lower market cap platforms (Lisk, Qtum EOS, ..) ?

You're making the assumption those lower market cap platforms will see the same kind of attention Ethereum has, and increase in adoption/usage/value at a greater rate than Ethereum (otherwise, it would be by definition, less profitable)....it's a bold assumption Smiley

Dan Larimer gave some explanation while Ethereum would fail in the long run. Anybody saw the interview and has an opinion?

From what I've been reading of Vlad Zamfir's thoroughly enlightening blog posts about Slasher / Casper, a hybrid POW/POS was seemingly ruled out because of how different the consensus/validation mechanism was.
Could anyone here help me understand what changed along the way and how is Casper now going about implimenting Hybrid POW/POS?

If we cross $3K by the end of the year, I think we will definitely overtake bitcoin's number one position on the coinmarketcap.

Welcome to the New Beginning

When the grand experiment that is bitcoin began, the anonymous wizard desired to test two parameters- a trustless, decentralized database enjoying security enforced by the austere relentlessness of cryptography and a robust transaction system capable of sending value across the world without intermediaries. Yet the past five years years have painfully demonstrated a third missing feature: a sufficiently powerful Turing-complete scripting language. Up until this point, most innovation in advanced applications such as domain and identity registration, user-issued currencies, smart property, smart contracts, and decentralized exchange has been highly fragmented, and implementing any of these technologies has required creating an entire meta-protocol layer or even a specialized blockchain. Theoretically, however, each and every one of these innovations and more can potentially be made hundreds of times easier to implement, and easier to scale, if only there was a stronger foundational layer with a powerful scripting language for all of these protocols to build upon. And this need is what we seek to satisfy.

Ethereum is a modular, stateful, Turing-complete contract scripting system married to a blockchain and developed with a philosophy of simplicity, universal accessibility and generalization. Our goal is to provide a platform for decentralized applications - an android of the cryptocurrency world, where all efforts can share a common set of APIs, trustless interactions and no compromises. We ask for the community to join us as volunteers, developers, investors and evangelists seeking to enable a fundamentally different paradigm for the internet and the relationships it provides.

Who is Behind Ethereum?

Our primary core devs are:

  • Vitalik Buterin → Inventor of Ethereum, protocol developer and researcher
  • Gavin Wood →Lead C++ developer
  • Jeffrey Wilcke → Lead Go developer

Primary non-development members include:

  • Anthony Di Iorio → Founder and Executive Director of the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada, Bitcoin Decentral, KryptoKit
  • Mihai Alisie → Founder of Bitcoin Magazine and Egora
  • Joseph Lubin → Software engineer, Quantitative Analyst
  • Stephan Tual → Founder of Ursium, Communications

A more extensive but non-exhaustive list of team members can be found here.

Our ether sale is available at http://ethereum.org ; the site contains all needed instructions.

I have no doubt that 2018 will be Ethereum's year! I am surprised only by those who buy other, low-value coins and believe that they can be better than ETH! They are crazy in my eyes..  Cool Shocked Shocked

"Finally Ethereum has come up and is now preparing for a long run " this didn't come as a supprise to many investors and analys because during this dark days of the market Ethereum distinguish it self from other currencies  by it strong resistanct to the price fall and also taking the lead in price recovering. This alone gains the  investors confidence for the year and beyond.

And do those platforms have a leader with an IQ of 257 like Vitalik Buterin when Albert Einstein and Bill Gates both had an identical IQs of 160? The saying goes whatever the other platforms can do we can do better, why bet on less intelligence?

Stephen Hawking (IQ score of 160).
Marilyn Vos Savant (IQ score of 228) ...
Christopher Hirata (IQ score of 225) ...
Kim Ung-Yong (IQ score of 210) ...
Edith Stern (IQ score of more than 200) ...
Christopher Michael Langan (IQ score between 190 and 210) ...
Garry Kasparov (IQ score of 194) ...
Philip Emeagwali (IQ score of 190)
Vitalik Buterin (IQ score of 257)

Do you see my point?

It seems you  are blind person if you think it working good in term of successful ICOs on that platform than it is not a valid point. Soon smart contract will be enabled on most loved cryptocurrency Bitcoin than it will make the growth skyrocket.

I think it's real, but the market needs to restore bullish sentiments in the beginning!
