When Ethereum rebounded to around 750 dollars, the big probability will drop to less than 600 dollars. Don't worry about the bottom. There will be better opportunities to wait patiently.

I think it can come down to satoshi price of 0.03 which will be a real bargain price.

As usual it will rebound hard in the next cycle, as now most coins are down so eth is also falling along with them

If the ETH price does go to 0.03 bitcoin, I will sell all my BTC for ETH.

Wow reading this is like a historical relic. This forum will literally have digital antiques on it in a decade or so. I've been struggling to find "satoshi nakamotos" posts. That would be such a insight into his/her though process

I would too, but I don't imagine this will happen anytime soon mate Sad

Hi all - i have an idea to stop people using stolen private keys:

1) A wallet monitors its addresses in a block explorer.
2) If a pending transaction appears that WAS NOT sent from the wallet: The wallet immediately creates an identical transaction (or possibly the full balance) to one of its other addresses (possibly with higher fee to prioritize it over the non-wallet transaction).
3) The non-wallet . fraudulent transaction would be cancelled / disappear from the block explorer and the wallet would know not to use that private key ever again.

Its just an idea, but i think its something we should seriously think about implementing in all wallets.

Feedback / criticism welcome.....

Technically this is not possible to keep any transaction pending or reverse because there is no charge back in blockchain tech. What is the parameter to verify the ownership of private keys once anybody got access than he sign message too. Please explain this in details this would work is real.

my understanding is if a transaction is taking a long time to be included in a block, I can resend it and it cancels out the one that was taking a long time. Something to do with the nonce I think.

So could that be used by a wallet to effectively cancel or overwrite unauthorised transactions. The wallet would be the only way to send unless it goes offline or you turn it off the protection off

The mega investors whom are getting out these days are actually a good thing as the coins are becoming more spread out across the globe. This in turn will lessen the volatility over the long haul. This will bring in a new group of investors that have been sitting on the sidelines. These growing pains will not last forever and am fine going on record as saying that the current price will be in hindsight a great time to buy. I for one have bitcoin and ethereum that have been just sitting growing dust for more than a year now. Folks who stare at the market are the folks who take loses and have heart attacks at a young age. Exercise is good for stress and you cant much of it sitting behind the keyboard 7 days a week...
Many investors do not know how to wait. Time is the strongest factor in investing. To make money you just need to wait. For investors, this is very difficult. I've kept the ETH Token for a long time, and I'm not going to sell it yet.

So far your theory of just holding and becoming rich was true, but the past isn't always the best predictor for the future. There might very well be some coins that stay stuck way below their peaks.
Of course, I talked about promising projects. I consider Etherium to be such a project. In fact, the platform is only at the beginning of its development. The platform functionality is much more than just an ICO.

Yesterday, I said that ETH has rebounded for 4 hours in a small scale. At present, the rally is almost in place. We should pay attention to bag.ETH, and we should continue to fall.

It doesn't work quite like that. Ignoring the fact that this would require EVERY wallet software (including online ones, which isn't possible for those ones in any case) to follow such an implementation, one can't create an "identical transaction" that wouldn't go to a scammers/hackers address. If you change the recipient, you've fundamentally changed the transaction, and thus the original transaction would not be "canceled".

In any case, simply raising the transaction fee won't guarantee the 2nd transaction is mined first.

If after selling out so many coins he is still left with over 160K BTCs he must be Richie rich lol. Coz I can't imagine holding that much BTC in my 10 lifetimes.

This is a very good point, which doesn't let me sleep at nights. Actually, the possibility to cancel transactions will bring a lot of mess or, from the other side, there could be a buffer created to hold records for a period of time, I dunno.

Gradually, bitcoin has become more centralized, starting from the production capacities and ending with those who hold very very large numbers in their purses and can play the course. I hope that the etherium does not repeat the same mistakes all the same, it is much more flexible in this matter.

I was here four years ago, but I didn't get into ethereum ICO, so I regret more.
I was too frustrated with the dump of bitcoin back then.

Mt Gox  sellathon is not going to end any time soon. I take back what I said a few days ago about being a good entry point. Let all the markets go to hell until they are almost done, which could be a very long time. Any market gains will be wiped out quick whenever they feel like it for a long time to come. 2018 is not going to be the year for crypto.

That is just horse shit.    652,673 BTC   have exchanged in the last 24 hours.     Him selling 12,000 at a time or whatever did not cause any major dip in the market.   Even when people plotted the dates on the daily chart,  it was random and the market easily absorbed the sells.  People just want to look for reason of the market correcting when in fact, this is just a market correction.  These sells along with many others occurred because we went up way too high, too fast.

Oh Wow, Vitalik used be on Bitcointalk! Too bad like Satoshi he is also not active here. Between I think Ethereum is currently strongest coin out there. No matter how many blood baths happen, it quickly rebounces back to somewhat stable prices. Just today I heard about the term "flippening", which is ETH having more market capitalization than Bitcoin. Sounds impossible right now, but might happen in future. There is this site also, which tracks how much flippening is done. https://www.flippening.watch/ Do you guys think it is possible for ETH to flip BTC this year itself?
