What's your guess for the SLR/BTC price when it hits a decent exchange in the next couple of days?

My guess is that it hits around 0.0005 - 0.0006  BTC and then after the first wave settles around 0.00002 BTC

How much coins are mined to be on market? I think, if solarcoin mission is honest, the price should be higher than mentioned. People implementing and supporting solar panels deserve more from one solarcoin=megaWatt.
If the coin is fake, the largest premine coin, then these initial values are ok.

Some news from devs are needed. Or my mining power is spent for the next pump and dump or epic fail coin...

That would be acceptable, I could sell some of my coins to get my investment back from the miner I bought. But to be honest, I have no idea how the price of these coins is even determined on these exchanges. Also the design and structure of this particular coin makes that determination even more difficult to predict.

I've been doing a lot of research the past few weeks, connecting a lot of dots, getting my mind blown on occasion and have come to the conclusion that this is most definitely a coin I intend to keep.

But I could be wrong, I often am. Smiley

We are hard at work on a dedicated exchange.
Here is the mock-up very very beta page.
http://solcrypto.jimdo.com/
Plus, the exchange will be Peer-to Peer.
Please vote on the poll and thanks for your time. Wink
No fees on the exchange. Because, we want this currency to build long-term. We are in it for long-term, less carbon in the atmosphere.
When you are mining SLR, please consider your electricity usage and/or ways to source renewable energy or at least energy efficiency. I saw that ASIC low power consumption USB's Block Erupters for scrypt are not made yet, but when they are released then low power mining can develop and excited to see that.

Are the devs making any effort to get SLR listed on an exchange? It's been awfully quiet on that front....

Seems to me they are concentrating their efforts more towards getting the distribution network up and running for granting SLR's to users from the big generation pool (the 99.4% pre-mined coins). The mining side of the equation is pretty tiny if you consider the big picture. The mined coins will only represent 0.1% of all coins assuming the long-term objective for this coin becomes a reality over the coming years. There are more coins to be had from the genesis pool (0.5%) than from mining! LOL

If I had any programming skills whatsoever, I'd be creating an Android wallet or something to help the average folks who get their coins from solar production. I suspect the volunteers who do that sort of thing will end up getting a nice chunk of the pie down the road.

Given all that, I'm really not surprised there isn't a big "pump and dump/get it on an exchange" focus from the devs themselves. And I'm OK with that. Their target market clearly isn't crypto miners. Wink

I can't wait to see the announcements regarding the big roll out to solar producers! Should be soon I hope. But I sincerely hope that the Mac wallet is available before they do this. I have a number of green co-workers/friends who are crazy excited about this coin but can't get a wallet yet because they're Mac users. I know the techy geeks will roll their eyes at this but it is what it is. The target market for this coin are people who aren't necessarily technologically superior but are passionate about the environment, these people need simple solutions in order for this coin to truly gain traction in the coming months. Getting it on an exchange ASAP almost seems inconsequential when viewed from that perspective.

That's not to say I'm not anxious for it to get on an exchange, I am. But if it takes a few more weeks, I'm good with that too. Gives me time to mine some more coins with my measly 450 khs.  Roll Eyes
