Why would someone buy SLR for 1000 satoshis on bittrex, when there are sell orders on allcrypt for less than 500 satoshis?
Someone who doesn't care to dicker over 0.25 cents? When I trade solarcoins, I like to tell myself that each SLR = $1. It's more exciting that way. Or it could be someone who read about SolarCoin today (there was a mention in a CoinDesk article) and has an account at Bittrex and just bought some? That is more likely the case.

Dead coin or pretty much alive and growing coin?
Not even close to dead my friend. We've been crawling for a few months, tried to stand up but stumbled a little, learned a thing or two and now about to stand up for the first time. We are 6 months into a 40 year lifespan, I'd say we're keeping pace.

well, someone seems to be sick of seeing the low prices and is buying quite a bit of SLR on bittrex.
There's quite a hefty buy wall there too at 375. Note: That's not me buying, by the way. Sadly, new tires for my car take precedence. It's not me either. I usually buy in smaller chunks of 1,000 to 10,000 SLR at a time. It'll be interesting to see if somebody dumps into that ~1BTC bid or if the buyer will eventually have to buy into the ask to get the amount they want.

Dead coin or pretty much alive and growing coin?
From an organizational development standpoint, about to become more alive than ever before. We had our second Board meeting yesterday and minutes will hopefully be ready to publish to the community within the next few days. Some important decisions were made.

The Bittrex circles on the top right showing the buys/sales 50 levels deep has changed dramatically in the last week. Many more buys showing up compared to offers. Keep an eye on that, it seems to be signalling a change.

Let all the premine lose and then we will see the whole value.. if there is any.
But how would that incentive solar energy? Are the miners just supposed to give up their rewards for the cause? Where does that leave the first investors who believe in the currency? Where will the incentive come from? Why am I even asking you these questions? Why is the sky blue? Can turtles fly? Where do babies come from? Maybe we should ask wall street investors to just lend corporations their money in return for what? Gratitude? The general consensus is that "premine" is evil, but that is because with most coins the premine is solely for the dev to make a quick buck. But with solarcoin, the premine is what allows for solar power grants, which will ultimately be the source of value for this coin. If you get rid of solarcoin's premine, solarcoin will die, and the entire purpose behind the project will be null and void. The problem is that there is no way to verify where the coins are going. He could easily claim that he paid this and that and actually dump the coins. Besides...what are people going to do with the coin? Nothing. They just dump it to cover cost. Can you do something else? By the time the distribution end we will either have thorium reactors or nuclear fussion

By the time the distribution end we will either have thorium reactors or nuclear fussion The main flaw in your argument is, Buck Rogers was supposed to be lost in time somewhere around 1987. Also there is a way to verify where the coins are going by following something called a "blockchain". Also Solarcoin is a currency vehicle, what can't you do with currency? Just because I don't accept Mexican Pesos doesn't mean someone else, say in Mexico doesn't.

Any idea what the new block reward will be? 1 to 5 solarcoins every minute would really make the price go up.

The Board hasn't decided that yet, but several possibilities have been discussed. The general feeling is that if we reduce it, to do it gradually over a period of anywhere from several weeks to several months, but no consensus yet on the details. There's also the question of whether to reduce the block reward before switching to PoS or wait and do it as part of a switch to PoS. There are both economics considerations (currency valuation and attractiveness to generators) and technical considerations (security of the network). Please be patient on this; it was the one thing the Board didn't have time to reach a decision yet in our recent meeting. It's the next thing on our list to decide about.
