Most MAX miners are provably retarded so why should anyone sponsor their bullshits? Investors are supposed to prevent price for falling or even make it go up but a horde of retards are still allowing 51% attacks which inevitably and always end up with price drops. Investors are supposed to put serious money into MAX but risk losing everything if exchanges become attacked and thus stop MAX trading possibly for all times. Dream on.
Nothing has changed for the better since my last post on this thread so no reason for price to stay where it is now. It should and will go down.
Blame the Chinaman.

My BEST settings for minig Maxcoin (MAX) with mining rig with 3x Sapphire R9 290X 4GB DDR5 (5000MHz)Windows maxcoin mining:1) Software- Windows 7 64bit - cgminer 3.7.3 - modified for mining keccak - http://maxdl.1gh.com/cgminer-windows.zip- AMD Catalyst 14.2 - http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2064 - Do not install any supporting AMD software for 3D, audio etc. from the Catalyst, only graphic driver and SDK. - Maxcoin wallet for windows - http://maxcoin.co.uk/ (Copy your maxcoin address from the wallet to cgminer.conf *) 2) Create starting BAT file for cgminer- delete all .BAT files from the ZIP - create file START.bat in the folder with cgminer.exe - paste inside this setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 cgminer.exe --keccak --config cgminer.conf %1
3) Create CONFIG file for cgminer- create file cgminer.conf in the folder with cgminer.exe - paste inside cgminer.conf these my best settings for 3x AMD R9 290X - your mined maxcoins will be send to your maxcoin address *) { "pools" : [ { "url" : "stratum+tcp://erebor.dwarfpool.com:3339", "user" : "HERE-PLACE-YOUR-OWN-MAXCOIN-ADDRESS", "pass" : "x" }, { "url" : "stratum+tcp://moria.dwarfpool.com:3339", "user" : "HERE-PLACE-YOUR-OWN-MAXCOIN-ADDRESS", "pass" : "x" } ], "intensity" : "13,13,13", "lookup-gap" : "0,0,0", "thread-concurrency" : "32765,32765,32765", "shaders" : "0,0,0", "gpu-engine" : "1025,1025,1025", "gpu-fan" : "54-80,54-80,54-80", "gpu-memclock" : "1500,1500,1500", "gpu-memdiff" : "0,0,0", "gpu-powertune" : "20,20,20", "gpu-vddc" : "1.049,1.049,1.049", "temp-cutoff" : "92,92,92", "temp-overheat" : "85,85,85", "temp-target" : "80,80,80", "auto-fan" : true, "api-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "120", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-platform" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "1", "hotplug" : "5", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "no-submit-stale" : true, "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "60", "keccak" : true, "failover-only" : true, "temp-hysteresis" : "3", "shares" : "0", "kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin" } 4) Mining maxcoin- Mine using maybe 2nd largest maxcoin pool http://dwarfpool.com/max (already present in cgminer.conf) - Your mining statistics will be here http://dwarfpool.com/max/address?wallet=HERE-PLACE-YOUR-OWN-MAXCOIN-ADDRESS- Do NOT mine on the 1GH pool, unless you want to LOSE your investment - (1GH pool has over 51% so there is a high risk of collapsing maxcoin itself) - Start mining by run START.bat 5) Numbers and profit- One R9 290X is mining at top 465Mh/s - All rig is mining 3 x 465 = 1395 Mh/s - Rig is taking 800W mining keccak instead of 1100W mining scrypt - With difficulty oscillating around 65.000, I mine around 34 maxcoin/day - With difficulty oscillating around 85.000, I mine around 26 maxcoin/day - You need to sell 1 MAX at least 0.00065 when 34 max/day or - You need to sell 1 MAX at least 0.00085 when 26 max/day - Do NOT sell it cheaper, otherwise you are loosing money, so better mine some other coin like litecoin itself- If there is too low exchange rate, just place your sell order with high rate and forget about it for 2 weeks. If you feel generous here are my tipjars:- MAX: mcdtvi5vsDyEGE4xsK9xd9338CFP1GPMTU - BTC: 14tZe74fuDDYNEwdxxmS39RpQPZxZBL2FL - LTC: LLP6B8tV7Tfgstoadrj38RDGkHuUwQMKBa

Pckomp, you should lower the mem clock as much as possible in order to save power. You'll not lose hashes.

Do you work for the electric company?? A memclock of 1500Mhz for maxcoin is ridiculous, it is not memory dependent. I had memclock all the way down to 50Mhz, made for a couple of days of cheap & cool mining. Alas, it didn't last long.. When I began mining it, it was at 0.0045 btc and I held the coins. But after a week it dropped below 0.0015 so I sold them all and returned to mining the ususal scrypt coins. I see it is now at 0.0006, dead as disco I'm afraid.

Come to our pool! Please, mine in smaller pools rather in giant 1gh. http://maxcoin.miningpoolhub.comIt currently serves 263.92 GH/s now. Not too small but can mine together. - 0% Fee - US / Asia servers Can mine other coins with single sign up. (sexcoin, helixcoin as well) Please don't mine at 1gh. 1gh is a big giant dominating about 60~70% of hash power. very good pool !!!

I got in @0.005BTC/MAX, like many others. I expect it to rise again to that price soon.

I agree, I loaded up at around this level also. I think it's a great entry to MaxCoin. As soon as money starts pouring back in to alts investors will be looking for value, and MaxCoin is a glaringly obvious choice. I personally believe the PR machine for MaxCoin is not even begun. This is a unique opportunity to accumulate very low price coins.

My BEST settings for minig Maxcoin (MAX) with mining rig with 3x Sapphire R9 290X 4GB DDR5 (5000MHz)
I've just started mining max using the dwarfpool pools but after 2 hours i've receive no MaxCoins, how long do you normally to have to wait for a payout? With exactly the same configuration I get payments from 1gh every 20 minutes.

So far 9 out of 10 web cryptocoin wallets ended up hacked and people lost all or most of coins so I don't see MAX web wallet as a positive move. Developers should better add Coin Control to Maxcoin-Qt, see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144331.0
