Some coins failed after ICO for a lot of reasons, bad advertisement, the fact that bitcoin is currently in stagnation brings no value to alts, except if there is a lot of investors /backers, and also when there is a lot of investors the more they come. Or another reason are poor Marketing strategy, no support system, fundamentals are unstable, investors are already committed to other coins project.

I think ICO failed cause the community didn't bigger enough so the investor don't buy much token in the ICO phase so the ICO will fail, and when their ICO doesn't success so they leave their ICO or even become SCAM ICO

Yes it's safer to wait for coin to stabilize but you're missing the golden opportunity to make insane levels of profit if you chose a solid ICO. It's the same as startup companies, if you invest when they're underdeveloped you'll make ton of money or lose all. Investing in something is always a risk but I personally love  investing in ICOs.

Some projects are purely false, people know their real situation, so they will not invest. There are also projects that have failed in the marketing plan. There is no wide spread to attract investors.
