You can still DL the older FW if you know the exact filename:
http://www.innosilicon.com.cn/download/b29+_20180706_042116.swu e.g.
Can anybody post the FW name of 07/18? Thx

Thanks, did not know that.  The 7/18 file name is: b29+_20180718_055037.swu

However, 7/18 firmware caused me the following issues:  very slow to reach peak hash rate (~30 min), and caused many HW errors.  7/20 (7/06?) firmware resolved both of these issues for me.

Are you getting the full 50k hashrate?

I had the same issues with the 7/18 firmware.  I'm getting ~50k on 2 A9 and only ~40k one 1.  I've tried everything I can think of to get the hash rate up on the slow one, but nothing seems to make a difference.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I have tried many pools and never ever touch 50k speed ! 45k is maximum speed, but it's rarely to reach that point.

FW before 7/18 works good.  7/18 has weird hash rate ramp up problems on the admin webpage, but i think it might just be how they are averaging the hash rate into a buffer as time goes on.  if you look at hash rate at the pool you are mining on, it should be normal.

I reverted back to 7/18 firmware with no problems on zhash.  I wont upgrade firmware again until I hear news of "performance" mode actually working, or if there is a cracked version with SSH access so I can overclock this thing.

Hy Guys,   Smiley Smiley

Im new in Crypto mining. I bought 7 mashines today/tomorrow DHL will deliver. I payed 6700$ with shipment, VAT and PSU. My friend will install and connect all.

Any suggestion from you guys what I need to know?

And Im planing to buy 10-20 more coming 2 weeks time for the same price. Is it good investment or is it to late? Help.

Is it possible to publish picture on forum here?

Thanks

Would suggest you don’t buy anymore. The next batch of Z9 minis will be shipping in August and within 2 week time period you stated for any of your new orders. The return on capital for even the 7 you have would be a bit difficult unless you proactively mine profitable coins and cash in on the highs.

Also if your username is anything to go by, I would also suggest you sell a couple of your miners at a good profit in Dubai. There should be people interested and with the cash, from what I’ve seen. Just make a listing on one of the local classifieds or here with a margin you see fit and start mining. If someone is happy to take you up on the offer, you make a quicker recovery on your initial expenditure, else you keep reaping in your mining rewards. Just keep all doors open.

What's the command line you're using.

I'm doing ./hashcat64.bin -1 abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789 -d 1 -a 3 -m 1800 example.hash ?1?1?1?1?1

..oh looks like it's working now..

hashcat -m 1800 -a 3 --increment -O --session 8char --outfile ~/hashcat.txt ~/hash.txt ?a?a?a?a?a?a?a?a

That says it'll take 290 years for me Smiley. Using upper case alpha characters really ups the entropy. I get 45 days if it's just alphanumerics. Could split that up?

You mean 6700$ per unit, right?

It is a common phenomenon that people that are "new to mining" just see the quick profits. I would be careful. There are a lot of people out there that also see the big profits and bought a lot of Z9s and Innosilicon also does not stop producing A9s. So the difficulty wil rise soon and crash our profits. Thats the circle  Wink

Think of it a different way: These machines mine you coins. Do you think, they will mine you more coins than you could buy with the same amount of money you invested for the machines?

Is anyone having trouble with their A9 memory leaking?  My memory usage slowly increases until it is fully used up and my machine crashes.  Takes about 20h run-time to do this.  I have been having to manually reset the device (or switch pools) from browser control center to clear memory (and prevent crash)... been pretty annoying.  If it crashes from memory leakage, then I cannot access browser and have to physically go to device and reset.

With the current profitability he has ROI in around 94 days. Logical until the end of the August profitability will remain around the same level. So lets say that he has left with 64 days left.
The question is how bad can be the situation at the beginning of September and especially at the end where the Z9 will have been dispatched?

Inno has them for $5k each at the beginning of July. Why are you willing to pay $6.7k now (after 21 days, when it has made about $1.5k per miner), but not $5k at the start of the month? Because you are down $3k + per machine compared to buying from Inno on 1st July.

It would be interesting to know how many units Innosilicon produced so far.
Here is my theory and the reason why I bought the A9:
I GUESS they did not manage to produce so many units at once and release relatively small batches at higher prices. I GUESS they rushed them out a bit, thats why the firmware is a bit beta. They might have wanted to get their miners on the market, even in relatively small batches before Bitmain - and they succeed. If they produces crazy amounts of batches, the difficulty and profitability would have been messed up a lot more.
But now 2 factors kick in: Bitmain floods the market soon. And also Innosilicon ramps up the A9 production.
If you buy now, you also get only one now and the other one at a time the profitability will be lower. So you get one at 10k$ at half the income until September compared to the first "buy one get one free" at which you got your 2 miners immedeately.

The interesting thing about this situation compared to other ASIC releases is, that (big) coins do not fork so fast this time. And its not Bitmain that releases the ASIC. I have the feeling that Bitmain has more production power and releases giant batches and crashes the market immedeately. Innosilicon send one batch from another production facility than the other. That makes me guess, they could not concentrate high production capacity at one place.

Hey, though the difficulty will rise alot specially in August end as more miners will be in circulation. But if you're still interested in buying more a9, let me know I can get you a better price than that & also help you out with the customs.
I'm interested in buying an A9. What kind of prices are available, aside from Inno (10K for 2) and from Ebay (8K for one)?

I got 2 A9
Both of it, hang 1 time from 28June till now. I didnt know the reason and why.
One of it need to manually restart it. Another one just need to remote reboot it.

Did anyone A9 got the hang issue before?
Thanks!
