I don't think there is any at this moment. Someone's probably making one right now though.

It looks like ypool has found 98 out of the last 100 blocks, (they didn't get 4091, 4124).  Currently at block 4171.  Not very decentralised.

If I was ypool, I would pay Gatra not to release the p2pool software.

Well ... I guess this not how it works ... People (normally) see the good in things. The pool guys might have thought about it, but ethics, education (and even a good parenthood) teaches you the opposite, which in turn is good for society (or community in our case, because we are a 'special' subculture of the society).

I'm not saying that's what they did, I'm sure Gatra has plenty to do.  However I think the time has passed that a coin with a new proof of work can be released without also providing some pool code, preferably p2pool, because it's decentralised.

Yes it's within range of normal, although with a slight tad of bad luck. My 3770k i7 (8 cores) has been running for almost a full day now, and I am currently getting 1.8 shares/hour (5.3 2ch/s).

The good news is, on ypool, shares last for 40 rounds for Riecoin, so luck averages out. Considering ypool is currently finding 24 blocks/hour, a share will count for nearly 2 hours worth.

Thanks. My Xeon is several years old so it should be slower than an i7. Ypool finds 1400 blocks (70,000 RIC) per day at 12.5 share/s. So 1 share/hour means 70,000/12.5/3600=1.55 RIC/day

That is comparable to XPM two months after launch. Riecoin is hard to mine from the biginning. This is perhaps not good for RIC because people like to be able to get many number of coins (like Doge).

Edit: ypool finds 513 blocks in the last 24 hours at 12.3 share/s now. 1 share/hr amongts to  513*50/12.3/3600 = 0.58 RIC/day  Sad  This is not going to be worth it.

The highest XPM got was about 0.016BTC in the second wave after the peak of initial release. I don't think RIC is going to do better than XPM. What does RIC offer that XPM doesn't as a crptocurrency?

Anyone still using CandyPool? If so is there a way to set the .bat to reconnect?

I keep getting my miner shutting off and don't want to sit here and resatrt it.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

You can't compare the price of a single coin between coins with different amounts minted.  XPM has an infinite supply, and the block time is a lot shorter.  RIC has one of the slowest block times of any recently released coin, and the total reward is limited, so is scarcer.  The more appropriate comparison is market cap.

RIC offers a different scientific proof of work.  It may be complimentary to XPM, but it's not redundant.

Wow, the finances for Riecoin just doesn't work, does it. I now have 26 cores on Riecoin, and it only finds about 0.05 Riecoin per hour, which works out to 0.0024 BTC per day.

Those same cores, while mining Yacoin gets around 400 Yacoin per day, or 0.01079 BTC per day.

I'll give it a 24 hour run and see if it improves, but so far things don't look good.

At this point mining Riecoin doesn't even pay for its electricity use. It has to come up to around 0.01btc to be a mining-competitive coin.

Well CPU mining in general is not very profitable .. i just do it in parallel with GPU mining due to the configuration of my systems.

That said if we reach XPM levels i'd be very happy.. since i was only getting about 16 XPM / day, whereas I'm getting triple that with RIC.

Can someone with Linux affinity pls test this Linux build: http://go.ispire.me/1vo and tell me 1. if it's running and 2. if it's giving you any speed advantages/disadvantages compared to your own build of xptminer. Thanks!

Has anybody heard anything about GPU miners for Riecoin? I've searched, but nothing comes up - the coin isn't famous enough yet to draw attention of GPU miners developers, IMHO.

Most likely, a GPU miner will eventually be created, but will take significant development time. With the somewhat-similar Primecoin, GPU miners still haven't been released that work significantly better than CPUs, and various CUDA and OpenCL projects attempting to implement primecoin mining on a GPU have either failed or launched with very poor results.
