Riecoin Big Expose.
-- When rie coin first started, the block was not even able to mine by solo mining or wallet mining. It was so hard, until ypool jh00 created a optimize miner and we start getting blocks.
But did you realise that the block keep increasing despite we using the "rminerd" that is given to us by the Developer.
What I think is the developer got his own optimized miner and he mine all the block at early stage of Riecoin and we the miner here are given a broken miner. If nobody was getting blocks at start, why is the block keep increasing so fast despite the miner is broken.
Think about it, nowadays a lot of "zero premine" coin like Maxcoin, Riecoin
but when they initially start, the miner or wallet sure have issues with mining, yet the blocks keep increasing. [/size]
+10000000 agree, and the result we can see today. Nothing from exchange, price got 3 zero, getting 4 zero soon. Personally, i will not trust any ypool promoted coins any more.

Just a thought from my behalf:
This coin should probably relaunch in a more favorable conditions. Currently, we almost have no updates, and the price is dumped so low it is risky to involve too much of a free time to get a better insight in how this algorithm works and in what way we could improve it for the community.
Another thing I didn't like about this coin was the dedicated miner which appeared along with the wallet, without any clear documentation or at least performance comparison. With ambitiously long block time, this leads to a lot of miners giving up as they are finding no blocks at all and again have no chance or time to analyze the coding provided.
The market of RIE clearly shows the biggest miners are getting a lot of this coin and at almost no cost, which is a clear indication of botnets riding on the wave of initial hype coming with this new POW.
The concept of the coin definitely is promising and I appreciate some of you are trying to build a community, but maybe we should think of relaunching the coin. If we are aiming at the increasingly high results, this algorithm might be changed to have ever increasing block time to some soft limit (say 10 minutes). That might enable finding relatively fast blocks at the beginning, attracting more interested miners, and as the time passes, aiming for the real records.
Yours, CB
Thanks for the thoughts. Question. Doesn't this problem eventually resolve itself by way of more pools and the big players selling off what they mined initially so there is more distribution? Someone bought 5000RIC just this morning. . . Or is inevitable that this coin would be dominated like this forever? I ask because I'm new. I've also seen my RIC lose %50 value and I've been working on a video the last couple days to promote it.

Riecoin Big Expose. speculation without proof and general whining and crying deleted ... If you think what I say is true, please repost it.
I think you don't have a clue. I started mining with the stock wallet miner after the 'zero RIC' blocks where gone (with 48 cores) and found 1 block a day later. Only after ypool came online, I switch more cores from XPM to RIC. Since then I found 3 blocks with ypool and got around ~150 RIC for that, mining in the pool. If someone would have a highly optimized miner: a) If would have received far less than 150 RIC mining in the pool and more importantly b) ypool it self would see a lot less blocks mined If you are still not convinced search the blockchain for suspicious transactions ... I bet you won't find any. Now take the tinfoil hat of get outside and breathe some fresh air! one4many I also agree this guy don't have a clue. Reposting this instead of the other guy who seems he is mad because it's not GPU.

I don't really believe that Gatra has had his own optimized version of the miner. Even if he did, he wouldn't be able to mine a majority of starting blocks unless he owns a super large botnet. This was the first fair coin launch that I saw and I think this is why people feel like it was 'hard to mine'. Only 200k Riecoin were created within the first three days. In comparison, Primecoin generated 600.000 XPM within the same timespan. Everyone complaining should just move on and insta-mine the next coin.
Regarding the low value, Poloniex and all the other small exchanges don't really have any buy support at the moment. The value can only go down there. Just take a look at Poloniex stats: Sell Orders Total: 24345.77892931 RIC Buy Orders Total: 2.35857895 BTC There are only 300.000 RIC in existence. This means Riecoin only has a market cap of around 200 000 USD. Even the worst of the clone coins have more than that, it is only a matter of time until value shoots up. If you believe in Riecoin it would be a good time to actually buy more RIC and wait for the big exchanges to add it.

This is one of the best altcoins to come out this year. This one and Huntercoin. Both are very undervalued. Like JH00 said, buy now while they are cheap.

I completely agree that this coin was fairly launched. People in my position had the time to study the proof-of-work and start work on their own miner implementations in advance. As for me, I did not have the time until last weekend. I spent about 4 hours implementing my own optimized miner and it is only slightly faster than jh00's implementation. I will continue to mine both Riecoin and Primecoin. And at this time, I am much more interested in optimizing the miner than I am interested in the coin's current market value - this coin is only a few days old. So far, my implementation uses 16,777,216 sieving primes with a 240-bit primorial. This weekend, if time permits, I will search for better pseudo-primorials.

Hey dev, since you're online, care to post what the plan is from here? Any other plans to make this coin a lot more unique?

I wish that wallet could be overhauled a bit. It loads slower than any other wallet and all graphics is simply copied from BTC. I understand this isn't interesting for cryptocoin-design-geniuses, but perhaps someone else could be given the task to make it look as cool and smooth as DarkCoin or similar?

New client version released, with more uniqueness: "the first coin with an official release addressing the transaction malleability problem". ypool is getting all the blocks (btw this proves there is no super secret super solo super miner), which doesn't look good for decentralization. The priority is getting other pools online. After that, we'll look good for major exchanges and we'll be ready for prime time! I'd like to thank all the poeple for the support and interest put in Riecoin! gatra

Indeed; they were expecting the instamine. Nowadays a coin without instamine or premine (for bounties, we promise!) is considered bad. Scammers scamming scammers, etc. Try microcoins. The fairest coin ever!

Thanks for the update! Boost of confidence right there. But any future plans? Maybe incorporate coin mixer or something? Just curious. Sorry if it sounds rude.

Of course I'd like to add as many features as possible, but it's been less than 2 weeks and there is no p2pool yet. Let's give it time to mature. Maybe you (or anyone) could start a poll or a discussion on wanted features for the future, so I could use it as a guide. Current plans are p2pool first and block explorer and gpuminer next.

I am now receiving the following error message with your latest Windows client while on testnet: block with too much proof-of-work
However, the original Windows client works fine, any ideas?
