Can someone please explain to me in simple terms how this difficulty thing works?  When and how does it increase or decrease?  How does it effect coins in circulation?  Where can I check the current difficulty level for KARM?  Also, wth is KGW and how does it help this coin?
Difficulty is calculated based on the network hash rate and is meant to keep a single block to be solved around 1 minute, it currently gets recalculated every 240 blocks (which should average to around 240 minutes) currently though multiminers are coming in and mining while the difficulty is low thus increasing the network hashrate and solving blocks in much less time than it's supposed to be. They then leave once the difficulty is recalculated after the 240th block leaving us then stuck on a higher difficulty with less network hash rate causing blocks to take much longer to be solved. KGW will resolve this issue with calculating difficulty much sooner if the hash rate drops.

won't that in turn, allow the multiminers to jack the diff up more frequently?

ZPOOL - the miners multipool! Support We pay 10 FLUX Parallel Assets (PA) directly to block rewards! Get paid more and faster. No PA fee's or waiting around for them, paid instantly on every block found!

Yes but, that's if they choose to mine the coin now since they can't manipulate it to their advantage. I.E they mine on low diff so they get coins more frequently, when they where mining at the lower diff they were able to get coins as fast as every 17 seconds (that's the lowest block time i've seen, it could have gotten lower) but now it'll be 1 minute no matter what.
EDIT: The important thing to remember though is if they leave we will no longer be getting stuck on a ridiculous difficulty with block times over 4 minutes anymore.

Thanks spitfire.  Do you know how/where I can check the current diff?

http://explorer.karmacoin.info/chain/Karmacoin it's also displayed on pools as well. You can go to any pool and click the pool statistics page and it will show the current difficulty.

You think it's really worth the speculation? EDIT: I think there's way too much pressure from dumpers, for this coin to go anywhere real soon with no real support (like 500-1000 btc interest in it).
I got 11.5 mil so when greed lights up lol I could defo go for some more coins lol.
