Finally only 2 hours left until the gravity code kicks in.  These multiminers are tough!

Looking for volunteers to help with the following

1) Logo creation
2) Searching/tagging articles of people doing good things
3) Contacts within media outlets to help get coverage

PM me here if you are interested

Thanks

Three words.

SMALL IMPORTANT CAUSE

Get behind one you feel strongly about that the community can mostly fund (ie, consider current market cap) and we'll get behind that too. There will be someone out there (in Karmacoin community) who can do the appropriate real world phone calls and introductions to actually make it happen assuming it can't all be done through social media.

As the coin grows, get behind larger causes.

One of the first initiatives to grow the community is to get writers/bloggers/etc to put a 'Give Karma' button on articles that are about people who are doing good.  Readers will be able to show their appreciation to the stranger by giving Karmacoin, and will be able to see what others have given.   The ideal connections would be to online news outlets like giants like CNN or local news like Patch.  Initially we will be able to just provide a snipped or URL people can embed in their Tumblr blog or Facebook post.

Looking for feedback/help on best way to get to the people at places like that who can make the call to allow the link.

I simply can not give this a high enough high five. To the point that this will be my own personal marketing endevour in the very distant future for a website I would build. I'd give all article writers and any member making posts a personalized button that other members can click and send cons to if they like what the member contributed to the website. Additionally, I will personally offer promotions out of my own bag of coins to encourage new member joinings, forum posts, image uploads, product analysis..and the list goes on. I've purchased 1 billion Colossus Coins to hand out as "good karma" and as "tips" to contributors. Although Colossus Coin is great for my plans, I simply decided on them because I was not able to purchase a billion TIPS coins before they skyrocketed and simply have not mined/bought enough Karma coins to make their use a feasible option at this point (that could change). That said, Karma Coins and TIPS are a killer choice for what you want to do!!!

Both my locally fully updated client and the block explorer http://explorer.karmacoin.info/chain/Karmacoin both seem to be stuck on block 10486 for at least 40 minutes now.

Are we having a bad hard fork or nobody's mining anymore to solve the next block ?

Yup I was just about to post this as well.  I went as far as to delete everything and completely re-download the blockchain to be sure.  It should NOT have been 40+ minutes since the last block with 1.1GH on the network.

2 more blocks to go!! Also I'll see what I can come up with as far as maybe a wordpress blog with karma integration. Have a bit of experience with coding for wordpress now since I made my doge coin tip bot for wordpress.

EDIT: AND KGW IS LIVE!!! YAY!!!

EDIT 2: Is it just me or does anybody else notice it seems to be targeting for a 30 second block time? First few blocks have had insanely low difficulty and block times around 30 seconds.

EDIT 3: And it's dropping even lower now.... 15 second block times and going down...

Yup, it is like it is going backwards.  I think the gravity well may have been implemented wrong.  Oh ShiT!

What is going on to fix this?

This seems to be a problem.

Some communication would be nice.

Dude, it just happened.  They are probably scrambling to fix it.  Those mining now will be rewarded nicely if they can fix this.

We're working on it/analyzing it now.  It is going back up now quickly but the transition seems to have made it drop to nothing for a few minutes.

Yea, no immediate fix will be available if they need to patch it. They'll need to give people time to update wallets so nobody forks down the wrong path. This will be good for us miners for a bit.

It's been pretty erratic so far. going as low as 1 then going back to 4 and dropping to 1 again..
EDIT; It does seem to be on a steady rise now, those first 40 blocks have been nice to me Smiley

Thanks.. I checked, and it seems that there are less coins released per minute than before block 10500. I just wanted to be sure that miners were not being rewarded with coins at too high a rate.

We were rewarded at first.  I mined over 200k KARM before this block seemed to stick on my pool.  Looks like the diff is adjusting but not being reflected in cgminer now.  Should rectify itself soon I am sure.

Yea I got about 40K mining @ just shy of 1Mh/s in the first 25 blocks after KGW kicked in.

Why does it seem the nethash is down when it is obviously up?  I think it will take a while for this thing to adjust because the Diff is creeping up.  Over 400k KARM for me so far at 6.5 MHs!  Grin

I'm in the process of implementing some cryptocoin games.
Do you think this is better suited to karmacoin or dogecoin? Or both?

http://pool.karmacoin.info is taking well over 50% of the hash according to their dashboard but i have a feeling the nethash reading is off....  There must be tons of people mining at this diff.
