Did anyone else see Wolverhampton's goal which was disallowed by another controversial VAR call ? Goal or not ?

I'm still not entirely sure if it was offside.

It never should have been an offside call imo, Let's analyze this way, the corner was played short to Jota(which definitely according to the rules can't be offside right ? And it was played back to who ever took the corner (he was clearly onside too, as shown in the screenshots below), He crossed the ball into the box (then Jota was totally eliminated from the play, he has no influence whatsoever on the play) How was that ever even a call to be reviewed to begin with ? There was absolutely no protest from any Leceister player, not even the staffs.

Well that's what I was thinking and other people were saying that was the case, but the commentators or pundits after the game didn't bring that up, and how would all the officials get that wrong? Must have been something else going on surely to allow it? Regardless, this is another example of VAR going out of their way and looking for something. Not a single player Leicester player complained. Things should only be reviewed at request of the team or manager.

The offside call was for the guy who was taking the corner. He played short ball and when player returned it to him, his trailing leg (tip of the heel) was still few millimeters behind last defender. Totally stupid, but there you have it.

Totally crap. I had a big parlay with wolves to win (and what great value that was), but that wasn't even the point, this is yet another reason for me to hate VAR so far. Btw there is a bet for wolves to win a champs league spot at 24/1. Good for anyone or they can't win games enough?

Btw did anyone hear about City ban in CL? Huge news but I haven't read into it... Pep will leave almost for sure without european football. And they will focus fully on EPL damn. Even tougher for Pool to defend the title!

I find on local newspaper today, that Premier League also thinking about punishing Manchester City. There is a fake financial report to PL and UEFA, it is against PL rules also, and it is a possible penalty, subtraction of points which is not a big deal, they can't win the league and no European games for sure, but there is a possibility to be thrown into a lower rank like English League 2.

I think possibly on appeal they’ll get a smaller fine & a 1 year CL ban instead of 2. UEFA have to be strong, no way City get away with nothing, they’ve been making a mockery of FFP for years.

Be interesting to see what the English FA & PL do, their rules have been broken too.

I'm expecting: Relegation to the Championship and removal of every trophy they've won (starting from 2012) that's currently running under the The Football Association (Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield, EFL Cup) ...But meh, we all know The FA won't do anything, Mansour's probably bribing the entire FA board as we speak   

I'm just waiting for Man City to start selling players next summer because of debt and whatnot. I'll send Zidane a DM asking him to sign De Bruyne and Rodri, and maybe Bernardo Silva to replace Bale lol

Those are rather to extreme measures imo, If at all they were to be found guilty, and to be honest I'm not going to believe everything from the media, they always make a mountain out of a molehill.

VAR sucks most of the time however I had Leicester to win and it was really frustrating to see another draw in this round. I really feel terrible when a match ends with a draw.

In today's match Liverpool got a massive favor from Alisson in around 36th minutes or so. In last 10 matches Alisson had 9 clean-sheet which is quite impressive and this is why I went with a 3 - 0 for today's match. I am expecting Liverpool to go all attack in the 2nd half. Good for Norwich that they were able to restrict LFC without scoring any goal.

There are reports that the same fate had befell juventus in time past
And that not only were they banned, they had point deductions too.

Perhaps Mancity are able to buy their way out of a 2 year ban, but if point deduction applies ; then league 1 or the championship is inevitable.

I went with a 3 - 0 for today's match. I am expecting Liverpool to go all attack in the 2nd half. Good for Norwich that they were able to restrict LFC without scoring any goal.

For some nothing but crazy reasons, I had  Liverpool to lose 2 - 1, I already had Leceister to win and missed to make a pick for Southampton vs Burnley (I would have gone with the former, though).

It's still goalless at the 55th minute, could it be today ?

In Liverpool match you and me has one thing in common which is to have 3 goals 🤪

2 - 1 win against Liverpool means beating Alisson twice in a match. I doubt it's possible for any team considering the current from of Liverpool team. Almost 15 minutes gone from the 2nd half and yet no action though but I am still confident that the deadlock will break soon and we will see more than 1 goals from Liverpool.

I too had Leicester and it sucks how this team slowed down after some good run in the league. Southampton vs Burnley was a disappointment.

@Pamoldar: Alisson saved them for sure, and not for the first time in the last few games we've had. I don't know, hard to say Liverpool are lucky when Firmino had a tap-in he should have converted and Keita had a goal laid on a plate but he shot at keeper, if anything Liverpool are unlucky not to have been 3-0 to the good but yeah, Alisson has been a real difference (plus VVD)... incredible to snatch goals from feet of strikers damn!

@ampere: I'm with tokes here. What Juve did to deserve the demotion and docking of points was corruption and plain cheating (match fixing). City's crime is white collar... cooking the books. Hope Liverpool board never consider such things. But as long as we recruit like Klopp AND keep our youth doors swinging, we won't need to resort to that.

Greedy bastards!

UEFA already done serious damage to Manchester City so I feel FA is not going to take any serious damage as Mansoor is very powerful person and have good links in FA this punishment is also going to reduce for 1 year as 2 is very tough for them.

Norwich 0-1 LFC

Really ugly game, the storm (wind & rain) didn’t help to make it an attractive game. Norwich defended with 11 men behind the ball & rarely even tried to attack so it was a frustrating game, not much room to work with.

We did what we always do though & found a way to win, Sadio Mane wow, what a player.
