Can someone explain how an outfit like SBOBitcoin makes money?  Do they get a pct. of total volume bet by their clients at Pinnacle?  Or a pct. of the net losses?  Or something else.

Also, they are in the process of doing something that seems a bit odd.  Their site used to say you will always be given the same BTC/HKD exchange rate (6,000 HKD/BTC) throughout the life of your account.  Which effectively makes any client of theirs long BTC (you will make/lose money from BTC rising/falling in value).  Now they have said they are changing the ratio from 6,000 to 4,000 HKD per BTC for all customers, and so will reduce existing HKD balances by 1/3 to account for the fact that you will now get 50% more BTC per HKD when you withdraw.   All future deposits and payouts will be done at the 4,000 ratio.....until they change the rate again, that is.

So friggin' complicated.  What I am trying to figure out, though, is what their rationale is.  I.e., how does it benefit them exactly?  Clearly, it has no material impact on the player (or at least it shouldn't), so it must have some benefit for SBOBTC.  I've gotten nowhere with them in a ~10-email exchange with them.

My assumption is that they make a percentage of total volume. Years ago most were receiving a percentage of net losses. While Pinny had packages with net losses, they were one of the few to also take a percentage of volume. Many more books have now switched to volume.

SBOBitcoin was once the top rated book, but due to the confusion that many are having, they were downgraded.

Umm why is Jetwin a D rated book? Do they pay or can anyone confirm? Or is it cause they r new and need more history. Not questioning the rating system just interested so I can decide if I want to play there?

This is what I wrote on February 6th. They have since gained more of a forum presence so they will be looked at again after March Madness with all the other books. There have been some stiff books that close down right after March Madness.

Quote
Jetwin opens at “D-“

Jetwin.com is one of the few bitcoin books that requires your name, address, date of birth and phone number upon registration. The best way to describe Jetwin is by quoting some of their rules:

“The Customer hereby accepts that the Company maintains the right to demand additional information and/or documentation from the Customer in order to verify the Customer as the account holder in the event of such a security check.”

“The Company reserves the right to void any or all bets made by, and/or withhold payments payable to, any person, group of persons or legal entities acting in concert or as a syndicate to defraud the Company, pending the outcome of a subsequent investigation by the proper authorities”

“The Company reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion without explanation given to the Customer to refuse any bet or part of any bet without explanation and/or suspend or close an account at anytime for any reason, “

“ If a Customer account is inactive for twelve consecutive (12) months or longer, the Company reserves the right to close the Customer's account with the Company and the Customer agrees to forfeit any outstanding balance and all claims against the Company”

Jetwin does not have a big forum presence, live chat or phone number. The best that can be said at this time is that there have not been any complaints on payouts.
Short development status update:
We are about to finish implementing new types of bets on Ice hockey. Twice as much markets will be available for our clients for this kind of sport from the next midweek onwards.

Furthermore, taking into account a great number of requests, anonymous accounts will become available as well. These accounts won’t be eligible for any bonus, but for some clients anonymity is a top priority. So, customers will have to choose between anonymity and bonuses.

Thanks for the update. Being anonymous is important to many in the bitcoin community. We'll update your rating right after March Madness.

How do you guys like Anonibet?

I'm not a fan of their layout.  If you want to see the betting options for a game, you have to click on the sport, league, sub league, game, then game again.  It's a lot of clicking and doesn't lend itself to casual "I wonder what starts soon" betting.  You also can't compare several games at once.

Hi,

If you click "quick links" box on the right hand side, you will see the menu "starting in 2 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours and also the most popular sports and leaugues. That makes it easier to find what you are looking for.

Posting for a friend regarding coinbet. Their topic is closed so i do it here.

A friend deposited with bitcoin and got their deposit bonus. He played around with it, managed to get 3x hes initial deposit (including all the rollover requirements) and requested payout on Friday.
So far no payout has happened and since saturday he isnt able to log into hes account anymore.
A email has been sent to support, but no reply yet. Their btc adress shows activity a few hours ago, so they have been active.

I hope this will be resolved but so far hes waiting 48+ hours on payout and hes account disappeared without any response from coinbet.

Many times when books give away huge bonuses they understandably have to do security checks to prevent bonus abuse. Some people multi-account which isn't allowed and can lead to confiscation................ The account that you talked about is open and should be paid. Thanks for the heads up.

Problem is fixed, thanks.

The security checks are understandably. But still, if an account suddenly disappears with your own deposited money without explaination it rises some questions at that moment.

BitcoinSports.eu (Bit365) has disappeared recently along with player/investor funds.

It's hard to know who to trust with so many online casinos around.

Betcoin Sports stiffed me for 7.67 BTC.

I am in the process of filing a complaint against them with SportsBookReview.  I tried to get help from AKsplace/Alan Karre/BitcoinCasinoPro.com but he went missing.  He had told me that Betcoin had agreed to use him as a binding mediator, but then he just flat out disappeared and Betcoin denies ever accepting him as a mediator.  I have no idea what happened there.  I then took it to Peep's Place.  He agreed to look into it.  Betcoin agreed to send him my transaction logs.  They lied, just like they lied when they twice told me the same thing weeks earlier (yes, I have the emails).

If you win big at this place, you will get stiffed.  They have been stalling and lying for weeks now.

Everyday we are faced with one person or another trying to extract btc out of us.  We are positive that bitbook.biz experienced the same pressures that we experience and they have chosen to fold.  Now we have to defend ourselves from an attack by KGambler, the highest winner in our sportsbook to date.  KGAMBLER has won and been paid out over 173 btc to date positive! Of course there is no mention of this in any of his posts.  Throughout this time KGambler was granted in excess of 25 btc in bonuses.  When the error was discovered, we immediately subtracted the bonuses, but of course KGambler was upset, therefore we settled with KGambler paying him 18 btc of the 25 outstanding in bonuses because of the persistent threats.  He has now threatened to post negative comments on every forum, which I am sure will not include that he was paid 173 btc positive and 18 btc in mistaken bonuses.

The allegations above are false if you win big at this place, you will not get stiffed.  If you win big, you will get paid big!  Ask KGambler, how BIG he got paid.  If we make an error on the bonuses, we will still pay you some of those bonuses, which in retrospect, we should have never done.  Also, we have not been lying low, we have been working very hard, vocal on bitcointalk, building out a better backend, mobile website, app, and more.

We all try to please everyone in every way possible, we try to give you the best and most fair gaming experience possible.  KGambler won 173 bitcoins, was paid 173 bitcoins promptly and given excess bonuses which he was also paid even after we discovered the error.  This would have destroyed most bitcoin casinos, but even when we sent him a 100 btc withdrawal, we knew we were in this for the long run and we were prepared for these type of winners.  It is unfortunate KGambler has chosen this route, but we are going to continue to provide the best possible service to our nearly 10,000 members, 2,000 of which play everyday and send us the best compliments we could ever ask for.

We will ask the community to decide what we should do in this situation.  Reviewing what KGambler has wrote and our response, the winnings, bonuses, amount paid.  We ask the community to resolve this.  He knows we have treated him with the utmost respect.  We wish you all could be winners like KGambler, winning and being paid out 173 btc.  Maybe we should stop all of our bonus programs as this is the only time we ever have any issues?  Whatever the community decides within reason we shall abide by?

Stop with the nonsense.  You know this is not an extortion attempt.  You stole from me and jerked me around for 2 months.  I have had enough.

I didn't mention the current price of tea in China either.  What kind of Mickey Mouse book are you?  Why would my winnings to date effect whether or not I should be able to withdraw my full balance?

You think I wasn't going to tell the whole story, with all of the facts laid out?  I have all of our correspondence.  It has been sent to Sports Book Review.  Nothing will be held back.  I was going to wait until they said I could or should make it all public, but it seems it is time.  Should we post all of the correspondence here?

These bonuses were given in September and October, when BTC was at about $120.  The bulk of my BTC winnings occurred well before the price of BTC exploded.  In January, with BTC at $900, you suddenly started making ridiculous claims about how I had received bonuses in error.

Quote
Throughout this time KGambler was granted in excess of 25 btc in bonuses.

This is a lie.

My math shows I received 15 BTC in bonuses.  Not surprisingly, this is how I remember things as well.  On Jan 9th you said "we noticed that over 30 btc in bonus credits was erroneously paid out to your account".  On Jan 12th you said "in error your account received over 40 btc of bonuses".  Jan 15th you said "We have confirmed exactly 20 btc worth of bonuses".  Jan 25th you said "we admitted making numerous mistakes in granting bonuses to you totaling over 25 btc".  So which is it?

You twice told me you would send me the logs so I could verify for myself how much in bonuses you had given me.  You lied.  You told Peep's Place you would send him the logs.  You lied.

Where are the logs?  Why won't you send them?  Why did you tell us you would and then renege, three times?  Why do the numbers keep changing?  I looked at my deposits, my withdrawals, my total winnings and did the math... the bonuses were just 15 BTC, just like I had remembered them being.

I called your bullshit the very first email you sent me claiming I had received over 40 BTC worth of bonuses in error.  I told you right then that could not possibly be correct.

Quote
When the error was discovered, we immediately subtracted the bonuses, but of course KGambler was upset, therefore we settled with KGambler paying him 18 btc of the 25 outstanding in bonuses because of the persistent threats.

This is very misleading.  My last bonus was given in early October, when BTC traded for under $130.  In January, with BTC at about $900 you suddenly claimed that my bonuses had been given in error and were making the truly outrageous claim that I had received 40 BTC in bonuses.  I did not threaten you.  I tried very patiently to work things out with you by telling you that I had not received 40 BTC in bonuses and that I felt I was owed my entire balance.

Quote
He has now threatened to post negative comments on every forum, which I am sure will not include that he was paid 173 btc positive and 18 btc in mistaken bonuses.

I am pissed off.  You have jerked me around and lied to me for 8 weeks now.  I did not threaten to post negative comments about you.  That is silly.  I told you I would be telling the facts of my case.  There is nothing wrong with reporting to the community when a book gets shady.

Should we post our correspondence?

Whatever the community decides within reason we shall abide by?

The amount someone has won and you have paid is irrelevant.  That's what you are supposed to do.

It seems the issue right now is with 7.67BTC.  We'd need more info from both of you on what happened with that amount of money.  He said you guys stiffed him on it, which is inconclusive, you claim you mistakenly overpaid him a bonus and then took it out.  Is that the discrepancy that he's talking about?
