Peeps Place - [to DirectBet] " We thought that your book was strong at one time but DirectBet has gotten worse. If you want, I can go into detail. Normally, a poster would bring this up if he felt the ratings were skewed. You're the first book that I've seen do this.
[/quote]

I've found the DirectBet technology and cs fine (although cs is not 24/7, but this is true of most or all btc books)

My problems with them are the problems I have with all the btc books to a greater or lesser extent - poor odds; sometimes only offering moneyline but not spread for a game or sport; slow to offer odds on some sports/events - although overall a better range of sports than some of the other highly rated books; etc.
(Again, I have these issues with all btc books to varying degrees).

What are the problems with DirectBet you refer to?

Hold is very high. It's not an exaggeration to see a line of -420/+180. The live lines aren't what they were at the beginning. While they keep lines up at all times, I've never been able to get a bet confirmed until the commercial breaks. My bets are getting rejected. If the bets are only going to be accepted at stoppages in play, the odds are much better at other books.

They still have the 7.8 BTC limit which is nice. The Olympic betting was great and I made a lot of bets there. Yesterday I tried to get hoops action in and was never successful. I would send DirectBet BTCs and the bet would say "pending". Some time after that it would say, "rejected". Then I had to wait for a few confirmations before the money was sent back.

Please find my comments below :

Quote
It's interesting that you bring this up as your banner was once up there but we took it down even though you offer the highest affiliate percentage.

We never paid to advertise on your website. You put our ad there for a couple of days using your affiliate link, but then removed it as you preferred books that paid up front for it, such as Anonibet.

My point is that if you are rating books and some of them pay you to advertise, you should disclose that in your opening post.

Quote
Normally, a poster would bring this up if he felt the ratings were skewed. You're the first book that I've seen do this.

It took one slow pay from Betcoinsports and you instantly reduced their rating.

On the other hand, there have been several reports here during the past few days on Anonibet retroactively canceling bets, delaying withdrawals, limiting bet sizes and bet selections and various other negative feedback. Players are saying they will never bet there again, but their rating remains a firm A, on top of all other sportbooks.

You keep saying that the ratings here is "By the players for the players", but when it comes to Anonibet, you keep ignoring all the negative feedback on them, and there wasn't a single post here suggesting they are the best.

That's why I suggested that you disclose your relationship with Anonibet and whether this ratings is an advertising vehicle for them.

Quote
DirectBet - If I tailor the ratings towards books with banners, then why is NitrogenSports a "B+"?

The 3 Bitcoin sportbooks that advertise on your website happen to be the top 3 rated books in your ratings list.

Quote
Hold is very high.

Our odds are as good or better than Anonibet, your top rated Bitcoin sportsbook.

Why are you discrediting us for earning the same kind of profit your top rated sportsbook does ?

Quote
My bets are getting rejected.

The bet that you are referring to was not available in any of your top rated sportbooks, and so we should be getting credit for offering a bet that others do not.

This bet was placed in-play on the favorite. During in-play, the odds on the favorite may drift quickly. For this reason, we specifically recommend in the bet ordering page that you use the "Flexible Odds" option, as otherwise you risk a rejection.

Unfortunately, you selected the "Firm Odds" option, and by the time your bet transfer was received, the odds were reduced significantly, and as a result your bet was rejected and refunded. Had you used the "Flexible Odds" option, your bet would have confirmed. That's a standard practice, no other sportsbook will confirm your bet at odds that are much higher than they should be.

Quote
Then I had to wait for a few confirmations before the money was sent back.

In response to users feedback, we changed that yesterday. We are now refunding bets after just 1 confirmation.

Dear Peepsplace,

I stated on the first post I have posted here on your thread that as Anonibet we do not want to make any comment or post anything. Unless a question was directly asked to us, we do not interfere in your discussions. As we said before, we prefer the thread being used by player for players.

Please do NOT DEFEND OR MENTION ANONIBET in any of your post. If you wish you can delete us from your rating list. We do not want to be part of a discussion with any bookmaker. We have been present since 2011, and this is the best response we can give to anyone.

WOW!  I mean this thread is for discussions on all aspects of bitcoin books. you're bound to be mentioned by players and peeps.  If peeps has played there he has a point of view relevant to discussions here, as we all do who have played on your site.

I don't know what the hell is going on in your joint, but the past week you haven't done much right and your site is quickly falling behind the bitcoin curve.  you may have been the first, but like the iphone, the field has caught up and rapidly surpassed you.  you need to improve both your site and your stance on customer service VERY quickly.

You misunderstand my post. Peeps place is being accused by other bookies of defending Anonibet. Therefor I want to make it clear he does not need to defend Anonibet or praise Anonibet to our competitors. Players can post their experience with Anonibet, positive or negative.

DirectBet- You stated it took one slow pay to decrease Betcoin's rating. KGambler had problems getting paid by Betcoinsports. They accused him of bonus abuse. Betcoin promised me player logs for a few weeks and never produced the logs. Kgambler took it to the forums and the posters here got KGambler paid. That was the first problem and they weren't downgraded. They then slow paid a poster and were downgraded.

You are being untruthful in the amount of time that your banner was up but I'm not going to clutter up this thread defending false accusations. If you must, start a new thread and title it peepsplace ratings are pay for rating or whatever else you would like. A title will get you more visibility.

You are the only book that would stoop this low.  No other book would pull this type of tactic. Let the posters tear into books or how the ratings are done. It's appreciated that books post in this thread to answer questions since it's easier for all to look in one thread. The books have been asked to do this as I will PM the book on occasion if a poster asks a question. The intent wasn't for a book to rip into another book.

My account was hacked into at Casinobitcoin. Someone asked for a withdrawal. The money was taken out of my account but Casinobitcoin caught it. They sent me an email asking if I requested the withdrawal. I told them it was someone else and I didn't lose any funds. They put the bitcoins back in my account.

BitcoinRulez maybe be respected by u and others by being truthful and such, but BitcoinRulez is by far the dumbest poster and better i have ever come across. Please Peeps Place don't condone people to max deposit and max bet at shops that are open 2 months this way they don't think its ok to do something as stupid as this poster, this way at least if the place turns out to be a scam they people won't lose out more then they should have.

You were the one that said that the grades shouldn't be given out so easily and that's when the rules were changed. I thought you made a lot of sense. You are also right that I shouldn't condone max bets at "C" and lower. The "C+" books seem good but they don't have the longevity yet. It takes one year to get a "B" rating:

Maximum grade based upon time in business:

A - 2 years
B - 1 year
C - 3 months
D - 1 month
F - reserved for books that are slow paying or stiffing players

GOD, you are just painfully ignorant to continue blaming me for a shady book.  NO ONE got paid, no matter how much or little they made.  the whole thing was a scam.  had i not won any money, people still wouldn't have gotten paid.  really, your stupidity is unmatched in the betting community and you should refrain from ever posting again.

Peeps - I'd made a suggestion earlier in this thread that you list with a book's rating whether withdrawals are automatic or not, since it indicates a book is operating on lower capital if they haven't purchased or had written autograding software.

You posted that you agreed, liked the idea, and would do so.

Yet you haven't done so yet.

At the beginning, when this ratings thread started, there was a list of criteria that was used to determine the rating of each sportsbook. We were given a rating of B and Anonibet were the top rated sportsbook with a rating of A.

I went over the list of criteria, one by one, and proved that in each and every category we are as good or better than Anonibet. And so I asked Peeps why we are rated lower ?

Various ill-informed reasons were given, such as that we offer a smaller variety of bets, which I corrected.

If you'd like to read the full conversation, it starts here :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448302.msg6137493#msg6137493

A few hours later, Peeps changed the ratings criteria so that Anonibet can be the only book with a rating of A. Not surprisingly, they retained their rating of A and our rating was downgraded to C. Furthermore, the list of criteria used to determine ratings disappeared. Instead, Peeps listed all top Bitcoin sportbooks by sorting them in the order in which they were opened.

My question to you Peeps is, what is the reasoning by which you rated Anonibet higher than all other Bitcoin sportbooks ?

And I'd like to put this up here for a debate with other users. Lets have a discussion. Do you agree with Peeps, that Anonibet should be rated higher than all other Bitcoin sportbooks ?

Do you know anything specific re: how the hacking was accomplished?

Any tips specific to this incident or book to prevent others from getting hacked there?

Feedback -

I've made a number of bets at NitrogenSports and some at DirectBet.
As far as the technology, support, depositing and withdrawing, I'm happy with both.

I've made one bet at CasinoBitco, same as above.
Why only one bet at CasinoBitco? Because the sports they offer are very limited compared to the other 2 books.

My problems with these books are the problems I have with all the btc books to a greater or lesser extent - poor odds; sometimes only offering moneyline but not spread for a game or sport; slow to offer odds on some sports/events - although overall Nitrogen and Direct have a better range of sports than some of the other highly rated books; low limits (not including DirectBet);etc.
(Again, I have these issues with all btc books to varying degrees).

Nitrogen's limits I find to be low, and as they mention in their thread, low limits are an even bigger problem currently with the drop in the value of a bitcoin.
And Nitrogen does not allow a rebet once limit is reached, even if it's 8 hours later, even if the line has changed.
This makes no sense.
(This may be the case at the other 2 books as well - although Direct has much higher limits, and don't know about CasinoBitco).

I found AnoniBet's limits to be low on a non-major non-USA sport and didn't bother betting it.
However, since then AnoniBet Michael posted that limits have been increased, so will take another look.
AnoniBet seemed to have a good range of sports available.
AnoniBet has manual withdrawals, Nitrogen/Direct/and I think CasinoBitco are automatic.
