Update on the potential security issues mentioned earlier.

As a cautionary measure and since MINT does not really need PoW, we have decided to get rid of the PoW. We don't want to take any security risk.
And since our ego is less important than your hard earned money, we won't have any problem to be thankful to another coin dev if it appears he has helped to increase MintCoin's security.

If it appears? What a joke.

Dishonest dev, dishonest community.

What are you talking about? Still trying to cause trouble? Go away mr_random, stop trolling. The dev just thanked rat4 for what he did.

From what I can see, all they managed to do is slow the network down for a while. And at great expense, by renting a large amount of hashpower and using timestamp tricks.  Seems to me all that is able to prove is that with enough hashpower one is able to make the network lag for a while.

How can you see that? So the team are releasing new wallets for nothing? So there is no fork here?

MINT is proven antifragile

can blackcoin say the same? time will tell
Sure it proved ^^ few times...
-timebomb attack solved
-After some bcmutipool Developer left there was many FUDs after that BC rebuilded it position and got new pool dev team...
-After minig part no many gave BC chance to go up...
-CR exchange problems and FUDs on BC dev + death wishes...
there was many drama points of BC history bro...price ofcourse drooped but not for long Tongue

Told OP it was a bad idea, was ignored by OP in the Blackcoin thread. If you don't understand the code you're modifying, don't muck with it.

These attacks are not applicable to BlackCoin. Guess why.

My guess is that you modified the trust weighting for PoS blocks so that PoW block or that you manipulated timestamping variability, neither of which are great solutions in the distributed system you're playing with.

It looks like you tried to fix the stake modifier with a hardfork and then broke it in the process, too:
https://github.com/rat4/blackcoin/commit/47d2eec662b738b39cdb45f3ef6f72a13b929268#diff-25d902c24283ab8cfbac54dfa101ad31
https://github.com/rat4/blackcoin/commit/9dea231970c5c73dd6b7e3d0d20210233574a179#diff-25d902c24283ab8cfbac54dfa101ad31

Others vulnerabilities exist and you still refuse to address them (the "nothing at stake" fork, stake modifier manipulation).

Zero difficulty PoW is open door and cannot be trusted. One of possible fixes is to disable PoW.
So it looks like Mint joined true POS system ^^ and applied rat4 easy fix.

You guys can be as nit-picky and negative as you want but what matters is that the problem is fixed and our dev thanked rat4. It's time to move on.

This has been a pr disaster for MINT from start to finish. I just hope as a small holder of mint that things go smoothly with the fork!

I was a very early fan of MINT (you will see from my posts not long after launch) and I held 100million MINTcoins at one point. I think the MINT community are great (on the whole) and I only migrated to BlackCoin because I preferred the lower inflation and wasn't totally happy with the premine. But is just my preferences, some people like the higher inflation etc. There is room for all flavours in crypto.

Let's hope bitcoin turns around and we all make lots of money as early adopters of all these coins!

Good luck Cheesy
