Hurrah, yes it does. Not directly maybe, but it means the imminent release of products can be rated.

Its hard to tell because of the quantities involved, and the fact that most first 'batch''es aren't actually production runs but test batches. As Avalon found out in gen 1, even building 100 and 600 are very different things.

Hi Dogie.

i want you to know that with bitmine.ch there is a ongoing SCAM. Refunds are not paid back. there are lots of angry customers in the bitmine thread.
Hence there is even a website collecting all the not paid refunds for transparency.

http://www.bitminerefund.com/

It is even worser: bitmine ships miner to people who have requested an refund.
their are breaking their own rules every now and than. the delays are SCAM.

Also there is no improved communication. people waiting for the miners have'nt recieved an email yet stating there is a problem.

They have changed their TOS in the past to limit the Customer Protection Plan to 50% when they realized that they are not able to deliver within the promised delivery date. SCAM

In one of the latest news they say that they have a fixed amount of international wire transfer orders that their bank allows to process daily. but people are also getting refunds with BTC, dependence on their initial form of payment. Why are those refunds not paid back. Their is no limit.

Because bitmine.ch are scamming people the first victims are seen. there is a guy who lost his flat because he bitmine breaks their own TOS and rules. details here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291141.msg6605934#msg6605934

They didnt fullfil the promised specs with their miner. till today there is no working turbomode and powersave mode at all. bitmine even tells their costumers not to use the turbo mode because it will void warranty. (but they announced the devices with these specs.)

there are lots and lots of more examples how they do business.

No, which is why I'm waiting until batch 2 when I will.

I want to second dplusf's concerns. Bitmine might rather be C- or even D considering their behaviour. C+ might create false trust in that company. The reason for delaying the refunds might very well be bankruptcy or a situation close to it.
As they refuse to communicate in a reliable and transparent way, one might expect the worst.

Plus they haven't updated the product descriptions on their home page. They know that their hardware is not nearly capable of what is advertized. The only properly working mode so far is nominal mode with 1 W/GH/s.

I'm well aware of the pressure that is being brought on Bitmine by warning potential customers and making them think twice before ordering there. And this is no badmouthing - it is merely stating the facts.
I feel the necessity to put some pressure on Bitmine to force them to a different behaviour or finally declare bankruptcy, because the current situation simply is unbearable.

I'd prefer them to work for and earn a B or A rating, though. I doubt it will happen. C+ is misleading.

And I will back up both of them. NO ONE SHOULD SEND MONEY OR BTC TO BITMINE.  They have lied about delivery of hardware. The spec of the hardware they have delivered isn't as promised. The "safe" customer protection plan for refunding delayed orders is not working as they are not refunding anyone at the moment.

The problem is that they are not responding at all to emails, PMS or in their official thread. People who phone are told what they want to hear and then nothing happens.

Thanks for you efforts to do this list!

I'd like to push for an updated rating of KNC, they did a bate and switch of sorts. Also denying refunds, "forcing" people to accept BTC (lol ironic on a crypto site, yet refunds was agreed to be usd). The one that opted for jupiters instead have recieved used garbage and then asa follow up been treated slow and badly. They broke the agreed 5% mining limit. Well there is more but take a peek at the forum and update the rating to whatever you feel is appropriate.

Thanks!

@dogie re VMC rating/customer refunds --  Just a heads-up:

Ken doesn't even bother refunding hardware reviewers:

Quote
...
Status: Refund requested on 10th January

In the meantime I am still waiting for the third refund cheque from VMC to arrive, and hopefully this time it will be signed and properly filled in.

The fact that the previous two cheques weren’t, may be no coincidence after all.
...

(not sure how this factors into the rating, I'll delete this post if you wish.)

This thread should really be a sticky. This forum REALLY needs this kind of information at the top. dogie is a trusted member of the community as well. Having him and a few other trusted members validate vendors would be a nice thing. If I had seen this before I made my purchase it would have helped immensely in making the right choice a few months ago. (learned since then to follow this list)

I question the D+ rating of AMT.

They've delivered only a fraction of the miners to users.  Out of the fraction of miners delivered,  a majority of them don't work.

They have not provided a single customer with a user.

They also provide zero communication to users not only about the status of their purchase but provide nothing for post-delivery support.

I think a rating of Z would be more appropriate.

D+ is pretty horrific, seeing as E as as low as normal firms can go. I'll take a look next cycle (this weekend most likely).
