I have to say that I too agree with the sentiment of going with Havelock if we go ahead and publicly list.   There is much more volume there vs CT, and they also have an air of legitimacy, whereas CT still seems a bit shady to me.  Then again, going with any centralized model is playing with fire at this point.  Fact is, there are plenty of Colored Coin alts that are already out in the wild, and I honestly do not understand why we aren't considering any of them.

Was I helpful or insightful?  Feel free to say thanks! 1PuoasR1dYtNq9yYNJj9NreDAfLEzc3Vpe

All,

I've order a prospector - I'm yet to initiate the bank transfer but will do possibly today or tomorrow.

I will make sure to tell you all about how the process goes, how quickly the prospector arrives in the UK, setup, etc - I'm also going to do a video on the setup, and a review generally, so stay tuned.

But the first step, ordering the card, worked fine. I've seen complaints that the shopping card doesn't work but it definitely seemed to work absolutely fine for me.

Stay tuned.

Have a look at the volume on Havelock. With about 400 bitcoin per day it would allow us a lot of opportunity to move shares/divest/etc...

Also have a look at the yield on ASICMINER, it's not very good at all. of course this will go up once Gen 3 goes online but my point is this: People are desperate to get a decent return.

If that is the case then lets have a little thought experiment. If Ken gets 1% of the network, and we take 50% for reinvestment and ignore all hardware sales, a share at 0.0025 will be at 30% yield per year.

Think about that. A mining company on a high volume exchange that should at least be able to offer between 5% and 50% yield on a share price of 0.0025.

I can't see that same money flowing to the unknown exchange CryptoTrade and if Ken gets the 5,000 boards online, we want to be able to trade at that point. Fully working CC will be months AFTER we get those boards online and we'll miss that opportunity.

Bit off topic, but it could be great for us.

Arn't AM's gen 3 chips performing lower than what was expected?

the 1 test (from Rockxie, not AM) that has come back using the chips performed lower than expected.  as far as I know there have not been any further test results released by any other reseller or by AM itself.

It's still a great performing chip.  It's like 6 watts for 11gh.  But that's not optimized.  Once they tweak software and such, it'll do even better.

At the chip level. At the wall it's just about 0.85w/gh/s to 1w/gh/s. Not to detract from Friedcat's accomplishment as that is quite impressive for a 40nm chip, but it's not as mind blowing as the 0.2w/gh/s to 0.35w/gh/s projection that shareholders were led to believe.

Again, that's not optimized.  And that from-the-wall test is based on one chip with other stuff powering the board.  So the jury is till out.  Price is also a factor.  I suspect we're going to see a massive hardware price war soon.  There are too many players selling chips at the same time.

What do you think they will optimize that rockxie hasn't done? I think their estimates were just way off (and many didn't believe them when they were announced to be so low). There might be some adjusting to be done but these chips are ~160% less efficient than advertised - I don't think any "tweaking" is going to move that too far.

Same thing that happened when KNC launched, the software takes time to tweak to get everything right.  It's not just about the hardware.  Read the AM thread on this for people's thoughts, it's not really the place here for it.

The AM thread is just complaining about how low the stock is going... due to poor power performance...

I'm sure it'll all work out, though.

Feck this.  He's had plenty of opportunity.  PM me if you're in the States and I'll get the ball rolling.  I will be updating this thread throughout the process starting with my letter to lawyers detailing the deception.   There you go Ken, another irate shareholder ready to seek legal advice when all I want to do is support ActiveMining.  Nice work bud.

As I said earlier (my post was deleted by someone) - you Simon are now threatening to sue our CEO the day AFTER putting up a consultative Poll to ask where people want the shares are to go!! I really don't understand how you can put up a Poll for Ken on Monday to help him decide where the shares should go and on Tuesday threaten to sue him and launch a campaign to get shareholders to sue him for not putting the shares up. That is very illogical.

So that everyone knows I will say again (as my post was deleted by someone) Ken is TWO days late with putting the shares on CryptoTrade. He said he would be working on it during this past week - that ended on Sunday and this is now Tuesday. So again - he is TWO days late. Does that warrant threatening to sue him and slagging him off? I think not.

The previous delays were due as we all know to the MSD inquiries. So now Ken is out East working on getting a data centre up and running. That is not an easy task, things crop up. There were delays with electric and AC. I suggest you give him more than 2 days before you become hysterical and start threatening to sue your own CEO.

Are the results of the Poll out yet Simon? Did you even allow it to run it's course before threatening to sue Ken for not putting the shares up despite this Poll supposedly helping him make that decision? Oh no, the Poll hasn't closed yet, so what is this supposed to mean? Are you giving him time to put the shares up or suing him?

This is a 24 hour poll whereby the results will remain hidden until completion.

Hopefully these results will provide CEO, Ken Slaughter a valuable gauge on the opinions of his shareholders and allow him an opportunity to make an informed decision prior to this weeks shareholder update.

1. Ken is not 2 days late, he is making empty promises regarding the shares every few weeks since months.

2. He is online here in the forum every day, is reading posts, answering questions, answering pm's. But he has no 2 minutes time to talk clear about the shares?

This smells more and more like a big scam to me. Maybe not a scam on customers, but on share holders.

Stuart, while I do agree that Simon is being a little over-dramatic about all of this, and I can see he's rubbing people the wrong way, I want to play devil's advocate for a sec:

This isn't just about the most recent updates relating to our shares, this is about the culmination of update after update stating that we will have shares within a week, or two. Or soon.  You can't deny that we've heard this over and over. It gets old after a while, and eventually it will push people like Simon to go beyond idle threats.

We all knew from the beginning that our shares did not grant us voting power for decisions made within the company.  We don't have the power to argue any business decision Ken makes. The only thing about ActM that we SHOULD have control over are our own shares. The ability to sell if you don't agree with the direction Ken is taking, or to buy more when you feel confident in the company.  Simple as that.

That's why if anything, these shares need to be given back to shareholders as soon as possible.

You can't deny that we've heard this over and over.

100% true. But there were reasons for that.

Remember the shares came out of circulation because of direct contact between the SEC and Bitfunder - so you can't just wack the shares back up without thinking about possible consequences. The company has had to face inquiries or investigations from the SEC and MSD and Ken has responded by hiring a good lawyer and treading carefully.

My opinion is he's genuinely tried to get the shares up a few times but has been frustrated by either contact from the authorities which has caused him to delay or issues with the company that needed attention. The shares are worth nothing without a solid company - that is what Ken is giving us.

Whatever you believe I'm glad Ken hasn't managed to get the shares up yet despite his best efforts. The longer we have had to wait the more progress has been made in the company. Progress in the company gives your shares value. If we had the shares 2months ago many would have sold out by now and made big losses. The delays have worked in all shareholders favour as the company has come round hugely in the past months. Ken knew the company was going to come round.

Again, our CEO is TWO days late with beginning to put the shares on CT.

We are now touching 38TH/s on Eligius. If that is held that's around a 15% increase on yesterday.

Go hashrate go!

Also it would be nice to at least have the share ownership verified, even if they're not moved to an exchange straight away

I like your style.

Ken - Havelock will do the hard work for you, they have trading fees to earn. Let them!

Even if it's a stop gap for a couple of months it will alleviate the angst share liquidity is stirring in investors. We don't want to create more problems here.

Shareholders have indeed backed Havelock all the way.  This result should not be a surprise to anyone.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=570888.new#new

I want to retract everything I said yesterday in regards to taking action against the company.  Yes, I was overly dramatic but felt it was all I had left to try and somehow get Ken to see sense.  I have been as patient as I know how and it suddenly all became too much, so I snapped.  I totally support ActiveMining and appreciate how hard Ken is working to make it successful.  He's done a fantastic job of late and it just depresses me to see that the shareholders are yet to take ownership of their investments.   I've been scammed by just about every startup in this space and ActiveMining needs to work out for me, otherwise I'm back to square one.

Please Ken, give us access to our shares as soon as you can and let the good work you are doing be reflected in the price. Smiley

Edit - I lied when I said that eight people had contacted me via pm.  No-one did.  I sincerely apologise.
