Prospector1 - 22.5 Minutes - 1,006.66 Gh/s on Eligius

Looks like they are getting a little over 500GH/each which is good Smiley

People keep mentioning that ActM is going to put out 3-4ph/s this month but I just cannot see that happening. The closest thing that Ken has said regarding this is:

Yes, this [EVO] is the board that we are building 5,000 in April.

As much as I want to believe that ActM will add 6-8% of the network hashrate in a single month, the above quote only references building the boards, not necessarily the completed board+chip miner. Until Ken confirms that he plans on building 5000 completed miners in April-May, I think conservatism is more appropriate.

As an added piece of speculation, the reason for adding a mere 100th/s per month to the self-mine farm is the limiting factor of chips. I do not believe ActM has thousands of chips ready to go and instead is likely buying them a couple hundred at a time which are then split into sales and the self-mine farm the revenue from which is used to buy more chips the following month. Having the boards ready made IS a good thing since the only thing that will need to be done to complete the miner is to throw the chip onto the board, but until I am corrected by Ken, I do not believe that it is a safe assumption that we will have 5000 boards AND 5000 chips this month.

First Peoples ASIC, now a potential additional datacenter, why are you not on salary?

I wish the salary would be some dividends! I have a lot of connections and I try to help out whoever I can if I see a good fit.

Your help is very much appreciated! Dividends would indeed be fantastic!

After Ken stated that he would be manufacturing 5000 boards in April the below exchange took place:

Will you have enough chips for the 5,000 boards?
Yes

This is why people believe Ken will have 5000 Gold Rush Miners in hand within April.

3.5ph/s * 1w/gh = 3.5MW which seems like it would be more power than our little datacenter can handle

Remember Bargraphics knows a guy that can host the entire amount. If we need to it's doable.

DTS... weren't you jumping ship the moment our shares were available again?

I see the future being dividends paid to our addresses long before trading happens.

I remember that exchange but it instantly raised my vagueness/incomplete answer flag. Ken said yes we will have enough chips for 5,000 boards, but he does not mention WHEN. I've mentioned before that from past experience I've found it's best to approach vague statements from Ken with caution (remember that whole "we shipped out first product from back in November" or more recently the whole "is it our chip and proprietary vs. licensing" thing?). Again, I would absolutely love to be wrong as that's just more money in my pocket and I absolutely look forward to being corrected.

Just when you thought it was over, ActiveMining seem to be sitting pretty.  Wow, what a turn around.  If drawingthesun isn't selling for 0.00000000001 anymore then things are indeed on the up!  Thanks very much Bargraphics for sharing your Fast-Hash One Prospector Guide.  Props to you.  I'd add that using cotton buds dipped in, or sprayed with isopropyl alcohol is the best way to remove unwanted thermal compound as it leaves components squeaky clean.  This is essential for maximum heat transfer after you reapply.  And less is more; to cover an area of one square inch, think a grain of rice in terms of thermal paste application and reduce if less than 1 in sq.

It's all good bud.  Only braving a comment because of the good vibe.  It's hard not to get excited when I'm looking at the hash rate rise in the data center and seeing miners out in the open.  I'm not grinning from ear to ear yet but am starting to see that perhaps my cash wasn't wasted when I jumped in with both feet.  This could be something new in the Bitcoin space but it's still early doors so tread lightly is my best advice.

The boards do not reach 750GH with ease. CGMiner was bugging out badly. After getting them running stable and OC to 720 Clock Speed that particular one runs at about 520GH on CGMiner which mostly corresponds with what Eligius is saying.

I don't suppose that 650W PSU is really the right one for running much over 500, the w/gh probably gets nearer 1:1 ... hard to say also how much is thermal throttling.

We have two options for reinvestment:

1 - Mine with hardware using 100% of funds until it ROI (This should also be tax free up until ROI because we are recovering a deduction in funds) and then after split earnings in two, first half for reinvestment and the other half for dividends (At this point tax applies)

2 - Split in two right away.

I prefer option 1 because it means that the company will always keep it's bank up before money flows outside to us.

If we start getting money back straight away we could end up where Ken is thousands of Bitcoin short when we need the money for our own chip.

Please discuss.
