JerryThomas,

Vs. Quark

Positives: Less than 1/10 the projected total moneysupply, very small block rewards... no flash mine over 6 months.

Negatives: 1/10000 the following.

IMO

I love me some quark too but I have a shi+heap of those already. This one is just a fun to mine, buy cheap, wait and see.

Yeah you better get them while they're cheap! I think once BTQ gets more exposure, you will see the price increase dramatically!!!

Diff grows?  Huh

The first week BTQ launched, the diff stayed between 1.2k - 2k so it's actually pretty low considering

A wallet defrag function in the debug console would be most excellent!

As convenient as a wallet might be on your smart phone, I think it's a mistake. I am very leery of Android from the point of security, mainly because of who develops it and what other apps do to compromise it. IMHO it would be a horror story just waiting to happen.

I agree with you 100%!!! I don't use any Wallets on my phone. The security just isn't there and it's nothing for a cell phone to be hacked via bluetooth, web, etc and not to mention if you lose your phone!

As for the p2pool non-fee transactions, the pool operator has the option to setup a whether not to add a transaction fee...I know this is true for MPOS and I'm about 75% sure this is the same for P2Pool. So if the P2Pool operator allows the shares to have a transaction fee, this would eliminate the small transaction issues. I will look into this issue more and see what kind of solution I can come up with though!

Big problem is the rabbit miner,
They just jump in when lower diff, and increase Diff
And than jump out, and the consistent miner is mining at unreasonable high diff and reduce diff after the retarget time. And than, the rabbit miner jump in again.
This kind of situataion is keep repeating.
Even couple of months ago, the hash rate (moving in/out) is just 50Mhs, now, it has much higher than 100M
I think, a multi pools has devleopt ror quark algo.
Practically,  It makes lower efficiency for the consistent miner.
I wish this coin has better block retarget to resist that kind of sneaky miners.
It is very important early growing stage of coin,
I hope the devs are resolve this issue

updates,

the cheating miner is jumpping between all quark coins, specially, FairQuark and BitQuark, C-note
only QuarkBar is free from the cheating miner now. becasue it has each block KGW retargeting,
for the 30s coins (less than 60s), the diff calculation is a kind of big challenges, and
this coin has pretty shorter retarget time, but, still in the issues.

If possible, I wish to make a good communcation between all quark hashing coin developer,
and prohibit this kind of unreasonable miners.

personally, I think, it is the best way for the future of coins.

Have a nice day

The retargeting time is about every 10 mins (20 blocks * 30 secs), so the difficulty retargets fairly quick after these guys jump in and out of the pools. Even when the difficulty was at 1k - 2k, mining BTQ was still going pretty smooth. It's not unusual for 'quark' algo coins to have high difficulties as they recover quickly. BTQ has been at a steady block rate of 110 - 120 blocks mined every hour since we launched. I will look into different types of retargeting schemes and see which would be more appropriate for BTQ.

On another note, what do you guys know about Moolah.io / Prelude.io Huh I've been talking to them about adding BTQ to their site. It seems that Moolah.io is a type of payment gateway for merchants to accept BTQ as payments and Prelude.io, which is a sub-company of Moolah, is a site that you can trade BTQ for other coins and you can also trade BTQ/USD or USD/BTQ. So what do you guys think about adding BTQ to this site??? We would definitely need to increase volume and get site to accept BTQ as payment for service/goods!!!

Small transactions are just the way that p2pool works. Ive got no problem with that. What i mean by coin control is this kind of feature in the wallet that allows you to choose which amounts you have to spend while sending.

This thread has information about such a feature.
