We need coin control features for sending. Especially for us p2pool miners..
As for the p2pool non-fee transactions, the pool operator has the option to setup a whether not to add a transaction fee...I know this is true for MPOS and I'm about 75% sure this is the same for P2Pool. So if the P2Pool operator allows the shares to have a transaction fee, this would eliminate the small transaction issues. I will look into this issue more and see what kind of solution I can come up with though! Small transactions are just the way that p2pool works. Ive got no problem with that. What i mean by coin control is this kind of feature in the wallet that allows you to choose which amounts you have to spend while sending. The retargeting time is about every 10 mins (20 blocks * 30 secs), so the difficulty retargets fairly quick after these guys jump in and out of the pools. Even when the difficulty was at 1k - 2k, mining BTQ was still going pretty smooth. It's not unusual for 'quark' algo coins to have high difficulties as they recover quickly. BTQ has been at a steady block rate of 110 - 120 blocks mined every hour since we launched. I will look into different types of retargeting schemes and see which would be more appropriate for BTQ. On another note, what do you guys know about Moolah.io / Prelude.io  I've been talking to them about adding BTQ to their site. It seems that Moolah.io is a type of payment gateway for merchants to accept BTQ as payments and Prelude.io, which is a sub-company of Moolah, is a site that you can trade BTQ for other coins and you can also trade BTQ/USD or USD/BTQ. So what do you guys think about adding BTQ to this site??? We would definitely need to increase volume and get site to accept BTQ as payment for service/goods!!! This would be AWESOME. |

Ultimately you are correct. If crypto is ever to gain widespread public acceptance in the marketplace, we will need an Android wallet. I just don't think that is a top priority at the moment. As far as coin control goes, after skimming through that thread it looks like (after much infighting, name calling and throwing rotten tomatoes at each other) bitcoin devs rolled it into 0.9. I will download and play with it tonight after work. |

Ok so I want to do something different with BTQ's economics. Crypto currencies are suppose to be an alternative to fiat, correct??? So why are people still linking crypto's to fiat??? I want BTQ to sever this link. I say screw the exchanges, they will eventually catchup with BTQ. I say we, the BTQ community, set a price for BTQ based on supply, demand, and utility. For a currency to succeed, we need to have faith in that currency! So we need to start the revolution of decentralizing crypto's from fiat!!! What I mean by this is if you have an item you want to trade for BTQ, like for example you have a camera and you think it is worth 250 BTQ then sell it for that amount. The market will eventually catchup and make its correction to the true value of a currency.
SO what do you guys think about this?

true, but there are still people who are going to want to use the fiat route, as for btq I supposed not linking it to fiat would be best, such as linking it to only cryptocurrencies on the exchanges, then again some people will still convert back to fiat, due to the volatility, but once cryptos volatility starts to die down its use will begin to be widely accepted

A friend of mine pretty heavy into cryptos with numerous mining rigs thought he had a really bright idea to create just such a crypto. Then I pointed him to this very video. Needless to say he fell silent.  |

Over the last several days I've been tinkering with cluster mining (2 or more computers mining on a local network all pointed to the IP of the PC with the wallet being mined into). PC1 has the wallet and runs sph-sgminer 4.1.0. Other PCs on the network run minerd pointed at PC1. There seems to be a limit of 4 total connections to the wallet server daemon, loopback of sgminer on PC1 plus 3 other computers running minerd pointed at PC1, or lookpack of sgminer on PC1 plus loopback of minerd on PC1 plus 2 other computers running minerd pointed at PC1. Any time I exceed that limit the additional computers return json_rpc_call failed. Even 4 total is pushing it as it sometimes causes sgminer to sit and wait for work from pool 0. Three wallet server clients seems to be the max stable limit. Am I alone with this problem? Z |

A bug in OpenSSL, used by Bitcoin-Qt/Bitcoin Core, could allow your bitcoins to be stolen. Immediately updating Bitcoin Core to 0.9.1 is required in some cases, especially if you're using 0.9.0.
Does this apply to the Bitquark wallet in any way? |

Just uploaded the new binary and it uses OpenSSL 1.0.1g (fixes recently discovered vulnerability). So if you have download the new update before this post, redownload it.
I updated the OpenSSL just to be safe.
