Pick a pool you want that is already up and mining right now (ours is), and so that as soon as we switch over to the new source -- your miners will go down and then automatically reconnect as soon as we are back up. All while you are sleeping Wink

Very bad hour launch.  Angry

Just set up your pool and miner.
Start the miner.
It will sit there doing nothing until
launch and then it will mine while you are
sleeping. No problem. Both
Oakpool and Suprnova said this would work.

EUROPEANS:

1. Buy an alarm clock and get up to run your bat file.  If you have it preconfigured then it is ready to go.  Or put a time delay command line in it and do the math to see how many seconds you need to fire up the bat file.

2.  Mine with a pool that switches over automatically.

3. BUT MOST IMPORTANT:  Quit your damn whining.

Help from the community please:

I see that a lot of people are having trouble with scrypt -n. I assume that the following code will not work for mining via the cloud (Digital Ocean to be specific) because scrypt -n will require something different -- is that correct?

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install yasm -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix
sudo apt-get install build-essential libcurl4-openssl-dev

wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpuminer/files/pooler-cpuminer-2.3.2.tar.gz
tar xzf pooler-cpuminer-2.3.2.tar.gz
cd cpuminer-2.3.2/
./configure CFLAGS="-O3"
make

I am not really a miner -- I have done it exactly once (with MINT) and I just copied the above code and used the pool for the last line to "point" PUTTY in the right direction. Anyway, I still have a credit at D.O. and this is the first coin that I have seen that seems worthwhile.

So, basically what I am asking is, does anyone know if the above code will work for GPUCoin? And if not, could you point me to a link that might have the correct code for cloud mining a scrypt -n coin in a pool?

I know that this is a real newbie question to most of you miners (and others), but I thought that it wouldn't hurt to just ask. Thanks.

Offering coins to help those who didn't get in on the IPO or who will lose their mining earnings from the failed launch:

2,000,000 GPU Coins for sale from IPO: Get coins shortly after launch, and be ahead of the curve of miners!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=498453

These are for sale for as low as 0.45BTC, this is not an auction!

It would be nice if a dev or two took a few minutes just to give us all some kind of update. maybe ease concerns that this relaunch may be too soon

Hello,
I think this could be a great idea but we are missing something in this IPO. I also invest in the IPO but seems that I will not take any profit from that. With the quantity of coins that will be available from the mining the coin will have a low value.
Who wins with this it's only the coin developers. We need a win-win situation. How we can reach this. The ideia to start a business selling cheap graphics cards is good but the investors needs some returns. My idea is the take the IPO not for the coins but for the company. We have to look to this like shares on the company. Because we are investing for the CEO purchase a large quantity of graphics cards and the selling and the profits only goes to the CEO. You can take 50% or 60% of the company and the IPO is for the 50% or 40%. You need to decide this quantities. But needs to be fair for both parties.
We are investing to start the business with our money so we need some kind of return.
We also can go on with the GPUcoin but this is a different situation because will take long time until the coin reach a stable value.

Think about this, because we have to look at this as a distributed company. Of course the shares owners will contribute to the company because will be the interest of each one of us.

I think this is better than contribute to take only some premined coins. The money will go to the CEO and only the CEO will have the profits of selling graphics cards... The IPO investor will only take worthless coins...

I hope you understood my point of view about it

Totally agree, maybe a share of the company would be a nice gesture. I did send an email to the CEO to suggest this but never got a reply. Maybe he wants it all to himself.. Again like all the rest of the coin creators.

Who knows he could surprise us. not..

As I said earlier, Virginia LLC's can't have shareholders or investors. They can have company members who share in the financial benefits, but you have to show up in person and be signed on. He wont do that.

I'm only suggesting an alternative. Maybe 40%/50% its a high share for the company. But in the end they are raising funds to start a business. And with actual IPO only for the coins, they are taking advantage of our money. I think is more fair to take a % of the company by the IPO  investors and the we can work together to make the business growth in order to give the maximum profits to all of the investors and also the CEO, company owner.
70 btc it's a good quantity to start an online business.

Maybe some of us from the UK should start our own coin. If anyone is interested then let me know, if we can get a few people together then i think we can come up with something great. already made contact with a developer today who has created a few of these coins in the past.

I already have some ideas on how the coin should function.

We are talking about new concepts of companies. If they have the willingness to do this everything is possible. We are working with btc, not real money, everything is possible. I don´t know what are the financial laws in Virginia, but how they will declare the btc money that we give to finance the graphics cards and to start the business?
