~
I wanted to see how many posts I could get removed, planning to open a topic in Meta asking how much spam a user can post before he gets banned. But then I used this as a comment with my report:
~

I was thinking to ask the same because sometimes I report more then 10-20 post of a user and he is not banned, sometimes it takes only 5.
It's up to a each moderator's policy. Sometimes some easy reports get handled very quickly but in between them there are reports like posting in other language in English section and it takes a few more hours to be handled.

Hello!

I try to clean up this one, thread started only one week ago and has already over 30 pages of spam comments. Not all of them look like paid bumps, so I will only report the obvious ones.
[ANN]First global sharing App|Share, Rent, Profit everything You want

I don't know how you handle cases like this one if it's possible to trash it? There are still few normal comments.

I'll update when I'm ready  Smiley

Edit: Done, but better trash the topic

You can report that as plagiarism here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926895.0.
The lazy guy will be banned.
I've reported similar one earlier today.

I don't know if it's useful to report such cases for plagiarism, they will just create a new account and start spamming again.

We can't do much about it. All we can do is to get them banned and which raises the level of evil for the IP.
That's all we can do

The user dkbfl Spamming all local boards with this messages !

The implications for your taxes due would be significant, depending upon the choice (either FIFO or LIFO methods) you make. So I would suggest to try LIFO and FIFO calculators to decide which method is better for you. Here are the links for very easy-to-use handy Excel sheet for calculating the gains (after commissions) in bitcoin (or other cryptocurrency) trading using FIFO and LIFO methods.

I don't want to move from the subject of the OP so you are welcome to the CLUB If you want to post your investigation.
Thanks for the invitation, I'd like to join the club, but I can only dedicate a few hours, mainly on the weekends to nuke these spammers from the forum... hope this is not a problem.
I'll copy here my reporter stats as a kind of application, so you can decide if you want to count me in your team or not (because my accuracy is not 100%):
Code:
You have reported 725 posts with 99% accuracy (703 good, 10 bad, 12 unhandled). Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.
I'll check back a bit later if I'm accepted.

No worries, everyone are busy these days. You can report when it suits you. I put up a club approval procedure only to avoid adding spammers, so big part of the people who joined were people I know from before.

Thanks Smiley

I've found this post in the plagiarism topic, it contains 58 connected accounts (or it's stated there).
I've made an archive of it, just in case of need, becasue it was asked to be deleted because it's off topic there.
Shall we have a look at them or this is something different?

Edit:
I've just saw a new analysis about posts created in the last month. I've started to check the first few jr. member posters from the top 25, but most of them are bounty hunters with nearly or more than 1000 posts per month...
This is the top 25 table:

1740777 1176 2 bounty hunter, no meaningful posts, merits aren't showing up too
1745083 989 0 bounty hunter, no merits
1742707 872 2 bounty hunter, one of the two merits is for deleted post, the second is in local
1747050 817 2 bounty hunter and posting in local, one merit showing up, it seems the post worths it
I'll run thru the rest, even though I am under no illusions about the outcome...

Some members spamming news in various threads. Most of their messages contain nothing but copied text with the link.

How the community reacts to the announcements of hiring paidposters? After all, what they are writing often turns out to be a lie to attract clients to the scam projects and it is one of the main reasons of spam.

This project is still open, and the OP is spreading sh!t constantly.
I've reported him a few times, like when he answered one question in 7 consecutive posts.
I see same sh!t is still going on. I guess if more people report it he may be banned.

Btw looks like he is using paid bumps too.

How's everyone doing? I'm still refining my plagiarism thingy... so not much contribution to this thread recently but I'm sneaking in once in a while to grab some threads you guys are working on and using them to test my scripts. Now I'm trying to finish a parser for user's post history and see if I can find more offenders by comparing posts of known plagiarizers with posts of suspected plagiarizers.

So, everything started from this topic.
It's just an average topic from my watchlist, but from time to time spammers start to bump it and that's all.
Today I've found something strage, two users replied, and the strange thing was that their activity count is exactly the same as their post count.
Are we just after the activity period change, or this is something strange?

I've just started to follow this two user, and got to this topic:

Started from there, I just run thru on a few pages and found that there are a lot of users like this, where the activity count exactly matches the post count.
Is this something strange or just an interesting match?

As far as I saw, they are relatively old account, but with less posts than expectable, so it's possible that they have been hacked and after farmers started to post with them regurarly (1 post per day)?

Does it worth a try to just scrape the database somehow for users like this and check them for anything fishy?

Few users, who has this match (post count=activity count; link):

Have you seen Open scraped data of all the users - SQL Lite DB - 2.481.270 users? That should make it quite easy to make this list without scraping all accounts.
