I'm new to the thread.  Just perusing some of the pages it seems like the developer isnt active and there a few issues with this coin.  Could someone give me a brief update?

you're right, the developer isn't superficially hyping up this coin and spamming this thread, instead he just works on developing stuff - very unconventional.

haven't heard of any issue with the coin tho.

I understand how nowadays people are desperately watching developer`s actions, but that doesn`t mean that he should also be in charge of marketing... the coin has the possibility to autopromote itself based on the technical expect, as for the hype you are searching for , that can be done by the community and active involvement. Satoshi didn`t make any marketing efforts whatsoever:)) (the statement is just for fun but still, you know what I mean...)

That pool still owes me around 10-15.000 coins... same story as Skein pool, issues in backend, just keep mining and you will never see your payout Smiley

Who's in charge of the twitter account?

You should really start to tweet, one single total tweets doesn't look so good

I'm getting stable payouts from this pool. Just sometimes this pool has some problems. I.e. this week payments where stopped for ~12h, but then we got all coins payed. At night ~4:00 gmt. I get stratum disconnect. And today from that time I'm getting stratum disconnects all day... Seems like someone really trying to disturb the work of the pool - that means its probably one of the successful and best pools Wink

Well, that pool is running because the pool op build his own stratum for groestl. So he is the only pool avail and when some cronjobs stuck, which happens a lot (!) with pools, he has to be there 24/7 to fix it in time. But he also needs some sleep, private time, work and all that. So it might happen that you dont get any payout in days.
Thats the problem with running pools, its a fulltime job. We got 18 right now, so 3 ppl have to take care Wink

No issues with the coin, as I know, but some issues with pools. But it needs some time to adjust everything and as other pools they will become stable.
For today this coin needs some people who can help developer to create needed additional things for this coin - such as Android/iOs wallet, modules for groestl pool (to set up some more groestl pools) and so on... And then it will spread with much higher speed. It's a very young coin, so it just needs some time to show how good it is Smiley

any guides on how to mine properly? I don't even know what qubit or skein or groestl are, I have some 280x cards. Should I be using scrypt? I would like to use a cooler method of mining if it is equally profitable, my room is intensely hot.
