For the record, I don't have access to our twitter account.

I do share admin of our FB page with Ray, and have endeavoured to keep it updated with 'newsworthy' items.

-----

On other matters, I'm very much AGAINST using the tithes to support putative future knights. I believe something similar was discussed, and rejected, before the first trenche of Knights were appointed & see no justification for changing this policy now.

I've said for a long time that the right way to grow our community is from 'grass roots' i.e. the priority for each Knight is to inform & educate RW people at the local level about the benefits of our fast, energy-efficient, low-cost alternative to the rapidly-failing traditional fiat-based systems.

Following from this, I consider it a total waste of time & resources to attempt any kind of online mass-marketing campaign. Crypto is a complex subject, and needs plenty of time & 1-to-1 educational effort to 'get through' to the sheeple. This situation is not helped by the vast majority of people - even including current 'crypto-fans' - being basically clueless about what 'money' actually is in the first place!

*ACTION POINT* There is a new (free) online course starting on 15th Feb through the University of Nicosia, I know a few have already taken this, HIGHLY recommended for all serious crypto-heads Wink

The problem, as I see it, with the forum, twatter, reddit, FB, etc etc etc is that because there are no problems with the wallet, or network, there is actually very little to say. People are very quick to bawl & shout whenever there is a problem, that's the nature of the web unfortunately. But with the basics running solidly, what is there to talk about? It's a chicken & egg thing - There's a lot we'd like to do but without a lot of money we can't do them. But without doing them, we can't get the money to do them Sad

Which is why I still advocate the Knights concentrating on their local communities, and real-world interactions  - which do not take money, but do require both time & knowledge.

On the subject of 'inflation', the last I heard only around 8% of Zeit are being staked, hence the true inflation rate is (20% of 8%) only 1.6% for 2015/16, which is pretty bloody negligible.

For those paying attention, the global markets in fiat are in a terrible state, there have been trillions of dollars 'lost' in the worst start to a year in history. Wiser heads than mine are warning that 2016 could very well be the 'blood on the streets' total collapse of the old system, so if we are holding our own in comparison this actually equates to rather good relative performance.

Anyone care to put money on where we'll be this time next year?

Updates from ZEIT Knight's War room

Lion has put forward that :
It might be a good idea to re-confirm PoK (proof of knighthood) every year.

Sound like a good idea to me as we only need to check the original ZEIT address registered on the blockchain to confirm as ownership has already been proven.

Steve points out that the following needs to be clarified:
A ZEIT Knight shall maintain the required 100,000,000 balance, for life.
While giving 10% of staking to be used for Charity, the other 90% is the Knight's personal prerogative.
Also any additional amounts of ZEIT owned by a Knight over the 100 million requirement is their own personal business.

Example: This Year Tithe @ 15% rate
Knight  : 100,000,000 ZEIT *15% = 15,000,000
Staked 15,000,000 * 10%=   1,500,000

So the tithe is only 1.5 million ZEIT , while the other 13,500,000 ZEIT is a personal discretion to be used however that Knight Deems fit.

ie:
Knight1 has 150 million ZEIT, at 15% the tithe for Knight1 is 1.5 million ZEIT.
Knight2 has 400 million ZEIT, at 15% the tithe for Knight2 is also 1.5 million ZEIT.

Amounts over the 100 million are all completely at the Knights own personal discretion and never to be calculated for tithing.

Next year when we move to the 5%,
100,000,000 ZEIT *5% = 5,000,000
5,000,000 * 10%=   500,000
So starting next year and in all Future Years the Tithe will be 500,000 ZEIT per year per Knight.

Any Knight that does not pass the verification, has until the end of that Month (March) to bring their balance back up to the required 100 Million ZEIT.
Any Knight that fails to do so will be listed as a fallen knight and lose their voting rights at the Round Table for that year until the Next PoK (proof of knighthood).
(This part is still under discussion and may be changed)

Podizzle is checking into Jubi.com

Kiklo's personal opinion is that BTC38 exchange are a bunch of asshats. My opinion only , others may vary.   Cheesy

I think that sums it up.

Any questions or discussions , lets have them.

OK,

Your Balance on the explorer shows 3,685,648.04581 ZEIT

Be sure you have a backup of your wallet.dat 1st,
you should have synced the blockchain before coping your old wallet.dat back in.

If you have already synced the blockchain,
From the COMMAND LINE or Change the shortcut so you run the following  zeitcoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet
this will take some time , if it works then restart the  zeitcoin-qt.exe -rescan  , this will also take some time.
Once that's done you should be good to go.

 Cool

FYI: If you have not already synced the blockchain follow these steps.

Step 1. Be sure to have copies of the wallet.dat out , then delete the c:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin directory (for Windows)
Step 2. Recreate the c:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin directory .
Step 3. Download the latest Zeitcoin Wallet 2.0.1.7
Step 4. Then Unpack and copy the files from ZeitcoinBlockchainSnapshot into
           C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin
Then open the Latest Zeitcoin Wallet and it will start syncing the BlockChain from the last snapshot.
Step 5. Once Zeit is completely synced , close the zeit wallet and then restart it , if it works then we know nothing is wrong with your system,
If it gives an error , post the error in the forum.

Step 6. OK , if Zeit wallet started normally , now close the Zeit Wallet.
Now rename the wallet.dat inside c:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin to emptywallet.dat
Step 7. Copy your old Wallet.dat into the  c:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin  directory.
Step 8. From the COMMAND LINE or Change the shortcut so you run the following zeitcoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet
this will take some time , if it works then restart the  zeitcoin-qt.exe -rescan  , this will also take some time.
Once that's done you should be good to go.

then PM me a link so I can download it and I will take a look at it.
Do not post the link on this forum.
It may be ~24 hours before I get a chance to work on it, but I will check it out for you, just PM me the download link.

That discussion is old. Most of the people don't understand the signing method.
(Or I am a bad explainer)  Grin

Cheers,
Ray

why u not use the wallet sign/verify methode to prove ownership of a address

send coin arounds while the wallet itself have a feature that do exactly what u want
"prove address ownership" sounds strange to me

send a address a message and a sign
and every other wallet can check if u the real owner of the address that signed the message
by run verify with exact the same data in ur wallet

address
message
sign

no transaction needed

--------------

im considering to apply this year maybe
if u would accept a knight on ur table who is king in another country  Grin

Cute,   Wink

That option was a consideration, but the transaction option that uses the block explorer where everyone could see, and serves as a record of proof.
Plus the New Knight demonstrates the ability to use coin control, which we want everyone to know how to use.  Smiley
The more Knights the merrier , I know you like rare items, and obtaining a ZEITKnighthood will be very rare, as their will only be a maximum of 300 Knights.
