Don't sweat the 20k purchase price.  If you have some time before you need the money I'm sure you will be in the green by the end of 2019.  It looks like it's beginning the turn around right now in late August.

if you feel the money you spend is too much, then it's time you do HODL, because BTC will be expensive when 2021 has arrived
everyone is waiting where the moment of BTC is really limited in total supply and it will happen 3 years later

If you go back to 2013, you'll find a lot of "I can't believe I bought Bitcoin at $1000". The reality is BTC has had many spectacular rallies, and 80-90% crashes, yet over the long haul it keeps reaching new highs.

It will eventually plateau but there's no solid evidence $20k is that mark. Could go to $100k or $1M. HODL!

I got into the bitcoin again last year after losing all my 4.5 bitcoins to ponzi schemes early last year. I bought in bitcoin again at $20k. Now bitcoin is $6k+.  I'm regretting my actions.  Huh
I am really sympathetic to you.  You have lost a lot.  But I want to assure you that you may gain much because it is not the end of life. Ups and downs are part of life.  We shall not be disappointed and be depressed for loses because new Sun Shines are waiting for us.  There are so many opportunities waiting for us.

I just want to add that make it a principal ; if you are long term small investor; never buy when everybody is buying; never sell when everybody is selling.

To cover your loss; you may buy at current price; the average cost price will come down.

I decided to invest 1% of my total assets for bitcoin. Sure, I want to make money, but it's also risky that I can lose everything. As of this writing, bitcoin is being traded for $ 16,600 and the total value I own is $ 1,148,720. I have to work 80 hours per week for 5 years to save $ 1 million and invest in securities, but with bitcoin, I earned more than $ 1 million in 2017. That's the easiest way to make money. do not have to debt. But I do not encourage you to invest in bitcoin.

That's a pity and sorry for that, cryptocurrency investment is very risk and people needs to understand the risk on it before investing.
Well I must say that you just proved on me how brave you are for doing that kind of risk. You are indeed a risk taker because now one will ever do that especially for a system which is still developing. I hope that your sacrifices will pay off someday and for that I hope you'll esrn what you deserve. I salute you for having a courage.

That's bad and I feel sorry for you but don't lose hope. Sell it when the next boom comes or btc goes above 10k and buy back at the dip after that. You have seen that btc reaches upto 6k in dips. You can recover your amount easily in few months or sell your btc and invest in some other coins which has potential to give you food gains but don't buy them at their ATH. Always wait for the dip.

You are not the only one who decided to bought and took risk that time because we are believing that the price going to boom for more and wanting for good profit. Do not regret it and continue to keep it. Someday price will up against again more than it. Do not lose hope and jeep waiting, it will gonna be worth.

Holding is the best way for your self, you have bought bitcoin at $20,000 and it higher price for bitcoin now. Maybe you have keep your bitcoin and hold until bitcoin price growing up and back to $20,000. If you keep sell your bitcoin now you can lost much money.

We all thought last year that Bitcoin will surg from 20k to 25k+ with the clean movement it was taking. A lot of investors bought at 20k because they don't want to miss out on the bull race to 30k+ but it made a U turn and surprised everyone.

Last year it was the year of bitcoin, bitcoin is good and in my opinion the price has reached the highest. And now is not the year of bitcoin, bitcoin is down. But I won't regret it because I'm sure bitcoin will be like last year back, so you don't regret that even if you buy bitcoin for that price hold your bitcoin until you get profit.

Only because of this kind of reasons it is said that before investment or any thing you should know very well about crypto world and the market and timing because without these knowledge it is impossible to survive here.

yeah sure. I fully understood the risks before i invested in it. But i never expected it to be so much of a risk.

Something that is beyond our expectation may occur and it will not be so rare in this type of investment. The risk is too high and inevitably we have to accept the harsh reality. Try to forget the bitterness and keep trying to get the best.

sorry for your lost. It is very clear that you are part of the newbie that join crypto investment  during the massive pump last year. the point is that majority of you do not study how crypto works and you do not take note about some expert review during the process. I know you would have thought the price will continue to rise like that. this is not the first time bitcoin will be witnessing such massive dump and my only advise is that you should keep your coin because better days are ahead.

I know few of us started usage of BTC from Ponzi Scheme before we metamorphosis to Cyrpto-trading. I'm sincerely sorry for your lost. What I can say is that you may see it as a loss now if you sell it off and quit cryto, but if you are a holder and also follow updates and read crypto currency news you can trade your btc for fiat and started recovery bit by bit until you are break-even. Also if you still hold it hopefully by 2020 the price will skye rocket and you become a winner. All the best!
