This ultimately the dream of many pioneers and enthusiasts, but let's face it, it will be near-impossible to get the coin into the mainstream economy short-term, and would likely see its heydays as a speculative asset and nothing more. Even I who started late in the game (2013) wanted to see bitcoin as a working currency and not just some speculative asset, although once it comes to fruition, the speculative side of things for bitcoin could weaken, ultimately lowering the number of users if the currency aspect of bitcoin fails. I understand your sentiments. There's a lot of negative connotation and governments and central banks around the world wanted to put an end not just to bitcoin but the whole crypto itself. However, I don't think that they will succeed because there are countries who remains friendly to us. I also don't think we are fighting or arguing in this community. We don't necessarily need to change, we just need to change the way we talk about Bitcoin. A lot of people have advertised Bitcoin as a way to make money and get rich quick. This is not what we need to be telling the public, as it sets false expectations. A lot of the 2017 newbies have been realizing this. I agree and the key phrase here is "long term goals" because there's nothing wrong with wanting to make some money but the people that have adopted Bitcoin in the last year are trying to become rich overnight. The Petro is a scam that is controlled by Venezuela's government (who previously stole all of the citizens money)... Bitcoin is a way to store wealth that government can't control. Many times I have come to think the same thing, but we must bear in mind that this whole cryptocurrency issue is so new that we have not yet been able to measure the real potential that it has. I agree 100% with this answer. And i personally believe it's the main reason by people can't use it for everyday payments.

Banks want to destroy it because it's decentralized but what they don't notice is that it won't really replace fiat currency. It will just be another option for the people. There is a good amount of people in this world and in the future that will only increase exponentially - Lot of market to compete. Same thing was thought about television replacing theaters and we can see now it depends on peoples taste. Same with netflix and TV.

When they supported bitcoin as a payment method, I bought every game I had on my wish list using bitcoin (I have spent more than 0.25BTC on Steam, not much, I know), then they stopped accepting bitcoin during the insanely high fees period last year, which turned me down (I know there are third–party Steam keys resellers like G2A, cdkeys, etc. which accept bitcoin, however, I wanted to support bitcoin on Steam to let them know that it is needed and being utilised as a payment option).

I think the most common reason that we are here is because to earn as Bitcoin is an investment that we could earn more fiat. When they supported bitcoin as a payment method, I bought every game I had on my wish list using bitcoin (I have spent more than 0.25BTC on Steam, not much, I know), then they stopped accepting bitcoin during the insanely high fees period last year, which turned me down (I know there are third–party Steam keys resellers like G2A, cdkeys, etc. which accept bitcoin, however, I wanted to support bitcoin on Steam to let them know that it is needed and being utilised as a payment option).

By the way, I don't blame merchants, retailers, and businesses for refusing bitcoin as a payment option, I know business is business.

I do strongly believe in you. The value and importance which should be given to a successful bitcoiner is not given upto that mark. Peoples does not think much approximately about bitcoins. Also a majority of the community here is just for money to earn from the cryptocurrencies. Most people here don't know anything about the tech and are in for money only. But you cant blame them or accuse them for anything. They have brought investment with them. Nah, I really think what's happening are part of the market manipulations of those whales and the FUD spreading is part of their dirty tactics to control the price of Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. We can use it for trading (this is the biggest support for the crypto that I know), or we can use it for the investment only, or we can buy something with the crypto, so the transaction process continues. Yes, I agree. Most people in this cryptoworld are here just to make money and only money, and this is the reason why some people are scamming and deceiving others, just to earn money. But i think if you are able to use cryptocurrency in your daily life then it is very good usage. We are earning bitcoins to get financial problem solved and when it is happening then i think it is good. As i cannot use bitcoin in my daily life as cryptocurrency is not legal to use and their is no shop to use it, so i convert my 70% of my earning in fiat currency and balance 30% i keep in reserve for future. So i think this way usage will be good for future also.

Crpyto also changed my life for the better even though at first I just enter crypto because of money but it changed as the time pass by. Show the world ?
