Situation is typical... 50-70% joins the new government, remaining part resigns or leaves the country...

That means that large number of soldiers from Central Ukraine (esp. Kiev) have also decided to dump their Ukrainian passports. Not a good sign for Tymoshenko and her allies.

I heard reports of soldiers of Crimean origin in the regiments located in Lvov region, who wished to return to Crimea, but were forced to stay at gunpoint.
Could not find any confirmations of them, so I'd be interested in seeing any info about that, either confirming or refuting them.

Don't you think Crimea is actually the same situation as Kosovo?

Kosovo ---> 97% Albanians

Crimea--> 97% Russians

it's even the same percentage Cheesy

why was Kosovo able to declare independence while Crimea is unable to do so?

the EU works in favor of USA which doesn't want Russia to become stronger?

No, it's not the same. Because Russia decided to don't use bombs against the sovereign state, and that was wrong... The bombing of peaceful citizens is required first, if you wish to perform any really legitimate referendum. It's required to provide an initial amount of democracy.

Kosovo ---> 97% Albanians
97% were not even code albanians massacred several serb settlements

During the 1920s, the Serbs outnumbered the Albanians. However, with average Albanian birth rate of 9 children per woman against 1.5 children / woman for the Serbs, the demographic balance was quickly overthrown. Even in the 1980s the Serbs numbered around 30-33%. But then the Albanians started their ethnic cleansing campaign. Most of the remaining Serbs either fled to Central Serbia or converted to Islam.

Once the Serb population was below the 10% mark, all that was needed was to bring Hillary Clinton to Kosovo.  Grin

I sure hope not, but it does not really matter. It's the same ilk as him that started the genocide of Serbs in Kosovo.

At the time they referred to them as "humanitarian bombings". Bombing bridges full of people, orphanages full of kids and the Chinese embassy was "good for humanity". Roll Eyes

Don't you think that the bombing of the Chinese embassy was intentional?

Hm. It seems that they've decided to dissolve the current republican authorities and replace it with newly formed organization, but using the current staff. Well... I don't think that was necessary but it makes a sense to maintain the uniformity with existent members of federation. I wonder how much money it will cost. Roll Eyes

Latest news from Crimea.

Of the 18,800 Ukrainian soldiers stationed in Crimea, 6500 have decided to withdraw to Kiev-controlled provinces. Some 13,300 have decided to defect to Russia.

That means that more than two-thirds of the Ukrainian soldiers have defected.

(The salary of a soldier in Russia is almost 8 times higher than that in Ukraine).

See the "conversation" between ukrainian officers and so-called ministry of defence... He ordered them to shoot on unarmed citizens. And insults them for their refusal from his criminal orders. So it's obvious that salary it's not the only reason. Roll Eyes

Ewald Stadler reports from the Crimea referendum and warns about the propaganda.

No translated video is available, unfortunately. Original video links:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoouMLNZfxA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ft5fYfuWgAk

Quotes from the first three articles:

"Western media show us pure Hollywood over the Crimea."

"Everything what we see in the media have absolutely nothing in common with what I saw with my own eyes. I repeat, nothing in common."

"Whoever in Austrian and European media proves otherwise and tries to play these Hollywood scenarios, he deliberately kindles discontent. He wants something else, but not the preservation of peace on the continent. This means that everyone in the audience of our media already are victims of disinformation."

"We carried out the mission, we were in Yalta with my colleague and assistant. It's certainly a historical site and there was a definite interest. But we were able to say wherever we want to go. I didn't stay in Yalta, I've traveled in the suburbs too. First, I didn't seen any military convoys. I didn't seen any military vehicles. About this military posts I have to say that these photos and videos were made in the Ukraine. I've requested to check it, and these photos were made not in the Crimea. Once again, the pictures which are distributed here, as well as those that I have seen in the news, weren't made in the Crimea. And that was proven in the additional article of my report. Second, I also did not see any police or repression. The only police staff that I've seen it's like everywhere else, the police officers near polling stations, who monitored the compliance with a public order."

"Interestingly, that almost entire polling stations staff was presented by women."

"Unfortunately, our journalists like to refer to documents that they have not even read."

"Unfortunately, with propaganda the swapping of x and y places is possible on this continent. Yes, it's very depressing." Cheesy

P.S. Ewald Stadler is Austrian MP, he was a member of international observers group.
