And now the cost for all this will start shifting back to the Russian citizens.
I wonder how many of them are willing to pay for this Smiley
It's all about the mentality. There is a major difference between western and eastern europe... Eastern people are ready to pay when it's necessary to achieve strategical benefits, even if they don't like it too much. Interestingly, that this principle works everywhere, even for house affairs. It's something that western people will never understand, that's why all colored revolution attempts are failing here.  Roll Eyes

Crimea territory requires some additional population, and ex-Ukraine citizens is an optimal choice. It's much better than a massive muslim migration.

P.S. stupid forum, session breaks every hour %)

Glad that you state this. So , from now on I can happily say i'm from central Europe as none of my fellow Romanians will do this.

Most of people here will better hang themselves than paying for something , even if it will benefit them in a few years after.. I thing we're number two in the EU for underground deals and tax avoidance. < if that is even a word Wink

ps.
I think I've already changed my password 10 times lately on this forum.

I can attest to that mindset. I had a bit of a culture shock in that regard, when I started living in the West.
I think Douglas Adams summed it very well with his "somebody else's problem field" (SEP) Smiley

Crimea territory requires some additional population, and ex-Ukraine citizens is an optimal choice. It's much better than a massive muslim migration.

I don't know how effective that can be. Muslims are mostly employed in the construction sector, which is controlled by the Azeri mafia. They'll prefer Muslims even if the Slavs are ready to work for lower wages. Some Moldvins and Serbs are working in that sector, but their numbers are declining due to low wages and Muslim racism.

Zadornov about Latvia and a faction of their Parliament that wanted to take away his citizenship, because he wrote a letter supporting Crimeans

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjjzqROKb_U

He was born in Latvia, his parents are buried in Latvia, he likes Latvia and Latvians, but he does not like the government's handling of the Nazi question and the oppression of languages.

He also tells a story of a Latvian businessman who sells Latvian smoked sardines (shproty), who was very outspoken against Russia, and decided to help those poor bedraggled and oppressed guys from Right Sector (as they are presented on Latvian TV) with a complimentary shipment of sardines, delivered personally. At the border he got met by those Right Sectors, called for some reason a damned Jew, beaten up, his sardines got confiscated and he was sent back. He wasn't that outspoken in Latvian media since that episode. Smiley

The Supreme Rada (parliament) in Kiev coined the term for Crimea. It is not officially called a "temporarily occupied territory":
http://ria.ru/world/20140415/1004001012.html

I take it that by "permanently occupied territory" they would mean the Ukrainian rule over it?

It was voted for by 228 out of 226 required.

It assumes punishments for citizens of Crimea who collaborate with "occupation authorities" (that is, everyone living in Crimea). According to this law, Ukrainian law is valid on Crimean territory, yet Russia assumes all responsibility for any human rights violations, and there is a special clause for punishment for entry of Ukrainian citizens into the occupied territory.

They try, in other words, to stop the flood of refugees, running from Ukraine to Crimea.

Some of the comments to the news:
Quote
- Crimea made a timely runner from Ukraine, or it would have really become a Nazi occupied territory for the second time in recent history.

- The whole of Ukraine is a US-occupied territory.

Considering how popular Putin and his United Russia Party is in Crimea, I will be really surprised if his party does not win all the seats in the next parliamentary elections.

UR don't have a local branch in the Crimea, for now.

I wonder to know why they've decided to keep a parliamentary republic. I guess that presidential or mixed republic would be more sustainable.

They must be joking.

Ukraine sent the first packet of documents to European court on human rights against Russia for violating human rights of the citizens of Crimea.
 Shocked

http://www.bfm.ru/news/254640?doctype=news

So, referendum is against human rights? Or did they have something else in mind?

Quote

A commentator from Crimea writes how difficult it was to get to the voting offices in Crimea during the referendum, due to queues. He and his grandmother managed to get during the day. His parents later in the evening.
Now factory Zaliv started working and e finally got salary. Ukraine robbed Crimea during the 23 years they had it.

Another commentator wrote that Crimea is lucky to have gotten out of the mess that is Ukraine in time.

Eastern Ukraine has been subsidizing the illiterate and unskilled population of Western Ukraine for  more than two decades now. May be now, it is time for the EU and the US to start subsidizing the Westerners.

I finally start seeing the picture with the "human right oppression". Guess what? It's gay!

After yesterday's news, I read today that gay parades were red-lighted in both Sevastopol and Simferopol, so Russian gay society is going to the human rights court against both of these administrative regions. Looks like gay procovanda to me.  Roll Eyes

Sometimes they do:

But you are right, it's unusual behavior. It's part of the mentality, maybe... That's because any senseless demonstration of emotions could be recognized as a sign of not so smart person. This is the reason why typical official photo usually doesn't display any emotions.
