Natalia Poklonskaja swore allegiance to Russia:

As for those relocating to Ukraine, I'd guess that many of them have further plans of relocating to EU at a later point.

“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
“It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.”

May be to Turkey, or may be to some country in the EU... who know? 7,700 out of a population of 2.4 million is less than 0.3%, and I won't be much concerned. If anyone is ready to live according to the rules, then they can. Else, they can get out.

small remember @ukraine a country that never had today borders until 1991, are people ready to start a war for that ? if is not clear remember the country with bigger guns win in this case the ultimate gun are nukes

also remember this when u talk about nukes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtUfBc4qQMg

The Poles are getting really intelligent (especially after they joined the EU). They know that the enemies' enemy is a friend. First it was the turn of the Chechens. Now it is the turn of the Crimean Tatars:

Crimean Tatar leader wins Poland's first 'Solidarity' award

http://www.news-republic.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=4&articleid=22726772

Quote
The leader of Crimea's pro-Kiev Tatar community, Mustafa Dzhemilev, on Wednesday became the first winner of Poland's Solidarity Award, a pro-democracy prize worth a million euros, the Polish foreign minister said.

Note: The award price and other expenses will be taken out of the Nuland's $5 billion fund for Ukraine.  Grin

Yeah, looks like that secret converstation with Switzerland president about freezing his $40 billions bank account really made him change his mind about plans on Ukraine.

Hmm.. keep dreaming about the imaginary $40 billion in the Swiss account and another $400 billion in the American account. And Crimea is lost to Ukraine. Forever. Come to terms with it before it is too late.

Forever ...like what 10 years from now on , 100 , 1000? Can you really predict the future?

OK... I'll change my words.

Crimea will remain as a federal subject  of Russia, even after Ukraine ceases to exist as a unified independent nation. (That will happen quite soon, if the things are going like this).

An American in Crimea: People are pleased with joining Russia

http://english.pravda.ru/society/stories/08-05-2014/127534-american_crimea-0/

Quote
The few people I have been able to talk to tell me they are very pleased with joining Russia. They did not want to be ruled by the fascist government in Kiev. The elected government was overthrown. The new, illegal, government was making changes that were not welcome in many parts of Ukraine. They feel safe now and hope for a better future with Russia.

Since that can mean Ukraine will split in 6 months and Crimea will stay in the Russian federation for two years more after which it will rejoin the new formed Ukraine  , I agree with the text change Smiley.

That will not happen without a major war that exterminates almost all of the current Crimean population, and a good portion of Russia.

Bryant, another interesting quote from the article you provided:
Quote
In the past, I am told, much of the money earned through tourism was taken from Crimea. Either by the owners of the hotels or by taxes. I sounds like 50% of the money left the region.

And an icing on the cake:
Russian Ministry of Defence has launched a new clothes line, under a trade mark brand "Polite people"  Grin Tongue
http://www.bbc.co.uk/russian/russia/2014/05/140508_polite_people_brand.shtml

The Minister said a month ago:
"About use of Russian special forces in Crimea: It is difficult to find a black cat in a dark room, especially if it's not there. More so if said cat is clever, brave and polite." Smiley

Oh, and there is of course a hymn, called "Polite people":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpp8bHn0Yu8

“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
“It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.”

1. According to a Federal Migration Service official, more than 555.000 people have received the Russian passports so far in the peninsula.

2. Revenge by the Kiev junta:

Ukraine builds dam on North Crimean Canal to block water supply to peninsula

http://en.itar-tass.com/world/730769

Quote
Ukraine is building a dam on the North Crimean Canal in the Kherson Oblast about 40km from the border with Crimea, Crimea Inform news agency reported citing witnesses’ reports. The dam is built from bags with sand on the side of the Armyansk - Kherson highway near a bridge in the town of Kalanchak.

At the end Putin walks through the crowd of people. Can you see Obama doing the same in America? Wink

I wonder if the West still has the audaciousness to call it occupation/amnnexation after these images. The reception in Crimea is that given to liberators, not occupants.

Putin asked the world to respect the right of the Russian people to self-determination and reinstatement of historical justice:

Ukraine builds dam cutting off Crimea water supply
http://rt.com/news/158028-ukraine-water-supply-crimea/

Recent satellite images show that Kiev is deliberately trying to cut off Crimea peninsula's water supply by building a dam. In the meantime Russian scientists are trying to find ways to supply Crimea with fresh water.

Experts from the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources are developing ways to supply fresh water to the Crimea from the Kuban River in the Krasnodar region to the North Crimean Canal which now receives limited water-flow, as Kiev tightens the lid on Simferopol.

“As one of options of providing the peninsula with water, we are considering an option of drawing water supply from the Kuban River and channeling it through the Strait of Kerch to the end portion of North Crimean Canal,” director of the department of public policy and regulation in the field of water resources ministry of Russia Dmitry Kirillov told Ria Novosti.

Quote
“The harvest will be partially or fully lost across 120,000 hectares of farmland that should be irrigated [by water from the canal],” Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov said in April, as cited by the Moscow Times.

US calls Putin's visit to Crimea 'provocative and unnecessary'

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2014/05/10/362021/us-putins-visit-to-crimea-provocative/

Quote
The United States has condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Crimea, saying the trip was “provocative and unnecessary.” "Crimea belongs to Ukraine and we don't recognize of course the illegal and illegitimate steps by Russia in that regard," US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

It's a bit naive. The best option of the US to contain Russia would be to have Putin assassinated by some covert assets and have him replaced with a weak leader who can be easily manipulated. I did notice some obvious Secret Service type guys in the video but not as much as those that surround Obama.

Putin does have an advantage that he is a rather short guy so he makes for a more difficult target to hit. Wink

lol... Assassinating Putin won't be as easy as elimination third world leaders such as Hugo Chavez. Putin is ex-KGB and he takes strong safety measures to prevent any such misadventures.
