The Jalta Cinema studio, that was the birthplace of many a beloved Soviet film will see a revival after 25 years of decay and plunder:
http://ria.ru/culture/20140814/1020045423.html
After all the legal matters with the current unknown owners are settled.

During the Ukraine reign, it was systematically destroyed, slated for demolition so as to get to the prised land:
http://www.yaltarealestate.com/news.php?readmore=261

And to that end, United Russia is preparing a law proposition that will allow RF to forcefully buy out from Ukraine or Ukrainian owners property in Crimea and Sevastopol.
http://ria.ru/crimea_today/20140827/1021593429.html
Of which there is a lot of in Crimea in strategically and culturally important places.

Worth noting, that this will not not expropriation, even though the legality of ownership of the real estate is questionable in the first place.

Some moonbat Islamists from the Crimean Tatar community went to Donetsk, to fight against the Donetsk People's Army. A few Afghans and Arabs joined them. Most of them are coming back in coffins.  Grin

People also complain that during the Ukrainian occupation of Crimea, the agriculture of the peninsular was systematically destroyed. Crimea was even forbidden producing their own ice cream.

Not only that. Some of the most fertile land were seized by the Kiev regime, and given to the Crimean Tatar immigrants. Right now, almost one-fourth of all the agricultural land in Crimea is under the occupation of the Tatars.

This is the descendants of the Mongol hordes? That enslave and wipe out many Russian Cities?

Partly yes, a few millions of russians and lithuanians were enslaved by the crimean tatars. But the modern Crimean Tatars are closer to Turks than to Mongols. In any case, there are no problems with mutual understanding between russian and tatar people. Millions of tatars are living in Russia, in few federal subjects they're majority and there are a lot mixed marriages.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatarstan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bashkortostan

However, some of crimean tatars decided that a fact they were victims of Stalin's repression gives them a right to steal the public and even private lands. Many ukrainians and russians were forced to leave their homes in 1991-1994 and ukrainian government didn't tried to do anything with that. But after declaration of independence from the ukraine, crimean government doesn't tolerate them anymore. Some of them were already evicted from the public lands, others will follow soon.

Personally I think that eviction isn't enough and they should be tried. But there were no criminal cases yet...

What about the dozens of Slavs who were murdered by the Tatars in various racially motivated attacks in the past? (Remember the murder of Katya Koren by Bilal Gaziyev?) Before the Crimean independence, the situation was extremely worse off for the Slavs in some of the rural areas, such as Bakhchysarai. The Tatar goons were intimidating the majority population, so that they'll flee the area leaving the Muslims with all the agricultural land and real estate.

Why did Russia leave Crimea to Ukraine as the USSR disintegrated?

Very simple. Because at that time the US puppet (Boris Yeltsin, the drunkard) was the Russian president. He never cared about his own people. The population in Crimea at that time revolted to secede from Ukraine, but both Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kravchuk forced them to stay with that country. Also, Leonid Kravchuk tried to destroy the ethnic Russian majority in Crimea (75% in 1991, 58% in 2014) by importing Muslims from Uzbekistan.

About Crimean referendum and a parallel to Scotland: USA says Crimean referendum is invalid because the whole of Ukraine didn't get to vote on the matter of secession of Crimea from Ukraine. Now, is the whole of the UK going to vote in the referendum on the matter of secession of Scotland from the UK?

No.

http://www.scotreferendum.com/questions/who-can-vote-in-the-referendum/

I rest my case.

3 days remaining to parliamentary elections.

Opinion polls indicate that United Russia is expected to win more than two-thirds of the vote. Not much surprising, given Putin's support earlier.

http://www.c-inform.info/news/id/11821

Rodina is expected to win 4.5% of the vote. If they cross the threshold, then it will be a very significant development. A party which looks after the ethnic Slavs is badly needed in Russia, although the KPRF is not too bad in that matter.

From another thread:
Speaking about "invasion", some interesting statements from Turchynov were published.

http://nbnews.com.ua/ru/news/131604/

Yes, the article is an interesting read.

I especially liked the last of Turchinov's remarks:

Quote
«И этo являeтcя бaзoй для вoзвpaщeния Кpымa Укpaинe – пoнимaниe бoльшинcтвoм кpымчaн тoгo, чтo oни пoтepяли», – дoбaвил oн.

Quote
And this [meaning "totalitarian" Russia as opposed to "free" Ukraine] is that very base for the return of Crimea to Ukraine  - the understanding by the majority of Crimeans of what they have lost"

Indeed Crimeans were keenly observing what they have lost, looking at the ethnic cleansing of the Russian population in the South-East - something that they definitely lost. They also lost and can't wait for the friendly beating by the Ukrainian nationalists to resume - previously those frequented Crimea to teach Crimeans how to love Ukraine. And I am not even talking about the loss experience of a complete economic collapse that they could have enjoyed should they have stayed with Ukraine.
