Ok...

All other things being equal, and a bit of a derail. But... Why the HELL is eleuthria's trust rating so low? Mine is higher, and I mostly just talk.

Because all of my feedback is from people that are "untrusted" in the default trust chain.  And people just don't seem to use the trust system for pool ops.

The trust system seems really arbitrary.

Eleuthria has a trust rating visible to me of 10: -0 / +1

Yours is all 0's.

So what does that mean?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

yeah, the system is fubar. I just wish that the default people paid more attention... Or it was abolished altogether. On my side it was showing him at 5, and me at 30. Mine probably shouldn't be anywhere near that high, and his should have at least a couple more zeroes.

For what it's worth, I've enjoyed this pool and appreciate all the hard work that has been put into it.  Admittedly, I've not personally mined in a while, but I'm sad to see it come to an end.

eleuthria, I haven't mined at your pool since a bank of HD5970s could make you a lot of coin but when I heard you were closing I felt compelled to stop by and say thanks. You ran the most honest pool I used (I got screwed by a couple of them) and were always available to help with problems. Bitcoin needs more people like you. Best of luck with your future endeavors.

the only people with a trust rating for me are:
kano
OgNasty
nicehash
and
MoreBloodWine

everyone elce is a bold 0

I've had scammers approach me by PM to ask I change my trust rating after they stole Bitcoin from me, so its got to be worth something.

eleuthria, we understand that BTC Guild is not for sale, but are you interested in selling only the btcguild.com domain?

Kind regards,
NiceHash

Possibly, but it would not be for 2016.

eleuthria, we sent you a PM with proposal for the purchase of the btcguild.com domian, did you had the time to check it out?

Thanks!

Kind regards,
NiceHash

I suggest not selling the domain until connection attempts for stratum ports have stopped.

The domain will not be sold until 2016 or later.  I will not be selling it to somebody so they can redirect stratum.btcguild.com to their own server right after the pool shuts off.

Why would anybody think otherwise from a guy that has been a class act for years! Sorry to see the pool shut down but good luck with whatever you do in the future eleuthria.

OK, eleuthria, fair enough. If the domain would be for sale, we would redirect stratum.btcguild.com to our stratum servers, thus provide continuous mining for the current users. We did the same recently after yaamp.com was shut down and users were pleased with this decision, since many of them were using yaamp.com stratum pool as the only pool in the miner configuration ... there are probably many btcguild users with similar configuration (using btcguild as the only pool in the miner configuration) and all of these miners will go into "space-heater-only-mode" Wink after stratums will be shut down. Of course, it's miners responsibility to properly (re)confiugre their miners and like I said we respect eleuthria's decision. Keep on hashing Wink

It's actually better for Bitcoin if unmanaged miners go "space heater mode" than continue to mine blindly anyway.

Although I'm curious how you would plan to provide continuous mining without Eleuthria being willing to provide the private information of BTCGuild users... Wink

We haven't missed a payment to a single miner in whole operating history since April 2014. All payments were on time (maybe sometimes delayed up to an hour or two). NiceHash is run as a legit company, acting by the laws and paying taxes. How many BTC pools do that?

The domain will not be sold until 2016 or later.  I will not be selling it to somebody so they can redirect stratum.btcguild.com to their own server right after the pool shuts off.

When a company #1 purchases company #2, it urgently gets all information stored in company #2. This offer is more like a company take over, rather than just domain purchase, with the exception that we are not interested in software; in fact, we are interested only in domain and 2 columns of database (username and btc address) - so we can properly link each mining username with miners BTC address. That way, miners continue to mine and get paid in Bitcoins. Additionally to that, we would transfer all current BTCGuild balances of miners to balances in our system so there is no hassle needed about late withdraws and reaching minimum balances.

The domain will not be sold until 2016 or later.  I will not be selling it to somebody so they can redirect stratum.btcguild.com to their own server right after the pool shuts off.

If you have any doubts regarding our intentions, we can disclose you full details about the company standing behind. We are not some rogue savages trying to steal hashrate as some are trying to present us here. Our intentions are to fully pay all miners of BTCGuild that would continue to mine on BTCGuild domain after closure - every share will be paid in BTC, the way NiceHash has been operating since the beginning.
