So why did this coin have a huge spike today? it looks like its still trending to hit huge numbers? Is it because of the client update or did it epoch to the next level?

^^^??

The price spiked for the same reason any crypto spikes when there's a news story and attention drawn to it. Pumpers know that if they pump a coin immediately after it has some attention (the press release) it will make people think the coin is going "to the moon" and they'd better hitch a ride. Drives the price up and then the pumpers dump it, leaving those new to the game holding the bag...basically, they've just taken half of your money from you. Happens with every coin. Beware of rapid price escalations, because they are most likely pumps and will inevitably result in a dump...so don't buy on the way up.

Are http://altexplorer.net/ and http://cryptexplorer.com/ on the wrong fork? They're about 40 blocks behind other people's wallets.

Yeah bud, still have not updated.. do people not read emails or what??

Yes, sadly block explorer owners did not update their wallets are in the wrong fork.
We have been trying to reach them.

For the time being please do NOT rely on the information on those sites.

Wow. I mean, just, wow. These sites are supposed to be dependable.

EMC2 is already HUGE. What are these sites thinking? There's money, time, effort, and sanity on the line here.

Owners of those sites, if you're reading this, what are your advertisers going to say when I start going elsewhere for my data (as in: as of a half hour ago)? Their ads are not going to get clicks (let alone views) anymore.

Be especially aware that going live on Crypsty almost ALWAYS spells a pump and dump...so trade with extreme caution.

True....however the price is low on this moment, in my humble opinion.

Looks like the fork made the diff do down quite a bit.. look at coinwarz.com, einsteinium is first at the moment and it's mainly 'cause of the drop in diff.. lot ot people must be mining on pools that are not up to date :/

You know... let's just update AFTER the fork.

Wonder how many pool/crypto site maintainers don't check their emails every day...

Actually, debrause is part of the dev team. He has been moving since before we decided that we needed to push the update sooner then later. Because he was moving he had no phone or internet to stay abreast. Hes now back on the case as they just installed his new internet.

But a lot of others do not check emails and its getting annoying.

Fair enough, but as you may have guessed I was really aiming that to the people that it concerns more than derbrause himself.

How can one find out if a certain P2pool is working on the correct chain? Is it at all possible?
If not, could one of the devs please update the OP and point out which pools are updated and which aren't.

Thank you! Keep up the good work! Smiley

ATTENTION!

Hashrapid Pool HAS NOT confirmed they have updated their wallet! Please move your miners to another pool ASAP! before the fork happens! If any of you can get in touch with the hashrapid admin, please do so!

Same situation for the following P2Pools:
http://p2pool.crunchpool.com
http://emc2.gr2pool.eu
http://coin.iptron.net

This pool has confirmed the update:  http://p2pool.thepeeps.net

The rest could not be traced!

We're sorry for this, but unfortunately the pool maintainers have not responded to our mails and they have not taken a proactive stance!
Hey! relax just a bit!

1st I never had a notification mail in my inbox.

2nd my pool is updated since 2 days before (emc2.gr2pool.eu)(you can see when by checking a small downtime

3rd I anounced it to the forum... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg6107468#msg6107468

cheers
