After people realized that this is nothing special, they'll return to coins with something behind like EMC2.

Alive and kicking!! The people who have been selling are really just selling into the strong hands that have been involved since day one. Lots of things in the works. Just be patient! Imagine this was early 2010 and you just got your first few bitcoins. Would you be crying about the low value and minimal movement? I doubt it! Good coins with promise and future take time to flourish. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!

Just by you posing the question should wave some flags; but what is your context or point of reference.

The common phrase "you're dead to me" refers to usefulness/utility, many of those who purchased or mine(d) EMC2 for short-term performance have expressed varying levels of  disappointed from divestment to the    , clearly EMC2 is 'dead to them' or not useful, at this time.

With respect to the common usage of 'dead' within the cryptocurrency universe the answer is no, EMC2 is not dead or dying at present because it is responsive.  
However, it is ill, and condition 'critical'.  Value rapidly deteriorating (~60% loss in 10 days).

The viability test for EMC2 is its value at the time of the next fundraisers.  

if it is 800+ range it made miraculous recovery,
if 700 range, healthy,
if 600 range, good,
if 500 range, fair,
anything < 500 it is in really poor condition.

what time EMC2 go to the moon

if recent history is any indication of future performance, now that EMC2 has seen 375 twice the CC should be experiencing an upswing at this time, however three factors are still at play:

1) 'Tuesday's press release' failed to provide any measurable bounce,
2) the absence of any voiced short term plan(s) for EMC2, coupled with the unnecessary reiteration of the "long term" plan
and
3) most important of all, the short term buyer's market.  At this point broad based faith in EMC2 is thinning, remaining devotees either can't, or choose not to, support a higher value at this time as such the value continues to sink.


Given all of the above EMC2 is more likely to see 200+ than 600+ by Saturday, but not likely to see either of them.  

Whatever the value is Monday 9:30am EST will set the tone for the rest of the week, if it is 500+ it will be good for the coin, if it is < 424 it will be a rough week for the coin, from 425 to 499 you will likely see a crazy week.



[EDIT: As of 4pm EST today EMC2 broke into 200 zone this is a REALLY bad sign]

Even Bitcoin and many other coin have bad time. Main thing - dont panic. Remember Bitcoin was worth 1300$, now he worth 400$. And now view EMC2 price. Sound familiar?

Markets are made up of speculators.

If the majority of the market think that scrypt coins are on the way out, and other algorithm-type coins are a more healthier investment, prices for scrypt coins will fall and prices for other algorithms will rise or at least hold their values a lot longer.

Other algorithms are not just different in name, they are not all a gimmick. You do have certain benefits i.e...more secure, less power consumption etc which do make them more appealing to mine and to invest.

I implore you, not as a miner but as your biggest pool operator, to implement an algorithmic change to keep up with the changing crypto-currency landscape.

Remember, speculators make up the value of the coin, you might have a fantastic brilliant idea (which you do) but that will not be enough to maintain this coin.

You may think that doing nothing is the best course of action, but in dynamic market, sitting still might be the absolute worst thing you can do.
