Hello guys and Christine! Smiley What i have missed?

The Einsteinium Foundation is now officially a registered ( in Canada) non-profit organization. Pretty sweet, should help the coin grow and make it easier to do so

I think no matter what we announced somebody would have been disappointed, the nature of the market. There is a certain irrationality to the market and expectations. How people are going to take it depends on if they are in it for the short or long term.
I also think people keep forgetting we are announcing our finalists tomorrow, there will be voting, a winner, and at the end of voting we will be going through our first halving.

Hey Christine, is this still happening today?

It should be happening very soon. Waiting to hear back from the other adviser.

Oh in other news Moolah and Experiment.com are talking to each other, Experiment may soon take cryptocurrency (they are definitely interested).  Grin Hopefully, things progress, but it is out of our hands now.

Guys,

Just wanted to pop in with a little update/news regarding our scientific advisory board.

We have teamed up with two people so far who will help to ensure that all our funding goes to worthwhile projects and not junk science.

The first of the two you may already be familiar with as he was the winner of our first vote.

Walter Moss, Ph.D.
Post-Doc: Yale University
Stuny Stoneybrook BS, Chemistry
University of Rochester
MsC Chemistry
University of Rochester
Ph.D. Chemistry (Biological)

The second is
Sander Blok,
Sander holds a Bachelors degree in chemistry from the university of Groningen, a topmasters degree in nanoscience from the university of Groningen,
Ph.D. Candidate in Physics, Leiden University

Sander and Walter will both be reviewing the nominees once a month ensuring that only real science that follows our strict guidelines gets put up to vote.

Walter also gave us this quote to post on our site, I figured I'll share it here before it gets uploaded to the site.

"I feel incredibly privileged to be the very first awardee of The Einsteinium Foundation. The Einsteinium Foundation has provided me with essential support to advance my work on understanding the connections between molecular structures in Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and EBV-associated diseases (e.g. Hodgkin’s lymphoma and other deadly cancers). This early investment toward a very promising line of research will likely have an “outsized” impact on the field. We are at a very basic stage, but I have high confidence that we are going to make significant discoveries with strong implications to biomedicine (e.g. better therapies for EBV-associated cancers).

With science funding so hideously scarce even very good/significant projects can find it hard to secure funding; this is particularly true at the early stages. What makes this award so important, at this early stage of my own work, is that it will allow me to collect critically important “proof of principle” data to help secure additional funding. Eventually this will allow me to build an independent and sustainable research program aimed at understanding the roles of EBV molecular structure in disease, and in targeting these structures to help treat EBV-associated diseases.

I sincerely thank the Foundation for the financial and moral support they have shown (and continue to show) to my project. I wholeheartedly support the mission of the Einsteinium Foundation and look forward to all the other amazing science that will be made possible through their efforts. I can’t stress enough how important is early-stage funding for research, and this foundation helps fulfill a critical need in the scientific community."

The transactions that I sent before the wallet upgrade don't show up in the block explorer. I backed up my wallet and upgraded it but now that it's all caught up I still don't have the coin's in my wallet or at the destination I sent them to before the upgrade. I still see the transactions as 0/unconfirmed in my updated wallet on the "Overview" tab and under "Recent Transactions".
try launching a wallet with -rescan command line key added to it. on windows you can do it, for example, by making a shortcut and adding -rescan to the target in properties. if it doesn't work - you can try to export your private key and import it into fresh wallet.

launch your client as usual and wait for it to load the blockchain and start up
click on 'help' in the menu bar (top right)
click on 'debug window'
select the 'console' tab
if you encrypted the wallet, type: walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
type: dumpprivkey [your wallet address here]
this will return the private key, you can copy it now; ensure you clear your clipboard/history afterwards

then make a backup of your old wallet.dat and delete the original, launch again.
in the console:
importprivkey 'your key' 'label for your key'
without quotes

@Mikers

Thanks for the tip. I was able to retrieve my coins that were lost in limbo. Much appreciated. What is the cap on transaction amounts?

If you are still reviewing switching algo's, then you should really look at Twecoin. In my testing it beats out Hefty-1, X11, and even Groestl as far as power consumption and heat. I am very interested in the coin, but I invested in GPU's and refuse to mine scrypt as ASIC's are all about. I was also hindered by the heat and power usage, but now have room to grow! Hope you switch soon.

When will the wallet have a fix for the Heartbleed SSL bug?

You're assuming the wallet has that bug. The Heartbleed is present only in rpc-ssl protocol, which isn't used by our wallet client, also, RPC ports are not exposed to the internet by default.

The Android wallet is not working a lost my coins where is the Update?

The Android wallet has been updated for a while now, please reinstall from the Google PlayStore.

When will the wallet have a fix for the Heartbleed SSL bug?

From a diff thread:

Not every coin is effected by the bug, it really depends if the coin uses TLS in public operations, this is something bitcoin does use. If it does, it's vulnerable to the heartbleed bug. But not every coin uses this functionality, and those coins which do not are not vulnerable to the bug. Our developer has already looked into this for us,  Einsteinium (EMC2) does not use the functionality which is in question with the heartbleed bug. However, to be on the safe side we will be implimenting the fix in the next wallet. We actually have a pretty active dev, they implimented a hard fork to fix the KGW issue and replaced it with digishield over the weekend.

Slight correction, the other adviser is Sander Blok, not block.
