I don't know the cause of this large drop and to be honest when I saw it I was pretty upset for a moment cause I never sold none of my UPX that I am mining since december for the reason that I treat this wonderful project not as a cash cow for the moment but more as an investment for the future.
That being said when I saw the actual difficulty I just added a couple of miners from other projects to UPX and I couldn't be happier seeing the results. Never thought this kind of difficulty was possible anymore on such a great ckin.

Ah, gothca! Yeah, the dev's answered a similar question earlier;

"In terms of browser based anonymous blockchain, we're able to show the world that everything from transactions to mining can be done without the need to download anything."
 
So you can mine/add a web miner via services like https://crypto-loot.com (who support uPlexa), but you can also mine using your mobile phone, or traditional CPU's GPU's; https://www.uplexa.com/ (miners section near the top).

We also have a community-made  hardware benchmark page, to help you determine how much you can earn/mine; https://www.uplexamining.com/hw-benchmarks/

The dev can change the thread title. Some projects make changes to it quite frequently. I would recommend taking out the browser-based part  if there's not going to be a native browser client for UPX. "Anonymous Blockchain Powered by IoT", says it all. When I see browser-based, I think of something like Surfcoin, which only uses a browser for mining, nothing else. I'm sure this question will come up in the future.
