According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Yeah I guess the devs are busy these days, they never had such an influx on their project! It is amazing what a jump uPlexa made the last days. Other than that I can imagine the pressure they feel at the moment, to keep things on track and in the meantime being able to solve every problem or semi-problem that is directed to them on discord and telegram. Respect and heads off for that! Same for the moderators, keep it up guys!

And one tip for the new people around, when in trouble with something, go to discord or telegram, but try and read the stickies and scroll through earlier messages first! This could save the (relatively small) team quite some valuable time, as quite a lot of (not all;-) questions are asked before..

Good to see a solid settle at 16 sats after the correction. Not a bad pump from the under dog coin no one believed in.

This project is going to go far and make big waves in the cryptoverse.

18Mh/s in just one week! That is 3 times the hashrate uPlexa had a few weeks ago.
Too bad I don't have the time to do some trading Sad

The cool part is that what uPlexa achieved in 6 months took other coins
several years. So the progress is very solid so far.
Waiting for the eventual fork Smiley

As far as I understand it's not an 'eventual' fork but an 'actual incoming' fork Wink the one thing I'm wondering is whether that fork will include pow modification + pos / masternodes system as well, or if 2 forks are gonna be needed.

2 forks will probably be a bummer to manage for pools and exchanges. Hopefully the exchanges won't charge too much for the updates

How are you devs planning to do this? 1 or 2 forks? I suppose it depends on the urgency of the pow evolution...

Whilst it hasn't been official decided yet, I believe a figure 2million UPX has been discussed..
My plan run a utility node is now under big question mark.
I hope that this figure will come down considering price increase.

Ya 107 coin fee is a little steep. I guess if i were sending 10,000 coin and paid 107 coins to do that then not as big of a hit. But like was said, for a small miner wanting to use the web wallet they will go broke quick.  Grin

Other than that its a nice user friendly wallet
The fee is that low only if you send a few coins. I also sent a test transaction from my web wallet today and paid ~110 coins in fees.
However when I tried sending ~200k coins the fee was around 10k. Luckily the transaction has not passed through because I did not have enough to pay the fees.
Importing the private key into the GUI wallet did the trick. The fee to send the same 200k coins was only around 100 UPX.
Hey buddy, just a follow up. I did exactly that, and got all my coins in my new GUI wallet. Very low fee's to send, or at least more in line now  Grin

Thanks again, for the tip  Wink

Here is the latest news from devs:

"We have scheduled a PoW hardfork for Tuesday, April 29th (or block 162,090). The hardfork will require you to update your wallets, miners, and pools to the latest version. Wallet versions 2.1.0 will be released early next week (22nd-23rd). The code has been updated at our github repository for any and all pool operators & miner developers to take a look at.
This PoW Hardfork will allow for an even more profitable experience for IoT devices whilst simultaneously helping the network defend against FPGA & ASIC miners. Hashrates for all miners will increase dramatically,(sorry neqinox), even more so for lower end devices.
What has been done in this hardfork?
* Upgraded base PoW algorithm to CNv8 from CNv7
* Reverse shuffle operators
* 128KB Memory
* 32,768 Iterations
How to prepare for the hardfork:
* Announcements will be made via Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Telegram, and Discord next week regarding which miners are ready for the upcoming hardfork. Once the announcements have been made, update your mining software to those supporting the hardfork (Currently XMRig-UPX, FruityMiner, and UPX Android miner).
* Update your GUI, command-line, and/or Android wallets sometime between the 24th-29th of April"

Wow, sounds like the devs got there shite together. I hope the hardfork goes smooth, because given the recent history of this project, the devs are top notch and expectations are really high now. Keep it up guys!

I really hope for more profitable IoT mining, since my phone (60h/s) doesn't give me that much UPX at the moment. The difficulty for mining overall is steady and high as well,
which unfortunately for small miners it's much tougher to get some coins: I get 500UPX now in more than two days:-/. On the other hand they're worth much more now, and continue to be more worth in the future.

Bring on Moonfriday!

How is the price an issue? It hasn't been with Dash, as far as I know Wink

If masternodes are too easy to afford, people are gonna host them on shitty unstable machines and it will harm the network.

We don't need people who are in for a "quick buck", but people who will keep the network strong...

The initial goal concerning the required collateral was to be "accessible" and yet "not too easy to get". No doubt that limit is hard to define, though..

And let's not forget to consider the total supply VS max number of masternodes. The max supply is pretty high, don't forget about it!

Why this rise recently? The price was tripled in a week or so. What was the reason for that?

The reason is upcomming PoW algo change. Everyone is trying to pull more coins before it kicks in.
Then roadmap updates which show that everything is on track and team works very good.
Third - many IoT miners start appearing here and there.
Fourth - Announcement for upcoming utility Masternodes later this year.
Fifth - many new folks heard about this coin thanks to the active Discord team.
Sixth - Stex is now the primary exchange which attracts traders.
