Could "cash equivalent" be our catchcry? The threats of surveillance capitalism and totalitarian governance bolster the need for a digital equivalent to cash.

They couldn't even help me. I found that during this period of reduced interest, I had many more orphans blocks. I haven't had so many before. The question is why the number of orphans blocks has increased so much for me.

Development Update — April 18, 2020

Hey everyone, just the first promised update for quick weekly on development:

  • PoW is coming along and running very stable! Huge accomplishment!
  • Pool support is being built for Progpow right now.
  • PoS is building as we mentioned last week and bug squashing has been happening all week. Notably there was an issue with CT data that caused us to scratch our heads. Resolved for now. The wallet initially was hanging in the beginning of the week and that too was resolved swiftly.
  • Veil Link Server development has started kicking off again now that PoS is in bug fix mode. Namely code refactoring and getting my bearings straight after dusting it off. The storage portion and server got the attention this week.
  • There are numerous macOS related fixes that have been pushed to ensure we have Veil working in tip top shape on macOS.
  • We got our cryptographer back fully in action and has been using his time to get SuperSonic built up in Rust. It sounds like it might be closer than we originally anticipated. Of course rigorous testing and 3rd party criticism and review must take place before we can start integrating it.
  • There has been work on the Veil debit card integration to ensure we have maximum compatibility with our partners with the exchanges we will be using.
  • Veil X wallet went from internal Beta v7 to v11 and has notably added auto updating, local database for transactions, ability to have multiple wallets, backup of wallets, views for blockchain and peers, option to change wallet passphrase, hide staking amounts unless absolutely confirmed. (No more ghost amounts!)

Fun fact this week: I accidentally was in the middle of a git rebase, cancelled it and lost 2 days of work! Thankfully, TimeMachine saved me and I only lost about 20 minutes.

Thanks everyone for making this a great week as always.

Hi;

Same here and the answer is very easy. There are more 1000 denom wallets since the price drop.

Kind regards

Veil Development Update — April 25, 2020

Hey everyone, update for this week are as follows:

  • Everything is in a bit of a stalemate until Elements blind code base gets added into Particl to allow the Rangeproof to be flexible enough for our needs. The existing Particl code only handles an exponent of 32 and we need an exponent that we can change. It’s a bit of a setback that we tried to avoid, however, there is a lot of work going into fixing this issue.
  • PoW is complete, but it’s just missing the final piece which requires the above.
  • There have been discussions about fixing up some issues with excessive LOCKs, so expect a more performant core wallet soon.
  • Veil Link Server has been on and off this week with a bit more clean up on the repo. A lot of attention and focus had to be diverted to this.
  • macOS fixes are ongoing but very close. It does build with the latest pushes. We are ensuring that involved team members can build it just fine.
  • Veil X has many new features added:
    • Options to switch wallets and change passwords
    • App auto-updating
    • Ensure orphans aren't displayed
    • Direct editing of veil.conf in the app
    • Copy transaction debug information to clipboard
    • Help screen
    • More transaction display consolidation
    • Neat "Reveal" button to display CT & RingCT transaction values

It has been a little bit of a frustrating week for Core developers as we were really hoping to have delivered some big news this week. Instead, we ran into the major issue described above. We will continue working as hard as we can to deliver a safe product.

Fun fact(?) this week: Did you know that we potentially started seeing blue as recently as 200 years ago after the creation of the light bulb? Is it true? You tell me!

Nice wallet. I hope it will come out well (fast), because the current wallet is really not pleasant. Where are the advances in the implementation of Sonic?

We're excited for everyone to try out the new wallet! Smiley

With regards to SuperSonic, this is from the development update last April 18th:
