Actually I do have a question, but of course you're free to refuse to answer Are the rates altered because: 1) Your margins are declining because the underlying business case is declining 2) You want bigger margins for yourself 3) Both 1) and 2) Smaller accounts are linked to more movement (deposits/withdraws) which equals more time for me. I would rather a few large lenders that are stable than lots of small accounts that jump in and out. Does stability (ie lack of withdrawals & deposits) affect the interest rate? You mentioned that on the first page and it wasn't clear to me.

I have made all my deposits between 4th jan - 18 jan and haven't touched it since and don't intend to (plus all interest is reinvested).
If I commit to a long term deal (so promising not to touch the funds for a year or something) would that entitle me to the high rate?
Sorry that's not the way it works.

perhaps a longer term lender could clear up a minor point here for me, I've got my interest set to roll over/reinvest & I assume what has accumulated gets held & put in to a non interest paying reserve until the next investment window opens & is then added to the amount one has that receives the interest payments - is this correct?

No, it gets immediately added to your total and starts accumulating interest. There is no wait. At least that's how it worked in my account so far.

I'm very happy to learn that there truly exists a serious non-trivial use of Bitcoin besides the Silk Road. Would you mind if I ask if your business is still growing? Do you have some plans to widen your business to a similar but more "public" area? I'm not prying your secret. I just think you are contributing a lot to the Bitcoin world, and I would like to hear more positive news.

Please don't ask for referrals in the thread. Quick question..... If a current 'Pirate Lender' who is in good status, makes a referral and the referred lender turns out to be less than favourable, is the original lender (who gave the referral) held responsible ?

On the other hand, how can a lender possibly be considered "less than favorable"? The only offense I can imagine here is frequent deposit and withdrawal, for which pirate already somewhat compensates for with different interest rates for varying deposit amounts.

Once you're in the inner circle of lenders, as I am, you get access to the StonePirate secret society, which has lodges in 759 cities worldwide and gives you powerful connections in very high places. Also, you get priority checkout at Walmart. The secret is too powerful to entrust to just anyone. And have I told you about Pirate's sister?

I know there isn't much incentive to refer anyone, especially if there is a risk to the refer...er.....lol I just figure, since most people on this forum (like most other international forums) rarely get the opportunity to know anyone around them face-to-face, it just makes it that much more difficult to trust anyone if it puts you or your own interests at risk. In regards to potentially making another look bad, it's safe to say that just because 1 profile gets along with another while posting....there is no guarantee that there wouldn't or couldn't be a personality conflict arise between either of them and an additional 3rd party.....if that makes sense. You should know that better than anyone
