The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Update

Hey guys, I'm sorry for the wait.  I had to take a last minute trip to deal with some things, which was suppose to be a quick one day trip but turned into two long days.  I was unprepared and on the road for much longer than anticipated.  I would have posted something about the delays prior to leaving if I knew it would be so long.

I can assure you all is well, again I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

More to come...

Funny how some people panic over a few hour delay from pirate....yet they will (in aggregate) send hundreds of thousands of dollars on the first day of preorders to BFL for a spot in a 4-month+ long line for an imaginary product.

Happy to hear everything is OK pirate ;p.

I've read the entirety of this thread and the "A day in the life of a pirate" thread. Pirate, I understand that you cannot disclose the specifics of your business practices, but is there a way to provide more transparency? One thing I would like to know (and wouldn't we all) is: how many BTC does BTCS&T hold? If you prefer not to disclose, that's your prerogative, of course, but I can't help but wonder because of the mathematical implications of compounding interest.

Many account holders receive weekly payments rather than compounding their interest.  I'm tired of seeing people make the assumption that his holdings are growing exponentially.

I am not making that assumption -- as I said, I've read both threads, and I've seen the backlash at this line of reasoning already. However, some of the accounts are compounding and a reference point would be nice, that's all.

Dear pirate,

why is it just you doing Gods work? Here in Germany.. we even got the chance to elect pirates in parliament for going to rule all of old Europe!

Or is just Texas where one can funnel the missing ( or unaccounted for ..as my compatriot Rumsfeld confessed)1.5 billion dollars from the pentagon

right into the bitcoin community???  Come on throw out a hint how we can blow this bubble even bigger.....for after pilfering the spanish armada

even sink the Queens ships.....and finally go for some change we will believe in:-.))

Cheers Zyk
