Diversity is the key! Lol, seriously I think housing and lands are the best investment long-term as these two tend to appreciate value over time as the need for space and place to live in arises. Gold and bitcoin are speculative assets; no assurances that they will work for you or your investment.
But house and lands have some problem, they usually need more initial investments, furthermore in many times their value decreases.

I believe that investing money in gold is much more safer than investing in bitcoin because bitcoin price has more extreme movements than any other market. So if you do not like high risk, do not invest in BTC
It has high and fast movements but the movements may be in favor of owners of bitcoins too. So it depends on the view of the people. If they are risk averse Gold is better for them.

not always, sometimes you only get an upgrade of the previous technology perfect example are computer, they are not replaced since they were invented, but just upgraded to be more powerful

Some kind of "computer 2.0" that is too different from the original one. Which means that bitcoin WILL become obsolete. One day. But it can be in something like 100 years. And even then, it will always be possible to transform btc in a btc 2.0 xD

When the price are high i will sell 50% of my BTC to Gold, then when BTC drop down i will sell the gold and rebuy BTC, Don't buy Gold, wait for the price to get dumped and buy back BTC, as you are sure to lose on Gold these days... Gold is losing its shine, while BTC is sure to reach its new ATH very soon...

I think don't buy gold. Bitcoin is more profitable. (It's a bit dangerous, of course.)

Gold is losing its shine, while BTC is sure to reach its new ATH very soon... It's always better to buy in to something in which it is deemed you are "guaranteed to lose money" on it. I know gold has been on a steady decline in prices, but I have a feeling we will be seeing another economic collapse due to oil companies defaulting on their business because of the recent global oil glut. You can't keep selling something that is essentially making you lose money... I have a strong feeling this will happen within this year... approximately 8 years since the 2008 economic collapse of people faulting on their mortgages. So buying gold/silver (and I guess bitcoin) will be of everyone's best interest as of right now, IMO.

Well, OK, the OP said to pick one. But I would take them both. 90% in gold, 10% in BTC. But, if I had to pick one, it would be gold. That's exactly what I was going to say. The irony is, in 10 years the 10% bitcoin may well be worth significantly more that the gold. I do not understand your reasoning ..? You assume that Bitcoin (probably) will be more expensive than gold, but as investments you choose gold? Is lies in this some secret?

If you are already rich gold is good.
If you are poor, more chances to change your life with bitcoins.
Exactly one of the main differences of investment between bitcoin and gold is initial investment needed for investment. For bitcoin you can invest less and hope bigger rise. It is the positive aspect.

Gold is more likely to be worth more than BTC say in 50 years. Bitcoin will probably change, evolve or die given a longer-term time horizon.
Again, I own BOTH. BTC for its possible huge price rise (short to medium term).
Gold for wealth preservation.
Gold price does not move parallel to BTC. Diversification.

This is the true recommender theory for investing in different baskets to prevent risk of lost of all what you have.
