ripple hasn't platform that can used by new projects.meanwhile ethereum platform used by most projects now.and ofcourse it makes ethereum demand rise alot.moreover in bullish trend, investors believed holding ethereum more secure and give them alot of profits.they hope new ico will use eth platform.

This is because of the coming hard fork, if there was no hardfork I doubt if they can regain that second spot, and if Ripple regain that second spot after the hardfork then Ripple will be strong in the second spot as Ethereum can't offer anything new to the community anymore.

I think ethereum deserves the first position in the cryptocurrency world due to its amazing team and technology. I personally favour the king coin and it is not fair to judge the coin by its price only. Given the volatility of cryptocurrency, not only ethereum, almost all the coins have decreased in price.
