Poloniex exchange has some deposit/withdrawal issues. Not sure about other exchanges. If you're not looking to trade BCN for a while, it would be safer to transfer the balance to your desktop wallet.

Trying to boot up some real discussion on Bytecoin again.
Pros and Cons kind of thing.
Have re-read all the old threads I could find about Bytecoin's "premine." Even if a single player holds 80% plus of all the coins he/she may not decide to dump them all at once. And yes I know that they have been dumping for hours now.
On the other hand, given this recent injection of funds for Bytecoin, I hope that some of the dev's profited and have decided to use some of that cash to improve their coin.
They've been relatively quiet for awhile now. Does that mean this is a dead coin? Seems that Github has been active lately. Improvements and fixes.
And the recent problem whereby extra coins were created. It's fixed now, right?
But down to brass tacks.
Is the tech solid? I find the GUI wallet easier to use than Monero wallets -- all of them.
I mean even if Monero is superior, why is it not noob friendly?
I've never had a problem with transfers (sends), but haven't done any BCN sends lately.
Poloniex's hold on this coin is troublesome.
I find the fact that all of Bytecoin's devs are anonymous is more secure -- if they are honest. Based upon their professional website and blogs/news, they clearly aren't dummies.
The fact that Monero's dev's are also "secure" is great, but one guy (fluffy) has faced forward. That is a liability in the real world if he has any keys to the kingdom or contacts with other devs in his circle of coders. Many governments are watching.
It would be nice if the Bytecoin team gave us some more news.
Is anyone home?
